The Pigeon Pair Saves The Marriage by Janice Gold

Chapter 14

Chapter 14

When Gideon came, Danika let Joyce lie down on the sofa.

Seeing Gideon, Danika hurriedly greeted him. “Giddy, you’re here.”

Gideon didn’t pay much attention to her and only nodded. He loosened his tie slightly with his slender fingers and walked straight to the sofa.

Joyce recalled Danika’s words, tears welling up in her eyes. She said sweetly, “Daddy…”

Gideon sat beside her, lifted her onto his lap, and let her lean into his arms. He asked in a low voice, “What’s troubling you?”

Joyce grabbed the clothes on his chest and kept her head down without answering. She only said, “Daddy, I miss you.”

Danika stepped forward and explained, “It’s not serious. She’s much better now.”

Without saying anything else, Gideon hugged Joyce and stroked her shoulders, soon putting her to sleep.

He carried Joyce to the bedroom and then came out.

Danika closed Joyce’s door, followed Gideon closely behind, and pulled his sleeve. “Giddy, what would you like to eat tonight? I’ll cook for you.”

Gideon lowered his eyes, avoided Danika’s hand, and said flatly, “Don’t bother. I won’t be eating here today.”

Danika was stunned for a moment and then said, “But Joyce will be very sad once she wakes up and doesn’t see you.”

Gideon paused and turned around, looking down at Danika.

He looked aloof, carrying a natural indifference and dignity. His deep eyes seemed to be able to see through her mind.

Danika felt flustered somehow when being stared at by him, but she managed to calm down. She smiled as gently as ever, “Giddy?”

Gideon still didn’t say anything. He pressed his lips, his cold voice a little deep. “Danika, Lyn’s death anniversary will be next month. You should take Joyce to see him.”

Lyn Wallace’s name hit Danika like a thunderbolt.

Her face turned pale for a moment.

“Joyce will grow up one day. She has the right to know the truth.”

Danika bit her lip, not knowing how to react.

She lowered her eyes and could only hear the pounding sound of her heart in her chest.

Gideon looked at her, his tone as if warning and reminding her. “Danika, don’t forget him.”

He turned around and wanted to leave, but something leaped into his mind. He added, “Joyce said that you gave away the small bag she liked very much that I bought at the auction last time. I bought another one a few days ago, and I’ll let Ray send it here

tomorrow.”

Chapter 14

Danika wrung her hands, but she tried hard to maintain a calm face,

“Okay, Giddy. Thank you.”

Gideon said in the end, “You’re welcome. Lyn hopes you can live happily.

Gideon went out of the villa and got into the Rolls-Royce parking in front of the door.

Putting his hands on the steering wheel, he took a deep breath fretfully.

He knew Joyce was not feeling unwell at all.

Joyce wanted him to come because she wanted him to spend more time with her, but Danika…

Danika was the girlfriend of Lyn, Gideon’s friend. Lyn died to save him, and Danika was pregnant at that time.

Out of great guilt, Gideon wanted to take good care of Danika to make up for it.

When Joyce was born, Danika said she didn’t want her child to have an incomplete childhood without a father, so he treated Joyce as his daughter.

Gideon wanted to make up for Lyn and always tried his best to play a good role as a father. Therefore, he gradually had close ties with Danika.

But he never expected Danika to develop feelings for him over time.
