The Other Side Of The Story

I didn't know where I was or how long it's even been, but I finally managed to open my eyes and was immediately blinded by the strong light , it took me a minute to adjust to it but when I did I looked around me and things were a bit fuzzy at first but soon after it got clearer

However even then I didn't recognize the place, but what I did recognize was the person sitting beside the bed I was laying on, Cedric!!

He had a worried expression on his face as he was staring at the ground

"Cedric?" I whispered as I tried to stand up but stopped as a wave of pain shot through my head so I lied back down, his head immediately snapped in my direction

"You're up" he said and his worried expression relaxed a bit "how are you feeling?"

"Alright, just a bit confused, what are you doing here?"

"You know a normal person who just woke up after fainting would ask about what happened? Or Where they are?" he stated causing me to laugh

"Well I'm not a normal person am I?" I told him

"Can't disagree with you about that" he chuckled but then stopped when I asked "so what happened?"

"You fainted" he spoke, seriously thanks for stating the obvious

"No kidding, I haven't noticed" I rolled my eyes at him

"well don't be a know it all with me okay" this time it was his turn to roll his eyes at me so I gestured for him to go on "when that Bludger hit you on the head, it gave you a concussion which lead to you fainting when you were in the hallway luckily Snape saw you and brought you here to the hospital wing ,madam Pomfrey said that if he was a bit late you could have… well it's a good thing that he found you when he did" he said losing all the playfulness in his voice and his voice trailed off , so I quickly gripped his hand

"Well I am okay now aren't I? it will take you more than a couple of slytherin and a Bludger to get rid of me Mr. Diggory " as I gave him a smile which he returned with a chuckle " even now you manage to crack a joke"

"Always" I chuckled as well

"So how long have I been out?"

"About six hours"

"BLOODY HELL!!" I yelled unable to believe him

"MS. Miller I see you are up and well, but I would appreciate it if you watch your language" Madam Pomfrey spoke as she came to my side and started to examine me

"Sorry" I apologized as I glanced at Cedric who was shaking his head at me, so I just stoke my tongue out at him only to earn a laugh from him

"Well you seem like you are recovering quiet well" she stated after looking between me and Cedric, then walked away

"So when will I be leaving here?" I asked her once she returned, I was hoping to get out of here as soon as possible, I never been a big fan of hospitals

"Once you are well enough" she said as she poured some white liquid out of a bottle in her hand into a cup and handed it to me and I studied it

"go on and drink it , it'll help you recover faster" she encouraged me and I turned to Cedric , who shrugged it off and signaled to me to drink it so I did, but as soon as I tasted it I spitted it out

"What the…"

"What did you expect pumpkin juice?" she asked raising an eyebrow at me but I just shrugged it off and drank the other cup she gave me

"So now Mr. Diggory if you are to stay with her I have to ask you to wake her up every two to three hours. This ensures that she have not gone into a coma and also check whether she is experiencing signs of severe confusion or abnormal behavior, if so you are to immediately call for me" she ordered him

"Yes, ma'am" he nodded

And then she turned to leave but I quickly stopped her "so you didn't tell me when I would be able to leave?"

"If you keep up with your medicine and stay well rested, I would give it two weeks"

"TWO WEEKS?! But that's too long and beside I have classes" I can't stay here for a week I'd rather die

"Well maybe next time you would think about that before you get yourself hurt and as for your classes I already Got Mr. Diggory to discuss that with Professor Dumbledore" she explained then turned back to the door "goodnight to you both" she called behind her as she left

"Can't this day get any better?" I asked as I buried my head in the billow but only heard a chuckle come from Cedric

"It's not that bad you know" he spoke and I removed the billow

"How is that?!" I asked raising an eyebrow at him

"Well first you get to spend time with me and second you get a week free of classes no waking up early no home works" he did have a point, I give him that

"So what did I miss?"

"Not much, but a lot of people came to see you when you were out and they were worried"

"Yeah like who, I don't really have lots of friends" I replied, who would be worried about me

"You aren't giving yourself enough credit you know almost half the school came asking about how you were" he exclaimed but I didn't buy it

"Name some"

"well First the twins, Harry , Ron and Hermione , Oliver , Neville , Angelina and the rest of the Gryffindor Quidditch team and many more" he answered simply and I was actually surprised that all those people were actually worried about me

"Wow!!" was the only thing I could say

"So when were you planning on telling me that you were going to play that match?" he asked raising an eyebrow at me

"Well, I myself didn't know I was playing until an hour before the game so I guess there was no time" I explained raising my hands in the air in defense

"Good excuse , but you were actually great out there , it was as if you were a natural , no one could ever tell that this was your first time playing…" we spent a couple more hours like that then I fell asleep and Cedric made sure he woke me up as Madam Pomfrey told him

The morning came quickly and Cedric had to leave to attend his classes, so here I was all alone and bored to hell, so I decide to stretch my legs by walking around the room and I sat up straight but was stopped when I heard footsteps

I turned to see who it was and was surprised when I saw it was Oliver, I know Cedric said that he came to check on me but I never thought he would come again

"Hey there, how are you feeling?" he asked as he came to side of the bed

"Alright, what about you? I mean considering you were hit by a Bludger as well"

"Been better but I won't complain" he answered as he took the seat where Cedric was sitting last night

"When will you be getting out of here?" he asked looking uneasy around the room

"By the end of next week, but I take it you're not a fan of hospitals" I shot at him and he just shrugged it off

"Don't worry neither am I"

"Good to know I'm not the only one" he retorted "so how do you spend the time here?"

"Good questions, I was just asking myself the same thing and guess what, I have no clue" and he chuckled at me reaction

"Well I find that hard to imagine, you the great Alex Miller, not finding something to do" he exclaimed with a smirk

"Hahaha very funny but come on think about it what is there to do around here but boredom of course"

"Come on it can't be that bad"

"Actually it is, especially this bed that I can't get out of" I said and tried to stand up but instead I felt dizzy and was about to fall if he hadn't caught me at last second

"Hey take it easy there" he spoke as he helped me back to the bed

"Thanks" I said as I sat back down "great and now I can't even stand without falling on my face, isn't that just great"

"hey come on how about you take it easy for now and once you are out of here I'll teach you more about Quidditch and maybe next year you'll make the team" he offered and I just couldn't refuse the deal so I smiled and shook his hand "I can't promise you ,but I'll try to "

"I will take that deal"

"Deal" I confirmed

The rest of the two week passed really quickly even though I didn't expect it to, but I wasn't going to complain

Through those weeks I was visited by the rest of my friends as in the trio and the twins and also Oliver who kept showing up every once and a while

Cedric on the other hand didn't leave my side for most of the time; he would only go to his classes then come back as soon as he is done

Any way I spent the following months catching up on my lessons and school activities so time flew by even quicker and before I knew it I was heading back home to my parents to spend the charismata's vacation
