Chapter Fourteen
Shaun was bruised and battered. She couldn’t shift anymore, because she was low on energy, “Awe, is puppy too tired to finish?” The hispos wolf taunted. Shaun growled and tried to get up, but couldn’t.
The hispos shifted back to his human form and walked up to her. His dark hair always fell into his green eyes and it was hard to see him in the darkness of what Shaun claimed to be a dungeon they were in because of his dark skin, “Why are you doing this?” She asked weakly.
“Because Asher told me I would be his right hand man, forever. I came from nothing, I thought I was going to die. Thankfully, Asher found me and saved me. He told me he would take care of me and protect me,” he explained as he picked Shaun up with one hand easily. He held her up against a cold, brick wall, ready to get rid of her, “But then you came along and ruined that for me for a whole year!”
Shaun thought about that year when she was with Asher. She really did enjoy that year up until he broke her heart, “You’re the kid he talked about so much. He complained about you all the damn time,” she said trying to ruin his life like Asher had ruined hers.
“That’s not true! He’d never say that!” The teen boy shouted. His hand moved from Shaun’s shirt collar to her throat. She tried to gasp for air, but she was losing her oxygen fast. Her hearing and vision started to go, but she heard a faint voice yelling.
“Daemion! Let her go! What did I tell you about playing with the enemy?!” The voice shouted. The kid let Shaun go and she gasped for air as she fell to her knees. She looked up, as her vision started to come back and saw Asher scolding the kid. She was confused as to why Asher was helping her. He turned to look at her and they made eye contact, “Shaun, I’m sorry about him. He can be really protective...” He apologized.
Shaun couldn’t believe his actions towards her. It had been three years since they really had a good conversation with each other. ‘Why is he being so nice to me...I don’t get it...’ she thought to herself in confusion. She watched him walk over to her and pick her up in a wedding cradle like she was nothing. “Why?”
Asher stayed quiet and carried her to the hospital room he had there. It was the worst awkward moment between the two and Asher just kept a straight face. Daemion followed like a puppy dog, but a very angry puppy dog. Asher set Shaun down on a bed when they got there and injected her with something to make her sleepy.
Shaun felt drowsy as soon as something was injected into her skin. “What are y--” she started to say and then everything went black and silent.
