The Marriage That Never Was (Leonard and Lisa )

Chapter 95

Chapter 95

“Heh, at least wait until she becomes Mrs. Parker.” Lucas shrugged. “By the way, Quince called me today to ask how much money the delivery woman should get.”

“I won’t get involved in Lisa’s issues again. Let Quince decide for himself.”

Leonard would not mind helping Lisa’s friend get more money if Lisa decided not to divorce him. However, since Lisa insisted on the divorce, he no longer wanted to get involved with her problems.

The next day, while brushing her teeth in the hotel bathroom, Lisa saw a strange number on her phone. She realized it was Quince’s phone number. They had exchanged numbers over lunch at the Villagio Center.

She guessed the purpose of his call and answered it.

“Is this Lisa? It’s Quince. Is your friend feeling better?”

Lisa’s tone was not pleasant. “Not really.”

Celine’s stomach had been upset, so she was not able to join Lisa for late-night drinks and snacks. Celine had been suffering from abdominal pain for the past couple of days.

Quince fell silent for a moment and said, “I heard about her stomach from the police. I’ll transfer three thousand dollars to you for your friend, so let’s consider this settled.

“And don’t ask me for more. Since she was little, my sister had been the family’s princess. She had never been mistreated like that before.”

At first, Quince considered offering Celine more money, but he decided to wait for Leonard’s response. However, it appeared that Leonard was indifferent to it.

Lisa’s gaze

turned cold. “What does it matter if your sister is your family’s little princess? My friend is about her age, too. Did she deserve to be bullied?”

“That’s why I’m compensating her with three thousand dollars. That’s enough to cover the hospital bills, and she can use the remaining money for something else. Lisa, you’d better ask your friend for her opinion first.

“Maybe you don’t care about that amount of money, but she might. Once you have the answer, just send me a text. But let me remind you, there won’t be any extra money.” Quince impatiently hung up.

Lisa was annoyed.

“How dare Quince be so co cky to think he can take advantage of me and Celine just because we don’t have any support?!”

Still, Quince was not entirely wrong. He was compensating for Celine, not Lisa.

Lisa called Celine and shared the conversation, asking, “What do you think?”

“Take the compensation,” Celine agreed quickly. “He’s right. With three thousand dollars, I can use the rest for something else. As a food delivery person, money is what I need most.

“I know you want a sincere apology from the Fill family, but is that possible? The world of wealthy people is not something we can imagine. They probably don’t even think they’ve done anything wrong. After all, delivery people are unclean to them.”

Lisa’s mouth fell open, but she remained silent.

“Isn’t that the truth?” Celine shrugged. “When we might complain that we won’t have food, they might lament that they can’t have caviar.”

Lisa found it quite ridiculous, but she informed Quince of Celine’s decision through a text. Soon, Quince transferred the three thousand dollars, and Lisa passed them on to Celine.

Initially, Celine only wanted to take fifteen hundred dollars because Lisa had fought for her and got injured. However, Lisa

refused to accept it.

Lisa then accompanied Celine to the police station in the afternoon and received her refund from the gaming company.
