Chapter Bride 8
Chapter 8
Groaning, I opened my eyes slowly, wincing at the sharp pain throbbing in my skull.
My neck felt stuck, and it hurt each time I tried to move my head, it had been in the wrong position for hours.
Did I fall asleep? I felt disoriented as I stared off into space. There was a gap in my memory and I tried to remember what I had done last night.
Closing my eyes once more, I tried to shut out the persistent ringing in my head. After a few minutes, I opened them once

Iblinked against the dimly lit room, trying to take in my surroundings. This was the same room I had been in when Silas brought me here for the first time, but why was I here once again? What happened last night? It felt as if someone had smashed something against my skull.
Did Silas do something? I wondered.
I tried to remember, but my head ached badly, and I was barely able to recall the events of last night.
"Why couldn't I move?" I panicked as I tried to move my hands, finding them chained behind me. What was happening? Where was Silad
My heart raced as I yanked my hands to set myself free but it was of no use.
I was sitting on a chair with my hands chained behind me and my entire body ached because of the bad position I was kept in.
Couldn't they have at least kept me on a bed? The chair wasn't too comfortable.
Slowly, the events of last night came rushing back. From the dinner to me trying to escape and then to Silas capturing me.
Everything came rushing all at once and I gasped.
I had tried to escape and then Silas caught me immediately. I hail no chance of escaping right from the start. It was foolish of me to even try, but I couldn't have stayed while they were embarrassing me. I remember him holding a knife to my throat. I thought he was going to kill me.
I couldn't forget he hit me with something, and that explains the throbbing pain I was feeling in my head
It was a miracle I didn't suffer from any brain injury because of Silas.
I looked down at my clothes, my jaw dropping in disbelief. I couldn't stop the shriek that escaped my lips as I tried to pull my hands free
I was stripped down to nothing but my undies, each desperate attempt made to cover myself futile.
I couldn't even unchain my hands, not to talk about covering myself.
-Why would Silas take off my clothes? It was starting to get cold and my teeth were chattering
"Are you finally awake?"
I raised my head to find Silas staring at me blankly. His eyes remained on my face, not even going an inch past
Was be the one who did this? Certainly, it could only be him since he's the boss.

"Where are my clothes? I hissed, gritting my teeth as I fought to free myself from the chains.
The chains hit into my skin the more I fought, peeling my skin and bruising my wrist.
Slowly, Silas walked towards ine and I stopped struggling, my breath hitched in What was he about to do?
1 gasped when Silas grabbed my jaw, forcing my face up so I could look at him.
His eyes bore into mine, his hands cold to the touch
Couldn't he be more gentle?
I couldn't help but wonder.
my throat.
This wasn't the right reaction to being kidnapped and chained up; anyone in my shoes would be screaming and scared out of their skin right now, shaking even.
But I did find myself doing that. I couldn't show them, no matter what, just how frightened they made me feel
It was going to give them a sense of superiority, and I wasn't prepared to give them that
Dealing with my father over the years has taught me that.
"What did I tell you about trying to escape?" He asked coldly.
His eyes held no emotions and I flinched under his hold.
So much for not showing you were scared. But I wasn't going to give him the answer he was looking for.
I had disobeyed him, breaking two of the rules he had set out for me.
Number one was not to try and escape- which I might consider doing some another time, maybe when I'm sure of where to run to and the best possible routes to take.
And number two was not to disobey. It was a two-in-one rule, and he didn't look like he was going to let me off easily.
Hence the fact that I was still sitting in the chilling weather wearing nothing but my undies.
"You said I should try and-" I started but his eyes cut me off immediately.
"Don't play smart with me. I hate it when people disobey orders His grip on my face tightened, his nails digging into my
skin.
"I told you not to think of escaping. There was no way for you to escape, and then you went ahead and tried something stupid,"
Suddenly, Silas pushed away from me, standing to his full height. He took off the black gloves in his hands and thrashed them, replacing them with another immediately.
He couldn't even bear touching me like I was something disgusting.
"Being it in, Silas ordered and the door was pushed open immediately.
A maid pushed a cart into the room, the weapons on the tray glistening under the lights.
I looked between Silas and the cart in shock, my heart beating so loud you could hear it from space.

Wait, don't tell me...
My heart dropped as the cart was set in front of me, the tools or it coming into view. "What do you plan on doing with these?" I asked Silas, raising my head to look at him.
They were torture equipment, each one designed to bring more pain than the other.
I knew because my father had used it on me, and let me tell you wasn't enjoyable.
But why did he ask them to bring it in? He couldn't be planning on torturing me, could he?
"Im going to torture you and send the video to your father. What does it look like?" He asked nonchalantly, making it sound as if he was talking about making a funny video.
"Is that supposed to make my father rush down here?" I couldn't help but ask, my brow coming up
His silence was enough of an answer for the and I shook my head
The last thing my father was going to do was rush into an enemy's territory because of me.
He might just ask Silas to kill me too
"My father doesn't care about me. You can go ahead and send the video to him, but it would mean nothing to
My voice held no emotions as I spoke, my eyes dropping to a dead stare
to him.
I wasn't serious about him going ahead to torture me, but I knew that my father wouldn't care about what happened to me.
Just then, a man walked into the room, going straight to Silas. He kept his eyes in front of him at all times, not letting his eyes stray to me.
"Marcos called. He said he would end you if anything happened to her. The man whispered to Silas, and my eyes went wide. Silas looked at me as he listened to what the man said, his eyes bolding so much fury.
I shook my head in disbelief, but it was obvious that Silas wouldn't believe me
That has to be a lie, there was no way Marcos would say anything like that, especially when the 'her' was me.
He must be planning something. Or maybe it was Chris.
I was taken just before we said our vows and the wedding was a political one.
Maybe Chris' father still wanted me, and that was why Marcos was bothering me.
It had to be the reason since for some reason, Chris was obsessed with me.
As disgusting as it was, it was the truth.
And Marcos needed to hand me over to them since they had already paid the dowry. Plus the fact he didn't have another daughter and he needed an alliance with Chris' family. After the man was done speaking, he bowed to Silas before he harried out, keeping his eyes on the ground.
I gulped when Silas turned to me, his eyes blazing.
Do you think lying to me is the best thing to do?"

The room temperature dropped down, an indication that Silas was angry.

"What benefits would I get froin lying to you? If he truly loved me like you believe, don't you think he would be here for me already? Lasked, my brow coming up.
No father would sit still after their precious daughter got kidnapped, and yet my very own doesn't even care about what happens to me.
"Everyone knows just how well your father adores you. He doesit bother hiding it from the entire world, and you think a pity story like my father hates me would get me to set you free Silas growled, glaring at me. He was unable to believe what I had said, but he shouldn't believe all he sees so easily.
tell,"
Thad men watching you for years now, and I know just how well your father adores you. Next time, think of a better lie to
"You're in the mafia, do you think it is wise to believe everything you see? It could all be a facade, 1 said to him, relaxing in
my seat
All these while we spoke, Silas eyes never strayed from my face. I wasn't insecure about my body; it was the pure opposite.
His eyes wandered to my chest in my relaxed state and my brow came up.
Who would have thought that he would be attracted to me?
My eyes raked over his features, and once again, I had forgotten the position I was in.
ww
The man had kidnapped me and married me against my will, I couldn't afford to be attracted to him. But yet, here I was.
Attracted to him like a moth drawn to the flames, and oh how beautiful the flame was.
I couldn't deny that Silas was hella attractive, it was a pity we met in this situation
But would he require I perform my wifely duties to him? I know that we are not married for real, but if my father isn't coming for shouldn't I try to survive here?
Different thoughts ran through my head, making me feel conflicted.
Suddenly, Silas turned away and walked to her door.
"If you try to escape from me once more, there will be dire consequences and you will be punished,"
The door slammed shut, and the lights went off, leaving me alone in the dark room.
