Müde ( T i r e d )

We sat in the same lounge of the pack - that I left - that I grew up in once again.

Darius sat beside me while Asher and his Beta sat in front of us. Marco and Avalon both sat impatiently on two different couches.

Both were far away from their mates.

"So what you are saying is that our sister was taken away like ten hours ago and we are being informed just now!" Asher's voice boomed but it did not affect us. Of course. We all still outranked him.

I just watched him.

"Yes, normally we wouldn't have told you because she is part of our pack so be grateful we did." No one spoke after Darius ended his statement.

The atmosphere of the room changed.

I knew Darius was always on the edge whenever he was here - but this time he was being extra annoyed.

Asher looked at me and I raised a brow, motioning with my head to the couch. He sighed and seated himself on the couch.

"So what are we going to do? What are you guys planning?"

Darius looked at me and I took over the conversation. My heart fluttered but I held it in its cage.

"As far as we know, she has to be somewhere in Willow Town."

"Well if that's our only lead then we will follow it. There is no time to waste." Asher stood up and Avalon immediately followed.

"Yes! Let's go, right now." Marco stood up as well.

I stood up too, excited to be finally able to do something for Klepto but that all excitement turned to confusion when Darius pulled me back on the couch.

"I will be joining you, men, outside, meanwhile, prepare things for departure." Darius nodded at everyone and they left.

"What are you doing?" I asked confused.

Darius sighed and turned towards me.

"Look, I agreed to bring you here but you will not be able to go any further than this."

"What!?"

"Freya, your heat is really close, by the way, you are looking right now, I'll give it a few hours maybe. I cannot have you out there while in your heat. Even though your heat will not be that harsh on you this time as it will be on me but you have to understand."

I don't know why, whenever he takes my name, I am unable to process the next words he says.

"I will not allow you to come with us, understand!" His words hit me like a ton of bricks.

I was unable to reason with him. He was right, last time the heat came, I was unable to get up from the bed, I will just be a burden among enemies.

And he was right, the way I looked was . . . Too appealing. The big bust and all.

I sigh.

Darius pulled my face closer and kissed my forehead.

"Take care of yourself. All the mated wolves will be here to protect you so you don't have to worry about anything."

Darius dropped his hands from my face and stood up, straightening his clothes.

"Are you coming to see me off?" I nod slowly and stood up.

What else could I do?

I followed Darius outside the lounge, leaving the warmer atmosphere and moving to the colder one.

A vehicle was already ready with some more essential things.

I watched Asher come over towards me.

"Freya, I want you to take care of this pack while I am gone please." I smile and nod eagerly. Why the fuck would I not!? Asher smiles wide and runs to the vehicle, immediately climbing in.

This made me feel slightly better - I was going to be able to look after this pack once again and offer it my services.

I turned towards Darius who was already looking at me.

"Take care of yourself too," I mumble, and Darius smile at me, kissing my forehead once again and walking to the vehicle.

Among all those men, he looked the strongest, catching everyone's attention. Even in the crowd of hindered people, I would spot him easily.

I watched as they drove away. After such a long time, Darius was going miles away from me and it felt . . . Weird.

I missed him.

Whatever this creature was in my head, had to go out or the next time I would be seeing Darius, I'll be jumping his bones.

...

Three more hours had gone by and the pack was running smoothly.

I had spent my time roaming around the pack, meeting everyone once again and relinquishing between them.

It was refreshing.

I had returned to the packhouse soon after and stood on a balcony, admiring the sunset.

I wonder what everyone was doing.

Had they been successful in their journey of finding Klepto?

I hope they are alright. What will I do if something happens to them?

Let's not think about that at the moment.

I was still buried deep in my thoughts when a small point of my body felt heavy, stabbing like pain making me cup it.

"God!" A yelp escaped me as the pain only increased, as it started enveloping my whole body, making me kneel on the ground.

Moaning in pain, trying to keep my voice down, I tried to move inside my old room.

The pain never stopped and neither did I.

When I finally reached the door of my room, I collapsed. My eyes closing on their own accord until darkness completely swallowed me.

The next time I opened my eyes, I was on my soft mattress, filled with sweat.

God, it feels so bad!

My body was numb, unmovable but I didn't struggle against it. I let it stay frozen.

A moment of numbness was something I needed.

The female doctor I had seen the first time I was in this condition was there, watching me.

"I will get some herbs for you, rest till then." I only manage to blink and the doctor left.

But Darius said it wouldn't be this painful, right?

I had closed my eyes, trying to get swallowed in the darkness once again when I hear the window beside me being pulled open.

"How is my favorite Alpha?" My eyes snap open and I immediately sit up, the body that was numb a while ago didn't felt like that anymore.

Now I stared at Klepto who looked okay. Okay.

"Wh- How - Are you okay?"

"Lay down!" Klepto pushes me down and fixes my sheets.

"I am okay and I'll tell you everything but what are you doing here in this condition. I am sure Darius wouldn't have allowed it. Did you run again?"

Why in the world was she worried about me!?

"No - Darius with everyone else had set out to look for you. They had been gone for hours now. Darius left me here."

All and all, I was happy to see her back safe but I should inform Darius.

"Darius!"

"Are you okay? Where are you -" He sounded okay - Thankgod.

"I am fine, it's Alaska. She is with me. She is fine."

"Really? Okay, thank you for informing me. We will be back soon. Take care of yourself and stay in your room!"

Before I could even say anything else, our mindlink was closed.

I sighed and looked back up at Klepto who stared at me.

"Man, your eyes are cool."

...

So, I hope this book ends soon, I have dragged it enough I think.
