Chapter 500
Chapter 500 You're Loved
Ziana slapped herself on the forehead hard.
How could she be so foolish!
"You're absolutely right," she muttered with a heavy heart.
Seeing her sudden realization, Boris chuckled softly. "Do you believe me now?"
Ziana nodded solemnly.
Indeed, whenever it involved Boris, her mind turned into mush.
It had been many days since Ziana last saw Boris, and when Ziana finally met him, she didn't think much of it, especially after finding out that Boris had been in contact with Mr. Collins.
The kidnapping case five years ago had been a life-changing event for her. She wished she could tear Mr. Collins apart, limb by limb. At that moment, she lost her rationality.
Unexpectedly, as she followed that fake Boris into the private room, she heard shocking revelations that instantly
overwhelmed her emotions.
It was only after watching Boris' footage that she regained her composure.
Now, upon careful reflection... there were flaws everywhere in tonight's incident at the Elegant Poetry Hotel.
That Boris had never laid a hand on her before.
At the time, she thought Boris still had some feelings for her. But now, thinking back, when had Boris ever acted so timidly?
As a proud and domineering man, he was used to being assertive and arrogant. Even when he was wrong, he would stand his ground with confidence.
His favorite thing to do was to subdue Ziana with force, using his physical advantage to tame Ziana before reasoning
with her.
But tonight, that fake Boris even leaned against the table and circled around her!
"Smack!"
She slapped herself on the forehead again and complained, "I'm such a fool in love!"
"Enough." Boris grabbed her hand. "Your concern has made you confused, but there's nothing wrong with being in love."
She acted quickly and slapped her forehead twice more. Boris couldn't help but find it amusing and exasperating.
Boris brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. "Love me, and I swear I'll never let you lose."
Ziana looked into his deep, dark eyes and pursed her lips.
she pulled her hand away. "I'm leaving."
"No, you're not." Boris asserted dominantly, holding her tightly. "You came to my place in the middle of the night, scolded me, and now that I haven't figured anything out, you want to leave? That's not how it works. Tell me, what really happened tonight at the Elegant Poetry Hotel? What did the fake Boris say to you?"
Ziana pressed her lips together and remained silent.

Boris grew irritated by her behavior. Boris gripped her face with his large hand, forcing her to face him. “Ziana, I'm asking you a question."
"It's none of your business. We've already broken up," she deflected. "Do I need to remind you? Wasn't it me who dumped you?"
Boris laughed, "Do you really think I'm a fool? Ziana, unlike you, when it comes to matters of the heart, my intelligence doesn't disappear. On the contrary, I become even more clear-headed and calm than usual. When you came rushing over today, crying and asking if I ever loved you, I just knew that you still love me."
"Don't flatter yourself." Ziana insisted stubbornly. "Boris, don't fool yourself."
Boris locked his eagle-like gaze on her, his eyes shining with sharpness and depth. "What is your purpose in getting close to Edison?"
Ziana's heart was suddenly struck Little did she know that what would leave her even more astonished was yet to
come.
"Let me take a guess," he whispered, his palm resting behind her slender waist, gently rubbing back and forth with his fingertips. "Is it to break the curse that's been placed upon you?" Ziana couldn't help but be taken aback.
Was her acting that bad?
As if he could hear her thoughts, Boris said, "It's not your acting; you really had me fooled. Until tonight, you had convinced me you were cruel because of the curse. But you just cried asking if I loved you, so clearly you were pretending."
"1.."
"If you were cursed, you would only care about Edison, and you wouldn't care if I loved you." Boris refused to let her deny it. "Did you hide this from me thinking I wouldn't agree with your plan?" Though it seemed like an ordinary statement, it was actually a bait deliberately thrown by him.
Compared to Boris, Ziana was completely outmatched in shrewdness.
Ziana had no defenses against Boris, and unsurprisingly, she took the bait. "Isn't that right? Five years ago, on that little island, you lost your eyes protecting me. Over a year ago, because of the Lewis family's threats, you were entangled in their affairs, forcing me to divorce you. You always make decisions on my behalf, thinking it's what's best for me!"
"You are mine, and protecting you is my duty as a man and a husband," Boris furrowed his brow, speaking with profound sincerity. "Just be happy and safe. I'll shield you from all harm. As long as I live, nothing will hurt you."
He stroked her hair. "You're loved. Let me handle everything, okay?"
"No!" Ziana shook her head, her voice carrying a trace of tears. "You are my man, and protecting you is also my duty as a wife. Even if I can't protect you, I still want to support you through hard times, to give you strength and a shoulder to lean on."
Though tears filled her eyes, her expression was stubborn.
"As your wife, I should value both love and righteousness along with you, just as friends and brothers value loyalty. Sharing joys and sorrows, facing challenges together, rather than... becoming a burden to you, making you constantly worry about how to shelter me."
"Boris, do you understand? Whether bitter or sweet, I want to share it with the one I love."

Boris gazed at Ziana, moved and shaken.
The girl from his memories, who was only sixteen, had grown up.
That girl had become the woman he adored.
Strong, brave, unwaveringly loyal, and unafraid of hardship.
His throat tightened, and for what felt like an eternity, he couldn't find the words to speak. Instead, he pulled Ziana towards him, holding her tightly in his embrace.
Ziana rested against his chest, listening to the strong rhythm of his heartbeat, and continued, "I don't want you to always sacrifice for me. Even if you're willing to do so, I don't want that, and I certainly don't want to be kept in the dark. I'm touched but pained seeing you suffer so. Facing life together, we can go farther."
Boris understood her meaning, but how could he bear it?
"It's too dangerous." He choked back tears. "I can't risk you. Leave the danger to me, okay?"
