The Heart Sees

I had gotten the bandage off my head a few days ago and I was feeling a bit better. The alpha has been really kind to me, bringing me meals and checking in on me... Lilac and I agree that he is a very caring mate.

Terry had talked to me a couple times about pack rules and how I wasn't supposed to let others into the alpha's space except him or Liam. He was strict, but fair. He seemed to care for the alpha a lot too which was a good sign. Compared to my old pack this one was treating me like a princess. The alpha even went out and had a bunch of clothes brought in my size, although I don't know how he knew my size.

Liam had just come over after I got ready for the day, saying that he was off patrol and wanted to plan something. "Hey Liam" I said as he walked into the room.

"So here is what I was thinking" Liam started as he sat on the bed beside me. I had gotten a lot more comfortable with Liam after I learned he was only interested in male wolves. The thought of having pups right now made me sick for some reason, even though I have never gone all the way with a guy before. "You said you can cook right?"

I realized I had zoned out for most of it, "yeah I can" I replied curiously. Liam seems like a troublemaker but he makes me laugh a lot.

"Well I know that the alpha absolutely loves cherry pie" Liam smiled. He had been giving me random facts about the alpha like this one for the last week or so.

"So?" I asked.

"So we should make him one! A way to a man's heart is definitely through his stomach" Liam said as he patted his non existent belly and I giggled.

"And what do you get out of this?" I asked.

"Besides time with my best friend and free food?" He asked and I laughed more, nodding. "Well I was hoping you could show me so that I could make something for the beta... although I don't know what kind of pie is his favourite" Liam hummed.

"My guess is apple" I said.

"Why?" Liam asked.

"Because he is always eating an apple when I see him or he has one in his hand" I stated.

"You are a genius!" Liam said as he picked me up and spun me around. "This deal was so worth it. Let's get started!" He said excitedly as he grabbed my hand and started leading me downstairs, while I kept laughing.

However, on the way down Liam got distracted and we ended up running right into the alpha. "Sorry Alpha" Liam immediately apologized.

"Sorry alpha" I said as I bowed. He frowned as his eyes looked in my direction.

"Where are you two off to in such a hurry?" He asked with a raised eyebrow and Liam shrugged. "You know I could command you to tell me" he stated and I shuddered.

"But you won't. Besides, it's a surprise..." Liam smiled and I was amazed he was talking to the alpha like that.

"Alright, just don't mess up the kitchen too much" the alpha said with a smirk.

"How did you know we were going to the kitchen?" I asked in amazement.

"Just a wild guess" The alpha smiled at me and chuckled as he started walking to his office. "And be more careful next time!" He called over his shoulder.

"We will" Liam called back as we kept going down the stairs. "Okay... lead the way" he said as he gestured to the counter. It was a very nice kitchen but I didn't know where anything was.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked as we dug through the cupboards to find what we needed.

"Positive" Liam said with a grin as we started working on the pies. "You know....." he said as he picked up a piece of scrap dough from the crust. "You are way too serious when you cook" he said before throwing the dough at me.

"Hey!" I shouted as I grabbed a piece and threw it at him. We were so busy attacking each other that we didn't hear the beta come in.

"You have got to be kidding me! I swear I have the worst luck!" Terry said as he tried to wipe the flour off of his shirt.

"Sorry beta" I said and bowed. "We didn't hear you come in" I admitted.

"Sorry beta..." Liam said but still had a small smirk.

"Just make sure you clean up after" Terry said with smile and shook his head as he walked out of the kitchen.

"Well I thought he would be angry with us for that but he seemed oddly happy" I said as we put the pies in the oven and started cleaning up our mess.

"It brings back good memories for him" Liam said cryptically.

******a while later******

"Remind me never to have a food fight with you again" I groaned as I finished mopping the last of the floor.

"But it's so much fun! We should get cleaned up though before the alpha sees us" Liam smiled.

"Alright, this place is huge I'm sure there is a guest room or something you can shower in" I said.

"That doesn't fix my clothes though" Liam pointed at his shirt, "I'll just run home and clean up. You don't need me there to give the alpha his pie though" Liam wiggled his eyebrows and I blushed.

"What about your pie? If you leave it sitting out someone will take it" I frowned.

"Then I will bring it with me" Liam said as he grabbed the pie. "Good luck with the alpha" he teased as he left the room.

I grabbed the pie and brought it upstairs, setting it beside the bed as I hopped in the shower. I was suddenly nervous about approaching Troy. What if he is busy?

I sighed, getting myself clean and dressed before unlocking the door and going back into the bedroom. I didn't see the alpha anywhere so I thought I would take it to his office. I grabbed the pie and strolled down the hall, taking a deep breath and knocking on the door. I heard some talking and arguing before the door was opened. "Hi beta" I bowed as Terry looked at me.

He saw the pie in my hand and smiled, "I'll leave you to it then. Wish I had pie....." Terry grumbled.

"You will" I said and he smiled before strutting down the hallway.
