Chapter Rosen
King Rosen has a lot of problems on his own. He is only 21 years old and took the throne when he was eight. His mother passed away when he was five and his father raised him to be a rough mean prince. At the age of eight, he ended up accidentally murdering his father while practicing his sword fighting skills. This event traumatized the kid and he never was the same.
King Rosen raised his pages into squires and then knights through a brutal point system.
“Only the best can serve in my castle,” King Rosen would say.
While many times the king was tempted to slay his servants that displeased him, the softer side of him allowed them to return to normal life in Snyvolon.
Now, at the age of 21, he has become ruthless. Six years ago when the Wolf People crash landed in his kingdom, he had a great fear that these strangers would take over his kingdom and steal the throne from him. At first, he decided to keep Silverous around as a pet and trick him into thinking they were equals. However, now he has revealed that they are by no means equal despite them both being kings.
Tonight, King Rosen walks towards the dungeon in his silver hairy shawl and his crown polished. He had Eugéne polish it for him and he did a very good job at it.
“Silverous Luster,” King Rosen says as he enters the dungeon.
Silverous just groans a little to announce that he is still alive.
“You are supposed to say “yes, your majesty!“!” King Rosen yells.
“Yes, your majesty...” Silverous moans.
“Good boy! If we were still on the same page, I’d have thrown you a treat...” King Rosen says.
“Rosen, you don’t have to be this way...” Silverous says.
“But it’s working out perfectly!” King Rosen says.
“You visit me frequently,” Silverous says.
“Only to deliver torture!” King Rosen says.
“Is that what you’ve come here for, then?” Silverous asks.
“Yes,” King Rosen says.
“Don’t you have more important things to be doing?” Silverous asks.
“Says the “king” who was too lazy to fight back when I threatened him! The “king” who lays without his gorgeous coat alone in a cold stinky dungeon... The “king” who relies on mythological heroes to save his people because he is too weak to save them on his own!” King Rosen says.
“And you are the king who threatens people, tortures them needlessly, and enslaves an entire race,” Silverous says.
“As a king, you do what you have to to make your kingdom thrive!” King Rosen says.
“Jebbron before the war, I shared the planet with other kings and queen’s peacefully. The Cat People destroyed my home and most my people, but I did not give up. I reached the 100 I could and we came here to safety,” Silverous says.
King Rosen falls silent.
“I lost my planet, what did you lose?” Silverous asks.
“My parents...” King Rosen says.
“They mattered a lot to you, didn’t they?” Silverous asks.
“SHUT UP!” King Rosen yells.
Silverous whimpers.
“You know what? I have a solution to your being cold...” King Rosen says, tapping a finger to his lips.
“You’ll give me that shawl?” Silverous asks, hopefully.
“No! You’ll get a dunk in a bucket of boiling water!” King Rosen says.
He opens the dungeon cell door and approaches Silverous. Silverous doesn’t say a word, only whimpers. King Rosen drags him away.
