Chapter 65
Chapter 65
The sense of superiority and foresight that Aurelia had felt since her rebirth had now completely backfired in front of Jacob.
Aurelia looked at him with a hint of resentment and wariness, saying, “Mr. Miller, you have sacrificed so much for me. If I still don’t appreciate it and refuse you, then I really don’t know what’s good for myself, and your favor upon me would be in vain!”
“Haha, Aurelia, you have a way with words. Since you have agreed, then let’s settle it this way!”
Jacob’s face lit up with a joyful smile as Aurelia finally nodded in agreement. He had been devoid of one for quite some time.
Aurelia forced a smile, but inside, she felt like crying.
If she had known, she wouldn’t have rushed to Xandenia. She should have researched Jacob and made a plan instead of being caught in this situation.
When she finished bathing and changed her clothes, she looked at her watch and realized it was already 7 in the evening.
Aurelia glanced at her phone and saw five missed calls, but none were from Scott. She felt a slight sense of relief.
Before coming to Xandenia, she had told him to call her if anything was important when he returned to school.
Since she had received no calls yesterday or today, at least it meant he was fine after returning to school, so there was nothing to worry about.
“Is someone calling you?”
Jacob, who had also finished dressing up, walked elegantly toward her. Seeing Aurelia looking at her phone with a faint smile, he felt a strange sensation in his chest. It was as if something had stirred him, causing his heart to thump heavily several times.
This was not a good sign. He thought to himself, “This woman has caught my attention and my heart.”
Aurelia answered, “Yes, it’s someone from the company. It’s probably nothing important. Aren’t you hungry? Let me treat you to dinner. Otherwise, you might complain that I only offered you a drink at lunch and didn’t even let you eat enough!”
“Haha! You’re such a grudge–holder. I just casually mentioned it, and you remembered it? I’ll treat you to this meal as an apology, okay? By the way, what do your parents call you at home?”
“Aurelia. Why? Don’t tell me you want to call me like my parents do. That won’t do!”
After Aurelia casually answered, she swiftly gave him a word of caution.
“Why not?” Jacob turned his head and asked in confusion.
“You’re a year younger than me, so calling me by a nickname is inappropriate.”
“Hmph, I thought it was something else. Even if I’m a year younger, I am still your man, and you’re my woman. It’s appropriate for a man to call his woman by a nickname, right?”
Jacob continued, “Besides, don’t call me Mr. Miller anymore. It makes me uncomfortable. It feels like you’re calling me with no sincerity. After all, that’s for outsiders. From now on, call me by my name, Jacob! Got it?”
With a face full of manly expression, Jacob finished his words, and Aurelia felt her forehead’s veins twitching uncontrollably
twice.
She sighed again and thought, ‘People shouldn’t be judged based on first impressions. They only reveal their true nature when they are alone.
Can this jerk Jacob be more domineering? He even wants to be called Jacob.‘ Aurelia felt very awkward just thinking about it. She wasn’t familiar enough to call him that!
“Aurelia?”
Jacob saw her silent and immediately lowered his head, leaning close to her ear, and whispered.
Suddenly, Aurelia felt goosebumps all over her body. Even the tiny hairs on her face stood on end.

Jacob’s eyes were only half of an inch from her face, so he naturally noticed these subtle changes and burst into laughter.
“Interesting! Interesting! Do you find it a little cheesy and uncomfortable, Aurelia? It’s okay. You’ll get used to it naturally with time. It seems I need to make even more effort!”
“Mr. Miller!” Aurelia really couldn’t smile at this point.
“Aurelia, did you forget what you should call me? I said you should call me Jacob in the future. Mr. Miller is for others. If your accidentally forget again, I might have to call you Aurelia in front of everyone!” Jacob said.
“It’s a threat! It’s a blatant threat!” Aurelia exclaimed inwardly.
Aurelia couldn’t protest because she believed Jacob could do such a thing. The way he acted in front of others was quite frivolous anyway.
He was a scion himself. Even if Jacob called her Aurelia, people would think he had found a new lover. It would be embarrassing for her, though.
Even if Jacob called her Aurelia before Channing, how would Channing think of her?
Naturally, it was a fact that she and Jacob had been intimate, and others would know it, eventually. However, being known was one thing, and making cheesy gestures in front of everyone was another matter.
Aurelia didn’t want to be that shameless person.
Obviously, Jacob wanted to be shameless if she didn’t agree to call him Jacob.
“Aurelia? Still not decided?”
Putting a mischievous smile, Jacob leaned closer to her ear again and called out softly. The warm breath on her earlobe made Aurelia itch, and she couldn’t help but wish to punch him.
In reality, she could only glare at him and reluctantly nod. “I’ve decided. I will remember to call you by your name from now on, not Mr. Miller. Is that okay? Please spare me. I don’t want to become notorious when I return to Xandenia!”
“That’s right! Don’t worry. Soon, you’ll know that being my woman won’t make you suffer.”
When Jacob lightly embraced Aurelia’s waist and walked out of the room, the two secretaries waiting in the adjacent suite beside the presidential suite heard the door opening. They immediately hurried to the corridor outside.
Seeing Jacob embracing Aurelia triumphantly and refreshed, they understood he had already won her over.
However, they didn’t show any inappropriate expressions on their faces. They still respectfully acted as if they hadn’t seen. Jacob and the hand he placed on Aurelia’s waist. They softly asked, “Mr. Miller, how would you like to arrange dinner?”
