Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Despite the intense pain she felt, Aurelia straightened her back and walked out of the room with a proud demeanor, resembling a peacock in its glory. Within a few minutes, Marcellus heard the sound of a car starting downstairs, indicating her departure.
In no time, the room that had faint traces of a woman’s perfume before, now only had the two signed divorce agreements on the bed, and Marcellus was left alone.
Aurelia was relieved to be free from this marriage. She didn’t dwell on it or feel too upset. Compared to Marcellus, who was destined to become a thing of the past since the moment of her rebirth, Aurelia now cared more about the pain in her body.
She endured the beads of sweat that formed densely on her forehead and the tip of her nose due to the pain. Despite that, she maintained a speed of 80 miles per hour and drove steadily forward.
Her brand–new life had just begun, and she didn’t want to leave this world due to another car accident.
Instead of directly heading to the county’s Women’s and Children’s Hospital and county hospital, she drove directly onto the national highway.
She was going to the neighboring county.
At present, the divorce between her and Marcellus had not been revealed to anyone, and she didn’t want it to be known so early. There were still many plans and goals that she had yet to fulfill, which were waiting for Marcellus in the future.
Divorce was just the beginning for her.
For the next four days, Aurelia was practically missing. She didn’t turn on her phone at all, and all incoming calls were automatically redirected to voicemail. No one knew where she was.
Hayden patiently waited for two days, but Aurelia didn’t call him. He suddenly realized that the woman didn’t even know his. name or his phone number, so there was no way she could call him.
However, even though she didn’t know his phone number, if she genuinely wanted to apologize and make amends, she should at least consider going to the hotel to find him.
Hayden became somewhat anxious, wondering if she had already come but was stopped by the staff at the front desk.
In light of this, he even made a specific call to the front desk to inquire about it. However, he was informed that no Ms. Swanson had been seen and that there were no messages left for him.
This made Hayden, the proud and unruly eldest grandson of the Yeager family, feel once again insulted by Aurelia.
In the end, any trace of new feelings and goodwill that he had in his heart toward her vanished.
In addition, Jacob, the top wealthy scion of the state, had already completed the tasks he had to accomplish in Navarre. Jacob had been urged to return to Xandenia, the capital city of Nuthana since yesterday. However, due to various excuses made by Hayden, he ended up staying for another day. Today, he reiterated his intention to leave. If he didn’t depart soon, his motives for staying might be questioned.
He couldn’t possibly say that he was attracted to a woman and purposely stayed behind, waiting for her to come to him.
If he were to say such a thing out loud, he would completely lose face within this circle.
Hayden pondered, “Forget it! Since Aurelia herself doesn’t know how to appreciate it, why should I waste any more thoughts on her? It’s possible that she might even start thinking she has limitless charm. After all, she’s just a woman, and how could I. Hayden Yeager, possibly not find someone better than her?”
However, just before leaving, there was something that needed to be taken care of.
Hayden calmly addressed Jacob, who had just finished a call, saying, “I lost that bet. I will handle the matter of Logistics
Team A. When you go to Druobridge, I’ll introduce you to a few people for you to get to know!”
Jacob was initially taken aback, but then a big smile spread across his face. He gave Hayden a firm pat on the shoulder.
“You’re a loyal guy. I know you intentionally let me win. I’ll remember this favor! If there’s anything you can’t handle personally in the future, just leave it to me! I’ll take care of it for you!” Jacob declared gratefully.
Jacob couldn’t possibly be unaware that during the three days of the bet, Hayden hadn’t gone out to pick up that girl at all. Even when Hayden’s subordinates had brought him information about her, Hayden didn’t even glance at it. It was obvious that Hayden intentionally let Jacob win.
Indeed, they said that those who come from big cities are different. Hayden’s demeanor and broad–mindedness set him. apart from ordinary scions.
No wonder Jacob was encouraged by his father to get closer to Hayden.
Upon hearing Jacob’s words, Hayden’s expression slightly stiffened for a moment, appearing somewhat peculiar. However, he quickly regained his composed demeanor. “No need to mention that. However, there is indeed something you need to
take care of.”
“What’s the matter?” Jacob was stunned and hurriedly asked.
“On the first night when you went out, didn’t you hand over a woman who asked you for a favor to me?” Hayden casually reminded him in a nonchalant tone.
“Oh, I remember now. The one introduced by Channing. His female classmate, or something like that. Why?” Jacob asked.
“Her father is the chief deputy sheriff of this county. He’s been going through a rough patch lately and wants to relocate to a different position. Can you take care of it for me?” Hayden replied.
“Relocate?” Jacob expressed his doubt before his gaze shifted to Hayden’s face, giving him a quick glance. His expression. immediately turned ambiguous, and he deliberately elongated his voice, saying, “Ohh… how about it? Are you quite satisfied with her?”
The smile seemed rather lecherous. Although Hayden felt the urge to punch Jacob, the former had to restrain himself at the moment. With a nonchalant tone, Hayden answered, “Not bad, I guess.
“Oh, I see. Alright! Since she pleased you, I’ll take care of this matter for her as a reward! What position does her father want to relocate to?” Jacob asked.
Jacob’s tone carried a hint of disdain and arrogance as he spoke. Though Hayden didn’t like it, he understood that in this circle, women who were willing to exchange their bodies for benefits were never respected or held in high regard.
However, he felt that Aurelia was different from other women, but he saw no need to explain that to Jacob.
“Just stay in Navarre. As for where to relocate, you decide!” Hayden said.
Hayden felt that it wasn’t appropriate for him to speak too much on behalf of Michael in this matter. Being overly concerned might come across as abnormal.
Furthermore, Jacob was the heir of a rich political family in Nuthana, and the matter of relocation would naturally have to go through his hands. In that case, it would be better to directly delegate the authority to him.
“Okay! I see. I’ll get it done in a few days!” Jacob promised.
“Alright!” Hayden nodded indifferently, and an exchange involving significant interests and positions was considered done.
“Let’s go back to Nuthana. Navarre is too small and not that interesting!” Jacob suggested.
“Okay!” Hayden said.
