After saying that, she removed her coffee–colored windbreaker and put it on the back of the couch. She then took a stack of documents from her handbag and threw it onto the table to hint Maddox to take a look. 

Then, she pressed the call bell on the table. 

After the attendant knocked on the door and entered, she began to order. 

Since she found herself being reborn that morning, her brain had been thinking and calculating almost all the time. Although she had her lunch cooked by her mother at home, she didn’t taste much because her mind was preoccupied with too many things. 

At that moment, all the appointments were arranged. So far, everything seemed to be going smoothly. She could finally relax a little and eat something. 

After the deal with Maddox was concluded, she needed to meet someone important later. It was important that she got herself mentally and physically ready for the meeting. 

The service of modern café meals was always faster than in the restaurant. 

After Aurelia almost finished her black pepper steaks, Maddox finally finished reading the share transfer agreement. 

He read through the agreement in detail and scrutinized almost every clause but didn’t find anything wrong with it. 

Aurelia slowly chewed the food in her mouth and asked naturally, “How is it? If you don’t feel secure, you can call your attorney to come and advise you. Otherwise, I don’t have much time. I have to leave before 8:30 p.m.” 

Hearing that, Maddox was even more surprised when he saw her calm and leisurely expression. 

That was because Aurelia gave him a completely different feeling that day. Compared with the past, it was like a world of difference. 

“Did she hide her true personality all this while, just like me? But why is she doing this? As the chief deputy sheriff’s daughter, she should be beautiful with strong family background and education. It was no exaggeration to say that she had everything she needed. Is there any need to cover up her wisdom and maturity and pretend to be an annoying girl? Why is she trying to sell the shares of Marcellus Corporation to her beloved husband’s rival?” Maddox thought for a long time but couldn’t think of a reason. 

Marcellus Corporation’s five percent shares really appealed to him, but he still wanted to know the reason. “Can I ask why?” 

Aurelia knew that Maddox was suspicious. Hence, she wasn’t surprised. It wouldn’t be like him if he didn’t ask. 

She smiled and turned slightly, showing an innocent and playful look. “Because Marcellus is going to divorce me!” 

“What?” 

Although Maddox was mentally prepared to hear an excuse, he was still stunned after hearing Aurelia say such a reason. 

“Divorce? Aurelia, are you kidding? Marcellus will divorce you?” 

Maddox wondered. “Did Marcellus and Ricardo lose their mind? Not to mention Aurelia’s beautiful appearance, the most important thing was the background of her being the daughter of the chief deputy sheriff. Besides, Michael had been receiving more supporters recently. Marcellus and Ricardo would know that for sure. Why did Marcellus choose to divorce Aurelia at this time? Did Marcellus‘ brain go haywire? Marcellus and Ricardo both knew why they got married. Hence, they couldn’t divorce now!” 

“Well, don’t you believe me?” Aurelia smiled and said thoughtfully, “We’ll sign the papers tomorrow. So you have to decide today because the terms of the transfer of the shares are qualified! If you can’t decide today, I will sell it back to Marcellus tomorrow, and I don’t want to sell it to him. Do you understand?” 

“I can’t believe it’s true!” 

Maddox still couldn’t fully grasp the situation, not because of the money he would spend to buy shares but because Marcellus and Aurelia were actually getting divorced. 

“Does Ricardo know about this?” 

“What do you think?” 

“How could Ricardo agree with such a thing? Has he lost his mind too?” 

Maddox was perplexed. “Did something happen that I should have noticed but didn’t?” he wondered, 

“Let’s not discuss if he has lost his mind. Perhaps they think they have a better and brighter future?” 

Aurelia’s smile looked cold! 

She had the final say if they wanted Yves as their backer! 

Maddox witnessed that scene and couldn’t help but feel surprised. 

Seeing Aurelia so different that day, he knew that no matter what Marcellus and Ricardo had done in the dark, their plan. would fail after that day. 

No matter how successful a businessman was, he would always be a merchant. There was no way he could fight with ant official. 

Especially when Michael was the chief deputy sheriff with power, unlike some other deputy sheriffs, it would obviously be a wrong choice to dump his daughter. 

However, Aurelia was also a woman that was not easy to deal with. Although she had absolute lethality and charm to men in all aspects, she would seem like a pretty but dense bimbo in front of them. 

If she were in front of Marcellus and repeated what she did that day, Marcellus would have been attracted by her. There was no way he would divorce her.
