Chapter 65
Jean glanced at Neera without any expression.
After a moment, he slowly said, "Let go."
Neera hesitated and said, "I won't let go. We're neighbors. Can't you give me a ride? My son even gave you a concert ticket for free! It's not how good neighbors should treat each other."
"The way good neighbors should treat each other?"
Jean chuckled and replied, "Ms. Garcia, I know more about this than you do."
Neera was taken aback and unable to react.
Jean continued to say, "At least I didn't break your windows, your antique vase, or the plants in your yard."
Neera fell silent. Although she did not want to admit it, his words were true.
Jean said, "What's the point of talking so much? I have already compensated you for the broken things. You're so petty!"
After speaking, she glared at Jean and turned around to leave.
She really had no patience at all.
Jean coldly said, "Three seconds. If you don't come in, I'll leave."
Three seconds?
Neera was stunned.
She wanted to leave with dignity, but the situation did not allow for it.
The rain was pouring heavily. She could not just wait here forever.
Neera had no other choice and shared the same umbrella with Jean.
Thus, the two of them walked shoulder to shoulder in the rain.
Although they may have seemed close, Neera intentionally kept some distance from Jean.
Jean noticed Neera's was getting wet and said, "Move closer."
Neera subconsciously moved closer to him. However, there was still a small distance between them. Jean remained silent upon seeing that.
Although he had already helped Neera, her shoulder was still quite wet.
When they reached the car park, Jean asked calmly, "Where did you park your car?"
Neera responded, "I took a taxi here. Are you really that petty to refuse me a ride?"
Jean replied, "What if I say I am?"
"If that's the case, I'll borrow money to pay off your debt. Then we'll be even. But don't come to me if you're in pain or sick; I won't help you!" Neera said it firmly.
Ian could not help but chuckle slightly at Jean, who was being threatened for the first time. He hurriedly said, "Ms. Garcia, please don't take it seriously. Mr. Beauvort is just joking with you! Let's get in the car quickly."
Neera hummed and got into the Rolls-Royce beside her.
