The Enchanted

Chapter 1: The Statistics

If you’ve found this book, then the normals have finally won and the Enchanted are gone. I don’t really know how to put into words how I feel about being so much a part of both the creation and the demise of an entire race of beings, but since I didn’t get much say in the matter, I guess I just feel sad. Sad for the loss of life during the Event, sad for the lonely lives forced on a group of young people who never asked for it, sad for the loss of the only people who could have truly saved this world, sad for the fear, hatred and anger from both sides that led to our seeming destruction.

This is the history of the Enchanted. I’ve been there since the beginning, and while not uniquely qualified to tell the story, I think I’m the only one who cares to. Please understand, this is not an indictment of humanity, just a warning that you can’t always control that which you create. And that your responsibility does not end at its creation. It’s also a notice, that no matter what you think, no matter how complete you believe your genocide to be, you are wrong.
