Chapter Prologue
Alexander’s POV
I dropped to my knees in respect in front of my father who was watching me with a stoic expression from his throne. I dared not meet his gaze, “Father.” I bowed my head low before the demon.
The ghost of a cruel smile flashed across the demon’s face before he spoke, “It is good to see you awake, my son.”
I said nothing for a moment. It didn’t really sound like he was too thrilled to see me. “You called for me, father, of course I came.”
I knew he could barely stand me. He’d told me about how he’d saved me from my previous life in which I’d been a weak half human. He’d brought me back from that weak existance I could no longer remember and restored me to my full power; because of that I owed my life to him and I would do anything for him. I was grateful to him, he’d saved me.
I was a demon after all, I was supposed to be ripping humans apart and enjoying myself and that was not what I’d been doing in my last life, according to the demon that is. He’d killed off my human half and now I was a demon, just like him.
I owed him everything because he freed me from my mortal half.
“I am glad that you came so quick.” He praised me a little with his emotionless voice and I felt pleased with myself. “I have a new task for you.”
My eyes flashed dangerously and I risked looking up. I licked my lips hungrily, I could taste the human flesh already.
Bloody and soft flesh to feed my never ending hunger.
I’d only been truly alive since the demon had brought me back and it had only been a few weeks since that day. I was always hungry so he sent me out from time to time to wipe out a few human cities that be thought to be troublesome.
I lived for those missions.
I lived to kill.
“There is a certain… person who I need you to kill. She is a troublesome little vampire and I want you to rip her to shreds with your bare hands. I am sure her newly turned blood will satisfy your thirst.”
Excitement burned in the pit of my stomach and I needed to force myself to stay on my knees with the amount of adrenalin that was suddenly coursing through me, “A newly turned female?” I questioned curiously and a wild grin broke out across my face, “I will kill her easily.”
The demon smiled at my answer, “Her name is Ash Carson.” He watched me curiously, as if waiting to see my reaction to the name and I frowned.
“Ash Carson.” I repeated the foreign name and shook my head when I didn’t recognize it. “I’m sorry but I do not know who that is… Is it someone I knew in my previous life?”
The demon laughed loudly, “No, she is just an insignificant girl.” His eyes glinted evilly in the little light there was, “Will you accept? Wil you go kill her for me, my demon son?”
There was no doubt or hesitation in my voice, “Yes father,” I knew the demon knew what was best for me and I felt my fangs lengthen in my mouth with anticipation, “I will kill her.”
“Splendid.” The demon said happily.
