The Curse of a Silly Deal

Chapter Emily

EMILY KING POV

“Emily,” A hoarse voice boomed through my ear.

I open my eyes. Only to see piercing blue eyes staring back into my own brown orbs. I slowly rolled to the left side turning my back. Trent is sitting on the chair beside my bed.

“I’m not gonna apologize,”

“What are you doing here?” I spat at him with venom in my voice.

“I am responsible for that scars I put on your body, remember?” I can imagine the smirk on his face as he says those words.

Ugh! What a jerk!

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” My blood boiled at the thought of my scar.

“From what I know, nobody ever put a scar on your body. Oh, well. It does surprise me that I am far stronger than you. Wait! Did the King say something like ‘whoever can beat my sister will be granted a wish’?”

I perk up remembering Blake had said it for the whole world a few years back. My brain began to whirl in thought.

Guess, my memory comes back.

What will Blake do if he knew that I got stabbed?

Will he get mad?

Will he kill his own best friend?

Will he..believe it?

Wait, I collapsed. There’s no way he didn’t find out about this.

What about Joel?

“Joel...” His name trail over my lips.

“Forget that man. Can’t you remember he’s our enemy?” Trent said, annoyed.

“Enemy? How dare you speak about him like that when you’re the one who stabbed his own best friend’s sister?!” I sat up straight.

“That man is full of tricks!”

“He’s got none!!” I raised my voice.

“Yes, he does! When he sees your scar, he thinks that his wish will be granted by the King. He’s using you!!”

“Lies!!”

“It’s such a waste that you fall off the cliff and forgot your memory,” He rolled his eyes.

“Y-you saw it?” My eyes went wide at his words.

“Mmhm,”

“Well, I don’t care! You have no proof that Joel lies to me!” I stand up, but he grabbed my waist roughly sitting me in front of him once more.

“Listen to me and listen well. Who doesn’t know you? Emily, the unbeatable princess? Hmm?” He asked as he stares straight into my eyes.

I shiver as he put his hand on my bare shoulder considering I was in my nightgown.

“I-I ..uhm..well..”

“You already know the answer. Don’t tell me your memory hasn’t come back fully yet,”

I zipped my mouth in realization. What Trent said is true. Everyone should have known who I am.

Was it all a lie then?

I frown. Joel looked so sincere then.

My frown deepens. Trent saw me fall on the cliff.

Why didn’t he save me from falling into our enemy’s arms?

I scoff mentally.

Him?

Saving me?

What am I thinking?
