Chapter 47
Third person’s P.O.V
As soon as Teresa woke up, she found a gift on her bedside. “Hmm?” She slowly picked it and turned it around to see a note “Happy valentine’s day”. She felt someone watching her and she turned around to look but found her husband sleeping peacefully.
She then focused back on the gift, she smiled to herself biting her nails and entered the washroom.
“Phew! Why is it so hard?” Ryouma who was pretending to sleep woke up and sighed.
********
“If you already figured out how to bring Teresa here, then why did you bother with me anyway?” Rina yelled at Rihito.
“I didn’t know granny would convince her.” Rihito defended.
“If granny convinced her then at least you should have told me, I wouldn’t have bothered myself pretending to be sick, now she’s got entire kitchen and is killing me with those sick people’s food!” Her face twisted remembering the food.
“I know she’s so sweet, taking care of her best friend, right? Should I come too, to see my sick friend?” Rihito laughed.
“Sweet, my foot. I can’t keep up this act anymore, I’m telling her it was your plan.” She threatened.
“You can’t, she’ll kill me.” Rihito begged.
“What does that have anything to do with me? I don’t and won’t lie to my best friend. You live or die that's your problem not mine! And a jerk like you is better dead so handle on your own!” She shouted and cut the call.
“Who were you shouting at?” Teresa entered the room with a bowl of soup in her hands.
“No one. Teresa, I’m fine really. You don’t need to do all these.”
“But you always took care of me while I was sick and guess what my cooking classes are really coming handy now, I can take care of you.” Teresa smiled so brightly that she didn’t want to break the news that it was all an act. Teresa was so grateful that there was something she could do for her.
“Curse you, Rihito.” She muttered.
“But how will you attend the party?” Teresa voiced her concern.
“Teresa it’s okay I don’t need to.” Rina smiled.
“Then I’ll stay with you too.” Teresa sat on the bed and smiled back.
“No, I’m absolutely fine. We’ll go to the party, kay?” Rina immediately got up from the bed.
“But...”
“Teresa I’m absolutely fine, see I can even jump.” She jumped. "Nothing happened, I’m fine and didn’t you say he even got you a dress? If you wouldn’t go that’ll be bad so hurry up and get ready.” Rina pulled her best friend from the bed.
“Okay but what’ll you wear?” Teresa asked.
“Don’t worry about me and instead think about making him speechless.” Rina winked.
“Yes, I’ll make him speechless.” Teresa nodded determinedly.
The Valentines' Party
“I doubt she’ll come.” Ryouma sighed.
“She’ll come my friend, she will.” Rihito patted Ryouma’s back.
“And If she doesn’t, you’re dead cause it was all your idea.” Ryouma gave him a threatening look.
“And I messed with Rina just today I hope she’s not planing revenge on me, Please god, please Rina bring Teresa.” Rihito prayed.
“You mean there’s actually possibility that Teresa’s not coming?” Ryouma glared.
“No, she’ll come. Now I should pray that she comes if I want to stay alive, right?” Rihito smiled nervously.
Just then entered the girls. Both the girls looked stunningly beautiful, in fact their entrance grabbed the party’s attention. Teresa had worn the dress Ryouma got for her, the red and black ombre dress which covered her entire legs, it had a strap on the right side and sleeveless on the other. She had her wavy hair brought to her left side, she wore a red on black choker necklace with black frilly cuff attached to a ring on her right hand.
Ryouma looked at his wife and was left literally speechless.
“Make sure to complement her.” Rihito whispered, Ryouma heard none, neither Rihito nor the music, only his heart beat rang in his ears that sped up as his wife walked towards him.
“Hey beauties, you guys are literally killing it. And Teresa, you're looking absolutely stunning!” Rihito hugged Teresa. “Right Ryouma?” He didn’t reply, Rihito looked at his friend who was standing mum, stunned by his wife. “Come on now, you do have something to say, don’t you?“Rihito cleared his throat and gave a hit with his elbow.
“Umm... yeah.... you look... umm... good?” He stammered and shrugged.
“Just good?” Teresa and Rina glared at Ryouma.
Rihito rolled his eyes. “Now ladies go and pick your masks from there. It’s a mascaraed party, duh.” He smiled and sent them away.
After they were gone, Rihito glared at Ryouma, “Just good, Ryouma? Seriously? You could’ve done better than that. You need to work on your compliments too.” He shook his head.
“Look at that jerk managing to make me nervous every time.” Teresa complained. “Just good? Am I really looking just good?” She asked her bff.
“You’re looking stunning. Didn’t you find your husband difficult to find the words for you? And now look he is regretting he invited you here, he must’ve felt like locking you up away from everyone’s eyes.” Rina grinned.
“You’re just flattering me.” Teresa rolled her eyes.
“No I’m serious just look around, you’re the center of attraction and take a look at your husband too, he hasn’t taken his eyes off you.” Rina winked.
Meanwhile
“......, Ryouma?” Rihito poked his friend’s arm to get his attention.
“Yeah.” Ryouma replied looking somewhere else.
“Are you even listening?” Rihito asked as he followed his friend’s gaze.
“Yeah.” Ryouma nodded.
“You’re not.” Rihito shook him.
“Can’t we leave this party, already?” Ryouma held his head and asked in an irritated tone.
“It’s not even started yet.” Rihito pouted.
“Yeah but I’m not liking it.” Ryouma answered in an irritated tone.
“Party or the guys?” Rihito poked his arm. “Look at you, you look like you’ll murder someone.” Rihito gasped.
“I may just rip their eyes off instead or may be I should just kill you for coming up with this stupid party idea.” Ryouma smiled creepily.
“Oh my, your jealousy’s literally out of the world.” Rihito laughed.
“Laugh all you want, a day will come where you’ll be the one saying it and I’ll laugh.” Ryouma rolled his eyes.
“In your dreams, buddy, in your dreams.” Rihito laughed.
"Now excuse me." Ryouma was about to go but was stopped by Rihito. "Where are you going?"
"I didn't invite here here just to stare at her from afar." Ryouma shrugged his hands off and walked to his wife as Rihito whistled from behind.
***
“Look your husband’s coming this way so I’m out of here. Bye have fun.” Rina excused herself.
“No, please don’t leave me.” Teresa held her back.
“Teresa don’t behave like a teenager scared to talk to her crush, he’s your damn husband usually you yell at him and you hit him too, now what are you getting nervous for?” Rina looked at her astonishingly.
“But...”
“And did you forget I’m here for a man hunt? If I stay with you I’m not getting any date today. So enjoy!” Rina ran away.
“What do I do? I’m actually getting nervous? Why?” Teresa muttered, playing with her hair.
On his way, Ryouma was stopped by a group of girls.
" and wow he’s even smiling at them. Never smiled at me like this.” She turned around.
But Ryouma’s one glare was enough to make the girls away from him and he was thankful for that. He made his way to his wife, but stood still when reached her.
“But what will I say?” He thought.
“Sorry I can’t do this.” he turned around and walked few steps away but Rihito stopped him and glared at him, “Ryouma!”
“I can’t. I think I’m not well, I need to go!” Ryouma tried to leave but Rihito pulled him back.
“God! look at you getting all nervous!” Rihito laughed at his friend.
“I’ve never felt like this my entire life.” Ryouma confessed.
“I don’t think you want to leave her alone, right?” Rihito pointed at Teresa’s direction and Ryouma found some guy approaching her. “Okay, thanks.” Ryouma walked towards her.
“Hey!” The guy greeted her. “Actually bye.” The guy turned around and left.
“What’s with him?” She looked in confusion.
“Listen, we need to talk.” She felt someone pat her shoulder, and she turned around to find, it was her husband.
“Who me?” She pointed at herself and looked right and left.
“Of course.” Ryouma glared at her.
“Why me? go and talk to the girls you were with.” She shrugged and turned her back to him.
“What?” He pulled her by her arms making her face him.
“Yeah.” She turned her head to other side.
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” He raised his brows.
“Why being jealous is your copyright?” She retorted.
“I thought this topic was over. Am I not forgiven already?”
“You even apologized? ”
" After the thing you pulled yesterday, I thought we’re even?”
“Yes we’re even but that doesn’t mean you’re forgiven!” She crossed her arms.
“Okay so what do you want me to do so that you forgive me? I’ll do anything.” He kept his hands on her shoulders.
“You always say that but still end up hurting me, like always.” She stated.
“This time I won’t I swear!” He touched his neck.
“You’ll do anything?” She questioned.
“Anything and everything. I really am sorry.” He nodded.
“Okay, I have a permanent solution for your jealousy.” She smiled.
He looked at her with puzzled expression.
“I’ll give you a task and if you complete it I’ll forgive you.” She clasped her hands.
“And what is that task?” He frowned.
“It’s valentine’s mascaraed party and there are people not only from office but others too and the girls like you met just now are looking for opportunities to flirt with you, right?” She clicked her fingers.
“I’ve got a bad feeling about this, but continue.” He nodded.
“So, your task is to avoid any girl who tries to approach you. You’ll have to say ‘I have a beautiful and lovely wife.’ She paused. “And if I saw you with a single girl except me, forget about your sorry.” She grinned.
“What? That’s impossible.” He raised his voice.
“But you said you’ll do anything and everything.” She made an innocent face and looked at him with puppy dog’s eyes.
He held his head.
"and what's the time limit?" he asked.
"Until I decide you're forgiven." She smiled at him.
“So your time starts now.” She declared. “Best of luck husband!” She cheered.
