Chapter 45
“Why should I pick your call?” Teresa shouted looking at her phone which was buzzing continuously flashin her husband’s name.
She cut the call but he called again.
“Why are you calling me? Don’t you get it? I am not picking up your call because I don’t want to talk to you.” She finally answered the call and ranted.
“I know, I am sorry. Please tell me where you are?” Ryouma apologized.
“Why should I? You don’t even care!” Teresa yelled.
“Of course I care, please tell me where the hell are you?” Ryouma tried not to shout.
“Will you come here, if I tell you the address?” Teresa asked.
“Just tell me the address!” Ryouma replied.
“Okay then if you can, then pick me up from Rihito’s grandpa’s place?” Teresa smirked.
“What the hell are you doing there?” Ryouma shouted.
Teresa pulled the phone away from her ear, just then Rihito’s grandfather took the phone. “If you come here you’ll be shot at sight.” Mark Carlen, threatened Ryouma.
Ryouma immediately cut the call while Teresa laughed giving a high five to the old man.
“Tomorrow’s my granny’s birthday, so I am going there and Ryouma can’t enter that place.” Rihito told Teresa.
“Where is this place exactly and why can’t that jerk enter?” She asked.
“three hours from here and the reason why your stupid husband can’t enter, you’ll get to know once you reach there.” Rihito said with a small smile.
“Okay, Let’s go.” She suggested. “It’s 8:30pm we’ll reach there by 11:30? It’ll be a perfect surprise!” She clasped her hands.
“Well said.” Rihito smiled.
“Let’s drop by Ai chan’s place first and get a cake.” She smiled back.
“We’ll be able to get a cake now?” Rihito stared at her.
“She’s Ai-chan, my bff who do you take her for?” Teresa boasted.
“Now who’s Ai?” Rihito looked at her in confusion.
“You don’t know?” Teresa asked him surprised.
“No, I’m familiar with your two best friends but I didn’t know about the third one.” Rihito replied.
“Yeah these three make my life worth it. We’ve been together since forever and I can’t really imagine my life without them. Come I’ll introduce you to Ai. But wait a minute, didn’t you already meet Ai? I remember taking you to her bakery.” She raised her brows at him.
“oh yeah! Now I remember, Ai, the chef. Sorry it slipped my mind.” Rihito nodded.
“It’s okay, besides you only met her once.” Teresa smiled at him, taking the seat beside him and he drove off.
“Hey Ai chan, I knew you’re still working.” She greeted her bestie. “See I told ya.” She looked at Rihito.
“I am so sorry Teresa I couldn’t attend your party.” Ai said making a sad face.
“Don’t mention it, even I am not sorry for leaving the party. It’s better you didn’t come. Trust me, wasn’t worth it.” Teresa rolled her eyes and sat on the kitchen counter.
Ai and Rihito exchanged looks. “What happened? Fought again?” Ai asked.
“Oh don’t even mention it Ai-chan, I’ll literally lose it.” Teresa said with a huff.
“Okay here is something to cheer you up.” Ai presented her favorite love donuts.
“Yay! Thank you.” Teresa’s eyes sparkled as she munched on them.
“Oh I know you guys met already but Rihito hear had a hard time recalling and I don’t know if you remember him either so let me introduce you guys again, Rihito this is Ai-chan my mood cheerer, my bestie, no matter how bad my day is she always manages to lighten me up and Ai-chan this is Rihito, my ‘don’t want to mention him’s’ bff and he’s been like a brother to me, one of the best thing happened to me after my marriage to the devil.” Teresa introduced them as they waved at each other. “oh yes, it’s his granny’s b’day and we need a cake urgently.” she munched on her donut and added, “Like within half an hour.”
“Great timing! I was just baking one.” Ai replied with a smile.
“I knew there’s some sort of telepathic connection between us.” Teresa smiled.
“Of course.” Ai winked.
“Here I’ll help you too.” Teresa offered.
“Me too.” Rihito joined.
“You also know how to cook?” Teresa looked at him surprised.
“I taught your husband how to cook.” Rihito boasted.
“Wah! Guess I was the only one who knew nothing about cooking.” Teresa clicked her tongue.
“But now you do.” Ai smiled.
“Hell yeah I do.” Teresa grinned.
After their cake was ready, Teresa suggested him to speed up as it was already 9:15 and they had to reach by 12. Thanks to Rihito’s amazing/thrilling driving skills they reached before twelve.
“Whoa! This place is amazing.” They entered through the lage iron gates, the villa was few yards away. The path was surrounded by trees and in front of the villa was a beautiful garden with a small pond which looked even more beautiful with the night lights.
“My granny loves gardening and my grandy I mean grandpa built the whole place according to her liking.” Rihito told her.
“That’s so sweet of him; I love your grandpa already. But why is this place so guarded? Why is everybody carrying guns?” Teresa asked out of curiosity, looking at the men in black, holding the firearms.
“You’ll get to know it soon.” Rihito let out a nervous smile.
They entered the house but was greeted by Mark Carlen, Rihito’s grandfather that too with a gun in his hands.
“You came with a girl for the second time and what it’s a different girl today? But I already liked the previous one as my daughter in law, Rihito didn’t I warn you not to make my house your dating spot?” Mark pointed a gun at his grandson.
“sorry Teresa” He pulled Teresa in front and hid behind her.
“What the hell?” Teresa shouted.
“Bear with it, he won’t shoot you but I can’t say that for myself.” Rihito said helplessly.
“Grandy, we’re here for granny’s b’day and we’re not dating or anything. This girl is already married. And she’s like a sister to me and I told you for the thousandth time Rina is just a friend and this girl here is her best friend.” Rihito clarified.
“You came here with Rina?” Teresa narrowed her eyes.
“I’ll tell you later.” Rihito whispered.
“When did you started being ‘friends’ with girls?” His grandy asked in a threatening tone.
“There is first time for everything, grandpa. But first can you put that gun aside, I have some bad memories with it.” Teresa shut her eyes close, turning her head to the other side.
“shit, I am so sorry. You okay? Can you breathe? Grandy get that thing away already.” Rihito shouted. His grandpa immediately tossed it aside.
“I’m fine, Rihito. I was just shocked that’s it.” Teresa replied.
“Good, I don’t want Ryouma to murder me.” Rihito said with a ‘phew.’
“Ryouma?” Mark glared at them.
“She’s his wife.” Rihito gulped.
Before grandy could say anything, Teresa glared at Rihito and shouted, “Didn’t I tell you not to take that jerk’s name in front of me? I don’t know about him but I’ll murder you for sure.”
Grandy’s brows twitched up.
“my bad. I’m sorry.” Rihito apolozised.
“By the way where’s your granny? It’s almost midnight.” Teresa looked around.
“Let’s go grand pa, let’s surprise granny.” Teresa smiled at the old man.
They slowly entered granny’s room and cheered.
“Happy Birthday granny!!”
“Oh my god! What a pleasant surprise? I thought you were coming tomorrow?” Granny hugged Rihito.
“Oh Rina is here too. I knew you liked her.” Granny winked and hugged Teresa thinking she was Rina, the room was dark for her to see clearly.
“Granny, she’s not Rina and secondly Rina is just a friend, okay?” Rihito sighed.
“Sorry dear, I won’t accept you.” Granny glared at Teresa after realizing she isn’t Rina.
“What exactly is going on, Rihito?” Teresa elbowed Rihito.
“Granny and grandy, she’s Teresa, Ryouma’s wife. She’s my sister and Rina’s best friend and Rina is just a friend get that thing inside your head already.” Rihito clarified.
“Why is his wife here?” Mark raised his voice.
“Oh dear, don’t start to interrogate her.” Rosaline Carlen, glared at her husband. “Come I’ll show you your room, I hope talk can wait till morning, for now let’s get some sleep.” She showed Teresa her room.
Teresa’s P.O.V
Early morning
“Whoa! It’s more beautiful now.” I smiled admiring the view from my balcony.
There was a knock on the door.
“Breakfast is ready!” Granny said with a smile.
I went downstairs with granny. I thought Rihito’s house would be more like a laughter show but what’s with this heavy atmosphere?
“Hey grandy, Good morning!” I smiled.
He just blankly stared at me.
“What’s with this atmosphere?” I asked granny.
“He doesn’t like Ryouma.” Granny whispered back.
“but may I ask why?” I asked.
“Because they’re alike that’s why.” Granny replied.
“I am not like him.” Grandy denied.
“he’s just like you, dear.” Granny replied with a smile.
“He’s not.” Grandy rolled his eyes.
“I agree with grandy, he’s not. Grandy is far better than that jerk! ” I supported him.
Grandy smiled.
“No, they’re both alike and your husband’s the only one who has the guts to argue with your grandy that’s why he doesn’t like him.” Granny giggled.
“But grandy is really sweet husband, unlike that jerk! That’s why I’m here. Grandy, don’t worry I’m with you. I hate him too. Whatever the reason, same pinch grandy, let’s hate him with all our might. Now give me a five.” I raised my hands up but grandy didn’t so I took his hands by myself and hi fived.
Grandy smiled a bit. “Yay! you smiled, you smiled!” I exclaimed.
“I didn’t.” Grandy cleared his throat.
“Liar, liar pants on fire. Don’t lie, you smiled.” I pointed my finger at him.
“Come on grandy, we’re friends aren’t we?” I poked him and he gave me a ‘don’t bother me’ look. “Don’t give me that look, you haven’t heard? Enemy’s enemy is a friend. so we’re friends right?” I smiled.
Few minutes later
Third Person’s P.O.V
“Yay! I won! I won!” Teresa cheered as she defeated the old man in chess.
“Okay, Once more.” said the old man.
“Grandy, results will be the same. I won, just accept it.” Teresa said with a victorious smile.
“Luck wasn’t on my side, let’s do it again.” Mark arranged the chess piece again.
“Come on grandy, that’s not fair. Now even I’m thinking you’re like my husband, blaming the luck when I win.” Teresa pouted.
“See I told you they’re alike.” Both looked at Rosaline, who brought them some snacks. “Having fun? Here some snacks.”
“yay! thank you for the food.” Teresa dig in.
“say Granny, does grandy boast about his every good points?” Teresa asked the old lady.
“Yeah, most of the times.” She nodded.
“If you win, does he tell you, it was’t he who lost but your luck was strong?” Teresa asked.
“That... No, infact he purposely loses and smiles that he lost.” She rolled her eyes while smiling.
“Wah! That’s so cute and there’s my husband who’ll not praise me but say that luck was on my side, that jerk! But I don’t want to talk about him right now, don’t want to spoil my good mood. He should just rot in hell. So okay grandy let’s play one more round.” She arranged her chess pieces.
“Come to think of it, yesterday was his birthday right?” Rosaline reminded.
“Please don’t remind me.” Teresa twisted her face.
“Something happened?”

Previous night, after the party
Ryouma’s P.O.V
“Where exactly did she go?” I called her again but she doesn’t pick up obviously.
“At least let me know you’re safe idiot!” I shout to the phone.
“I know whom to ask.” I went to my mom, she would obviously know.
“Hey mom! You know where Teresa is?” I asked.
“You did something again?” She eyed me accusingly.
“I DID’T DO....anything. Okay may be I did. But you must know where she is right?” I asked.
“Why should I tell you? Ask her yourself.” Mom refused me any help.
“Ya, but the call got cut in the middle and my balance and battery both are down so at least tell me you talked to her right?” I made an excuse.
“Yup, she’s fine. She just called me few minutes ago.” She smiled.
“Okay, cool.” I grinned.
“Got ya. You thought I won’t be able to find out if you don’t pick my call? Who do you think I am?”
Morning
“Damn it, are you really not going to pick my call? Then fine even I won’t bother.” I tossed my phone across the bed and lied down. Argh! why does she drive me this crazy? I shouted in frustration and my hand hit something.
“oh the infamous gift!” I opened it. A photo frame? I turned it and saw a beautiful picture collage. There were our pictures from childhood till now and something written below every picture. There was a picture where we were pulling each other’s hair, well not much of a difference, we still do that, I smiled. Oh this was when she was crying for her chocolates that I snatched from her, she really was a chocolate lover from the beginning huh? I guess I loved to bully her then too. I laughed. Oh and this one, she cried when we were moving out. She was such a spoiled brat. And there’s our wedding photograph too, and the one of her birthdays. I smiled. “Wait, she even has my sneak pics. What the hell? Where did she get these photos from?” I talked to myself.
" Oh you’re just opening it? I thought she made you open it last night. She was so excited I tell you.” Mom smiled.
“What this?” Ryouma pointed at the picture collage.
“Yeah, I lent her the pics of course and she really put effort on that. She was working on it the entire day. I m actually proud of her not only did she planned for your birthday, she worked on her project side by side, she even baked a cake for you. I am warning you son, better treasure her.” Mom smiled and walked out.
I started to feel guilty, but I just reacted to what I saw.
I sighed, from the corner of my eyes, I saw a glittering package? I took it out, wow it's huge. Another gift? I opened it up to find my picture painted on it, which had red horns painted on the head, "Are these fangs?" I frowned. My eyes were painted dark and scary, 'do I look like this?' Below the picture it was written, Mr. Demon. I laughed. "This girl!" Oh what's this? I looked at the corner of the painting which read, P.T.O. I turned it around and there was another painting of the normal me with a crown painted on my head below which it wrote, Mr. Prince. I smiled to myself. I spotted an envelope at the side and opened it. "Remember you wanted me to show you my painting? Here a birthday gift for you. You better appreciate it, I was very busy but still managed to make it on time."
I picked up my phone and called her. “Still won’t pick up? Let me tell you wifey, if you’re stubborn then I’m your husband, I’ll also keep calling until you pick up.” I dialed again.
Teresa’s P.O.V
“Why should I pick your call?” I shouted looking at my phone. Why can’t he leave me alone? I muttered.
“Something did happen.” Granny eyed me suspiciously.
I told them everything except the contact marriage part of course. He called again.
“Why are you calling me? Don’t you get it? I am not picking up your call because I don’t want to talk to you.” I finally answered the call and ranted.
“I know, I am sorry. Please tell me where you are?” He apologized.
“Why should I? You don’t even care!” I yelled.
“Of course I care, please tell me where the hell are you?”
“Will you come here, if I tell you the address?” I asked.
“Just tell me the address!” He replied.
“Okay then if you can, then pick me up from Rihito’s grandpa’s place?” I smirked.
“What the hell are you doing there?” He shouted.
Before I could say anything, Grandy took my phone and put in on speaker.
“If you come here you’ll be shot at sight.” Grandy threatened him.
My monkey husband immediately cut the call while I laughed as we hi fived.
