Chapter 115
Chapter 115
Christy’s skin was naturally beautiful, and she did not need heavy makeup. With a light layer applied, her skin instantly looked better. A touch of lipstick outlined her delicate lips.
Christy’s transformation was complete from head to toe, changing from a professional beauty to a woman with an innate charm, captivating enough to bring a kingdom to its knees.
Even standing next to the dazzlingly handsome Joshua, she did not lose her presence.
At Galaxy Mall, countless men turned wherever Christy and Joshua went.
They looked like a perfect pair, exuding elegance together.
“Are they celebrities?”
*He’s so handsome, and she’s so beautiful! They’re like a prince and princess from a fairy tale!”
People speculated curiously.
Joshua’s gaze never left Christy.
He never expected Christy to possess such an alluring charm, standing beside him without losing her shine.
Now, he somewhat regretted letting her dress up like this. With her newfound beauty, wouldn’t she have more reasons to attract other men?
“Let’s go! We’re leaving.” Joshua says with a stern face, using a cold voice.
Christy wanted to leave already.
Joshua dragged her along for a shopping spree, spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on her. Even though it wasn’t her money, she felt the pain.
Joshua’s willingly leaving was precisely what she hoped for!
When they returned to the museum, the security guard’s attitude toward Christy changed instantly.
“Esteemed sir and beautiful lady, welcome to the art exhibition.” The guard bowed respectfully.
His attitude changed completely.
Appearances mattered, as proven once again.
It was Christy’s first time attending such a high–end event, and she felt nervous.
Joshua remained composed, holding Christy’s hand, gracefully leading her inside.
Upon entering the exhibition hall, Christy felt as if she had entered another world.
Joshua still tightly held her hand, as if she were his accessory.
Embarrassed, Christy withdrew her hand.
“What’s wrong? Now that you’ve achieved your goal, you want to abandon me?” Joshua asked, half–jokingly.
“Why did you follow me to the art exhibition?” Christy still felt conflicted about this.
“Silly woman, can’t I have an invitation too?” Joshua asked proudly.
“Isn’t your invitation from me? I don’t feel at ease with you alone in this kind of place. What if you attract other men and cheat on me? So, I decided to personally supervise you.”
Upon hearing this, Christy felt deceived.
Wasn’t Joshua admitting that all this was his arrangement?
Yesterday, when she called Joshua, informing him about the business trip and art exhibition, he seemed indifferent. She thought she had gained two days of freedom to enrich her life.
Little did she know, everything was premeditated by him. No matter where she went, she couldn’t escape Joshua’s grasp.
Ernest probably conspired with Joshua from the start.
Offering her the invitation because he had no time was clearly Joshua’s idea. Ernest was a great actor!
And why did Joshua appear in front of her when she went to Galaxy Mall to buy clothes?
There was only one explanation. Joshua had been following her, knowing her every move.
Initially, seeing Joshua’s decent performance in front of the children and employees, Christy started to develop positive

feelings toward him, gradually improving her attitude.
But as it turned out, Joshua was still a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
She hated the feeling of being manipulated and arranged.
Annoyed, Christy glared at Joshua and said. “Alright, Mr. Melendez, thank you, but I want to look at the paintings now. Please don’t follow me. Let’s each enjoy the exhibit on our own.”
After saying this, Christy walked away in her high heels, leaving Joshua with a defiant silhouette.
Joshua’s smile vanished instantly.
Why did this infuriating woman always have to oppose him?
That day, Joshua overheard Christy talking with Kellen about her interest in art exhibitions. That was why he had Lorene prepare two invitations.
He had wanted to surprise her with a romantic evening and to live up to his daughter’s expectations.
But Christy showed no gratitude and continued to be cold toward him.
No woman had ever dared to reject Joshua like this, yet Christy challenged his limits time and time again.
It felt as if a raging beast lived inside him, and he was holding back.
He didn’t know when he would lose control and do something crazy to the arrogant Christy.
Christy had no idea she had provoked a lion awakened from its slumber.
She became engrossed in the famous paintings on display.
The exhibition showcased many masterpieces from both domestic and international artists.
Indeed, the masters‘ style was unparalleled.
Christy was drawn to a painting of water lilies.
Wearing a blue dress, she walked in front of the painting. The combination of her beauty and the elegant, classical museum setting made her look like a beauty who had just stepped out of a painting.
Her presence immediately caught the attention of many men.
A young man in a black suit approached her and struck up a conversation.
“The concept of this painting is quite lofty. The artist uses water lilies to express their noble character, unwilling to conform to the mundane world,” the man commented expertly.
“Sir, you said it so well. I never imagined you would have such a deep understanding of this painting. I’ve learned something new today!” Christy was intrigued by the man’s words and couldn’t help but pay him more attention.
The man was refined and elegant, with delicate features. He was a handsome man.
The handsome man gave Christy a captivating smile, and his eyes were full of affection as he said in a seductive voice. “Beautiful lady, your demeanor has utterly enchanted me. I believe I have fallen hopelessly in love with you. I would like to invite you to dinner tonight. Would you do me the honor?”
His gaze was fixed on the stunning Christy, who stood out among the crowd.
Today, Christy was his prey.
It wasn’t vanity. The man was a local celebrity known for his good looks, and most women couldn’t resist his invitations.
He fully expected Christy to accept his invitation, but her expression darkened, and she coldly said, “Sir, I’m sorry, but I came to see the art exhibition, and I have no interest in having dinner with you.”
What?
The handsome man was both shocked and angry.
“How dare you reject me? Do you know who I am?” He yelled in anger.
Christy replied, unimpressed, “I don’t know, and I don’t want to know.”
With that, Christy turned and walked away.
She had thought the handsome man was a cultured young man there to appreciate the paintings, but it turned out he was just another scoundrel.
His approach was as shallow as Joshua’s.
