Chapter 18

Chapter 18

I woke up in complete darkness. It felt cramped, as if I were confined to a small room.

I didn’t know where I was or what was happening. I couldn’t quite recall what had happened last, and how I ended up in this situation.

I tried to move, to break free, but then I realized that my hands and feet were bound. Where am I?!

“Take her inside the room.”

I heard a voice, but it wasn’t clear. It sounded like it was coming from a distance or there was something obstructing my hearing, making the voice unclear.

I gasped in surprise when I felt my b*dy being lifted, and in an instant, I felt myself landing on a hard surface while seated.

The surroundings suddenly brightened, and I had to squint because my eyes didn’t adjust immediately. I blinked several times until I slowly opened my eyes and saw someone standing in front of me, holding a handkerchief.

“Wh–who are you?”

I slowly turned my gaze because the men standing in front of me were not familiar, but with it came a rapid and strong pounding of my heart in fear. In a moment, I heard applause, and the men in black suits suddenly parted in the middle.

When I saw who was clapping and walking towards me, everything suddenly came. rushing back.

“How dare you.

Their laughter echoed throughout the dimly lit room. The only light I could see came. from above, shining down on me.

“Is this really how desperate you’ve become just to get what you want? Do you have to resort to kidnapping me?”

this to torture you. And

My jaw clenched, and my gaze shifted to her. This wasn’t right. I knew they were evil, each with their own malevolence, but I never thought it would come to this.

“Oh, why don’t you ask for help? Why don’t you scream? Scream for us! Show your fear!” Victoria taunted, playing with my hair.

I furrowed my brow, knowing my life was in danger, but I had to calculate my moves. A wrong word could provoke them.

The three siblings looked at each other and burst into laughter when I didn’t respond. Their voices were so loud and irritating that I couldn’t help but comment.

“I’m keeping quiet because it’s pointless to shout for help here. I’m not stupid not to understand that you brought me to your territory, and I’m alone here.”

With that, they fell silent. Isabella took a step forward. placed her hand on her waist, and slowly leaned her face towards mine.

“That’s right. You’re completely alone here. No one is coming for you, no one will be able to rescue you from our merciless hands.”

I bit my tongue to restrain myself from saying anything further. In a moment. Dominic crossed my mind. He must be looking for me, worrying about me.

“What do you want from me?” I asked the three of them, diverting their attention to

  1. me.

“You already know the answer to your question, so why bother asking again?” replied one of them.

1 clenched my fists even though they were tied, and my gaze joined theirs, shooting daggers through their souls.

“If this is about my children, you already know my answer. I won’t give them to you. and it will never happen.”

“We expected that to be your response.”

Charlotte suddenly snapped her fingers, and in an instant, two of their security personnel appeared behind me, surrounding us. In a moment, I screamed loudly as my entire b*dy got electrified. My b*dy trembled for a few minutes, and afterward, my muscles felt weak.

My eyes darted around as Victoria stopped in front of me, tauntingly grinning at me while staring into my eyes. I wanted to move and try to fight back, but they electrocuted me again, causing another uproar in the entire room.

They tortured me repeatedly, and I screamed in pain over and over until I was almost fainting. They didn’t stop laughing. This was getting too much… it’s not right. I’ll sue

them.

They really want me dead.

“This is what you need to remember, Serena. You’re just a peasant clinging to

opportunity to rise. No matter how many times you deceive yourself, the idea remains that you came from the mud and will forever be mud.” Isabella whispered near my l*ps.

“And besides, our parents won’t stop searching for your twin. They belong in our care, and they will continue our bloodline. Just as we repeatedly tell you. If they end up in the hands of someone like you, they will end up useless, just like their mother.”

And then they left me alone in the room. I tried to resist the pain and the drowsiness to avoid passing out, but my eyes were slowly closing.

They turned off the lights, and the whole room darkened. The only light I could see was the one near the door. As it closed, darkness engulfed me completely.

And I eventually lost consciousness.

I woke up hearing a faint whisper not too far from me. I tried to open my eyes, and I saw light coming from the slightly open door.

Are they here again? What are they going to do to me now?

I attempted to move my b*dy, but my muscles, skin, and bones felt numb. I couldn’t feel them because of the electric shock from earlier.

“I’m going to kill them…”

My forehead wrinkled as I heard a familiar voice, but I couldn’t quite identify whose voice it was. I slowly lifted my

face to see, but due to the ligst me, I couldn’t make out his features. He knelt in front of me and began untying the ropes on my hands and feet.

“D–Dominic?”

I felt that he paused for a moment, but it was brief as he continued. When the ropes. around my hands and feet loosened, 1 sensed my b*dy floating as if someone lifted me.

“L–let go of me…” I gulped, “Please don’t hurt me…”

He didn’t speak, but based on how he held onto me, it seemed like he was handling me delicately, as if I were a rare diamond that he couldn’t afford to let go.

“I’m going to get you out of here.”
