Chapter 53
Chapter 53
She appeared in front of him tonight, stirring his pity. But just as he was about to give in, she wriggled out of his grasp.
He was pissed.
"Stay!" he barked coldly.
Allison didn't stop, or rather, she didn't dare to. However, just as she was about to leave the yard, a strong arm hooked around her slender waist, pulling her back abruptly, her back slamming into his firm chest.
"Let me go!"
Allison tried to break free in a panicked struggle, but Lucian picked her up, carried her to the bedroom, and placed her on the bed.
It took Allison several attempts to sit up, completely drained. Lucian noticed on her hand where the IV had been; it looked like the needle had been forcibly removed, almost tearing her vein.
The IV bag hanging by the bed was still more than half full.
His expression darkened.
"Allison, this stunt of yours is seriously low," he said, grabbing her chin, "I told you to go, but you didn't. Instead, you crashed my car, showed up in front of me, and now you're trying to play me with this cheap trick. Fine, I'll play along..."
He leaned in, planting a hard kiss on her lips. As Allison struggled, tears wetting the corners of her eyes, her sobs swallowed, and her resistance seemed futile.
His familiar scent engulfed her.
Allison thought about their child.
Just yesterday, she lost their child.
Her mother was missing too.
Tears rolled down from the corner of her eye, sinking into her silky hair and disappearing into the silver-grey pillow.
Lucian felt a cold droplet on his face, and he let her go. She was panting heavily, face wet with tears, her clear eyes red-rimmed as if broadcasting her boundless grievances.
He reached out, his fingertips wiping away the tears at the corner of her eyes.
Choking on her words, Allison said, "I know you hate me. I know you don't want to see me. Don't worry, and I won't appear in front of you again. I won't shamelessly seduce you... I'm just a lowly maid, and I'm not worthy of standing next to someone as noble as you. I won't daydream anymore. Please let me go_
Seeing her like this, Lucian felt irritated.
He let her go and stood up.
Looking at her trembling and scared demeanor, he said coldly, "Fine, you want to leave, huh." He scoffed disdainfully, "You're right, a woman of low status, truly repulsive! If you want to leave, wait till tomorrow morning, so I won't have to deal with any trouble if something happens to you after you leave my place"
With that, he turned on his heel, slamming the door shut behind him.
Under the covers, Allison cried silently, filled with pain.
In his study.
Lucian irritably swept the documents on his desk onto the floor.
