The Billionaire's Bite

Chapter 80

me to go along but I refused because I was shy, they might be further away because of me.

"Come on Anna," Mitch spoke after a while and seemed to be waiting for me. We went down together and Diego and Elsa went home first. You and I quietly wait for a ride from outside the building. Later on, Mitch's pick-up came and offered I waited a few more minutes to wait for the rain to subside but the result was the opposite of what I expected happened because the rain poured even harder and it seemed that it didn't want to send me home.

Because of the force of the rain, I couldn't see the passing cars anymore and I couldn't even see the taxis that I wanted to take. After a while, I was surprised when a car suddenly parked in front of the company and I was surprised when Daruel got out of there.

He quickly got down from his car with an umbrella.

"How are you?" He asked as he caught his breath from running.

"I'm good," I replied sparingly, "did you pass by?"

"I was on my way home when I saw you here, come home with me," he begged. I had no choice so I agreed. He immediately opened his umbrella and supported me until I got into his car. A few seconds later we left, the two of us being silent as we walked the way home until he opened up a conversation.

"Long time no see." He promised with a smile while his gaze was still focused on the road.

"I guess you've been too busy because I rarely see you anymore," he added. I only nodded in response. I don't know why I feel like I have had no appetite since this morning. "Are you okay?" I didn't expect him to ask.

"Yes, maybe just a little tired from work," I answered. A few minutes passed and we arrived at the condominium and he parked the car. 'Thanks for the ride," I promised when he opened the door for me.

"You're welcome, if you need me I'm always here," he answered.

I smiled at him and nodded. "I'll go first, I still have something to do," I lied. He nodded so I went up first.

After I arrived at Thea's condo, I immediately went to my room to take a shower. A few minutes passed before I finished taking a shower. While I was drying my hair, I thought of calling Grandma.

The phone is ringing...

"Hello Anna, have you been summoned?" A wide smile immediately appeared on my face when I heard his voice.

"Hi Grandma, how are you?"

"I'm fine here, how are you?"

"I'm fine, I miss you so much, Grandma..."

"Me too. If only I could visit you there, but my knees are weak so even if I wanted to go to you, I couldn't."

"Let it go Grandma and when I have a free day I will visit you. I'm still a bit busy right now."

"Don't worry about me Anna, take care of what you have to do there first because I'm fine here." "Is that so..."

"Take a rest dear I know you're tired, I love you so much grandchild," she promised softly.

"I love you too grandma." That's all and she ended the call.
