Chapter Fight Until The End
After I challenged Anderson, my father and mother ran towards me, pleading, begging me to reconsider. The worry within their eyes had no effect on me anymore and I stood there as still as a statue as they tried to make me rethink things with no prevail.
But my wolf was ready for this, we had never been more ready for anything in our lives and she pushed them away with her snout before she turned and waited for that cocky, smug asshole to shift and give us the fight we deserved.
I snarled once, enticing him to shift but he continued to stare at me while the crowd sat back watching the two of us closely. I could feel how tense they were but it only fueled me on, giving me the encouragement I needed to win this pack back.
When Anderson finally shifted, his wolf was confused at my appearance and I almost caught his apprehension for a split second before he stalked towards me. Before I met Branson, I used to pounce at first chance but he taught me to assess my surroundings before a strike, to watch my competition and analyze their weaknesses. Within just 10 minutes of seeing him, I already knew his weakness, his pride.
He lunged at me several times but with my increased agility I dodged every one of his attempts causing him to become angry. He started slipping and I got multiple licks on him without any retaliation, biting and nipping at him every chance I could get. His fur was soaked with blood and dirt. But even though I was tiring him out little by little, his stamina was a force to be reckoned with. Every time I knocked him down he just got right back up and his arrogance was diminishing with every strike, instead replaced with anger.
He continued stalking around me as I stood there waiting for him to make another move. I had already fought him and I knew that he didn’t fight fairly. I also knew that he attacked when he thought I wasn’t paying attention but every since I met Bronson, I knew when to attack and when to deflect his advances.
Sure enough, when he made it to my tail, he lunged forward but my wolf moved and spun around so quickly it made him fall flat on his face. He growled from the ground then got up and cocked his head at me. I wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of winning any round, or the entire fight at all.
He lunged again but I moved then landed a hit to his hind leg as he rushed past me. Blood ran down my paw as he growled out and attacked again. He was quick with the return but I was quicker and I managed to claw him across the chest. We continued back and forth until he managed to knock me to the ground and pinned me beneath him.
Growling in my face, I snapped at his snout and made him yelp in pain as he jumped off me letting me get out from underneath him. As I sat waiting for him to retaliate, I heard the crowd cheering and it gave me more energy to charge at him while he was still nursing his nose.
He looked up just as I was about to make it to him and swung his paw at me, hitting me in the head and throwing me into the crowd. My head hit the ground hard, making me black out and as hard as I tried to fight it, my eyes shut and I felt defeated.
Everything around me was dark, quiet, still. The only thing I could hear was the slowing of my heart rate and paw prints circling me. It wasn’t suppose to end like this, I had him right where I wanted him. I was slowly succumbing to the darkness when I heard a familiar voice in my head.
“Red? Red, I’m almost there, hold on just a little longer.”
I thought I was hallucinating as I played the fight over and over in my mind how we continued advancing at each other, one swinging and the other dodging, snapping and growling as our tempers rose egging the crowd on. I could hear the hope in everyone’s voices as they cheered when my hits connected with his body, but I also heard the fear when I fell and didn’t get back up. I wasn't going to let it end like this, I was going to fight, for my mate.
I opened my eyes just in time to see his beautiful grey wolf leaping over the crowd of unsuspecting spectators. They were shaking as he landed in front of me, his heavy body falling to the ground gracefully yet full of pure dominance and strength. He was staring Anderson down with so much rage that everyone around us bowed down in submission.
He looked at Anderson with a glance that only meant one thing...death and if I weren’t lying on the ground half unconscious he would have ripped his throat from his body, leaving only remnants of his wolf but instead he came to my side.
“Red, are you ok? What hurts?”
“It’s my head, it’s throbbing but I will be ok. How did you find me?”
Before he could answer, a loud growl came from beside us as Anderson’s wolf charged towards my mate. With a vengeance I had never seen before, Bishop turned to face him and took off like a rocket and rammed the wolf, sending him flying through the air and slammed into a tree. Without stopping, Bishop’s majestic wolf ran towards Anderson, scooping him up with his snout and flinging him again into the air like a rag doll.
I could feel the cut on my head beginning to heal and I slowly rose to a wobbly standing position. I yelped as I planted my hurt paw on the ground but the pain was nothing compared to the fear creeping into my body as Anderson landed on the ground on all four paws and charged back after Bishop. They collided, chest to chest, wrapping their front paws around each other, raking their claws down the others back.
Their howls were making my ears ring and I stumbled back as they continued fighting. Bishop had thrown him down and was now on top of him trying his best to get to his neck but Anderson kicked him off with his hind legs then got up and chased after him.
They continued fighting as I stood watching the man I loved trying to kill the disgusting, pathetic excuse for a wolf who had taken over my father's pack and caused nothing but problems for everyone. As much as I wanted to keep watching, I had come here for one reason and I was going to finish him off whether Bishop wanted me to or not.
Roaring loudly, I charged towards them both just as Bishop had knocked Anderson down again and was now about to rip his throat out. He sank his teeth into his neck but before he could get too deep, Anderson sank his claws deep into my mates stomach. Fear stopped me in my tracks as the pain I felt made me scream out.
Bishop stumbled back, pulling Anderson's throat out with him, leaving the black and white wolf lifeless next to him as he fell to the ground. I shifted and fell down to my knees next to my mate as his breaths became shallow.
"Bishop! Bishop! Hold on baby, please."
I held pressure on his stomach as other members gathered around us. "Someone get the doctor, now!" I heard them shout as tears poured down my cheeks onto his naked, bloodied body.
"Red." He huffed out as he remained motionless on the ground.
"Shhhh. We're getting help, just stay with me. Please, Bishop. I'm so sorry, goddess I'm sorry." I held his head in my hands as the doctor tried to stop the bleeding.
My mate looked up at me and said, "I'm sorry, Red..." His eyes began to close and panic took over. I shook him making him open them and look at me.
"Keep your eyes open, Bishop." I yelled at him as he reached up to my face and cupped it, pulling me towards him.
"I love you, Red." He dropped his hand to my belly and said, "Take...care of my, p-pups."
When his hand fell to the ground, my heart stopped.
"NOOOOOO. Bishop, no. Come back to me!!!!!"
What the fucking hell did you do, Ember??????
