Chapter-50
Damon
Hell
~5 years later~
“I love you, hellion!” Cyra whispered as she lay in my arms.
Her sweet giggle echoed in the room.
“I love you too earthling,” I whispered.
I snuggled close to her and closed my eyes. A smile graced my lips. After a few seconds, when I opened my eyes, I was back in my room. Another dream about her; I am so surprised! (Note the sarcasm)
I’ve been in hell for the majority of my life but I truly felt it only after she left. If you think hell is a place, you are wrong.
Hell is dreaming every night about the one person you are in love with, but waking up alone. Someone rightfully said you can’t miss something you never had. But if that goes away, it leaves an empty space behind. Cyra took so much space in my life that it’s practically hollow without her. Living without her, not even knowing if she’s okay, but still surviving through the day, every single damn day; that is hell.
If I had absolutely any positive feelings about my father dearest before, they are completely dried up now. I would tell him to go to hell every time he talks to me, but that won’t make any difference considering we are already there. Sorry, I make stupid jokes when I’m angry.
It’s been five fucking years of trying to find a way back to earth, but I’ve obviously gotten zero success. Apparently, after Cyra went back, ‘the little boat’ that lets alive people go and come from hell, yes the one which she came from, broke. I have amazing luck, don’t I? Now you would wonder why my father dearest hasn’t fixed it yet. Well, it was gifted to him by Zeus and so it can only be fixed by him. Zeus, on the other hand, does not have time to do so since he’s ‘so busy’ handling the ever-growing population of Earth. And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, I HATE MY FUCKING LIFE!
I’ve been running errands for Zeus non-stop for five years so he can fix that damn boat, which is apparently the only solution to get out of this hell hole and go to my heaven, my mate, my Cyra. Now, five years to us mortals mean a lot, but for gods, it’s mere seconds. So, it is apparently not long enough to be rewarded for my work for him. Yes, I am severely annoyed and I’ve spilled a lot of blood to remain sane, though our definitions of ‘sane’ might vary.
I took out the letter she left for me and read it over again, another thing I do to keep me sane. Then, I held her infinity necklace that she always wore; The necklace that has been ’lost’ for five years.
After reading the letter, I walked down the stairs to the dining hall, a little bit calmer. I entered the dining room for breakfast.
“Good morning,” Persephone exclaimed.
“I’m very sure this morning won’t be good, like all the other ones these past few years,” I replied.
“Don’t be so sure, and happy birthday by the way,” she smiled at me.
“Whatever,” I sat down on the chair.
“Happy birthday Damon! I have a gift for you,” Hades entered the room.
“Gift?” I raised a brow. Hades has never gifted me anything.
“Yes, a gift. Is that so impossible to believe?” Hades stated.
“Well, what gift?” I continued.
“Patience Damon,” he said and I glared at him.
Uhh! This is annoying! I ate my breakfast and stood up to go up to my room.
“Wait! For your birthday, you and I are going on a little adventure. Pack everything you need in this bag.’ He said and handed me a bag.
“Where are we going?” I asked.
“Have you ever heard of a surprise?” he said.
“No, where are we going?” I repeated.
“Well, you are not allowed to know. So unless you want me to compel you to do what I am asking you to do, I suggest you do it yourself,” he said.
“At least tell me what to pack,” I said.
“Everything you think is precious enough to keep with you. You won’t come back for quite some time,” he stated.
“That isn’t suspicious at all,” I mumbled and left.
So now, I am in my room, packing things for who knows what. I kept the necklace, the letters, my mom’s pictures, some clothes and weapons. That’s enough. I then went down to the castle gate.
“Come on in!” Hades shouted from the car.
He’s happy for some reason. This is weird.
I got in and he drove silently through random paths. I looked at the way and got confused when I realized where we were going.
“This path leads to the staircase. But the staircase doesn’t open without the boat and the boat is….wait, did he finally fix it?” I asked.
“Took you long enough to figure it out,” he replied.
“So this is it? I can finally leave,” I asked.
“Happy birthday,” he replied.
My lips turned up into a smile and I grinned. Earthling, I’m coming back to you.
