The Almighty Lord Caspian by Cath Nitfisch

Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Caspian Was Never a Coward
Jonathan’s words caused the atmosphere in the room to go stale.
Naturally, Willow didn’t want the gathering to become so awkward. She picked up the glass and said to Jonathan, “Mr. Green, my
husband is quite the straightforward man. Let me toast this drink to you.” (1)
Jonathan smiled when he saw Willow backing down. “Okay. Feel free to have as many as you like. Cheers!
After saying that, Jonathan picked up his glass and downed it.
Just when Willow planned to down the glass, Caspian grabbed her glass.
“Nob*dy can force you to do things you don’t want to!” he said:
Jonathan had been eyeing Willow up and down since just now. Caspian could no longer endure it.
The sudden turn of events caused Jonathan’s expression to freeze.
“Caspian, you shouldn’t butt in,” Willow quickly reprimanded. Jonathan’s murderous gaze caused her to
feel afraid.
“Ms. Stewart, I didn’t expect your husband to be so ignorant! Being so bold doesn’t do him any good,
though,” Jonathan said.
“I will definitely lecture him about this when we get back. Mr. Green, please don’t mind him.”
Fearing that Jonathan would resort to violence, Willow could only try to smooth things over with him.
“My boyfriend is quite influential in the east of Southlake City. Someb*dy tried to create trouble in the club some time ago. Now,
he’s currently in the hospital!” Xenia flaunted.
“That’s not considered much. When I first got into this, everyone was fighting for territory ...”
Jonathan started to boast about his experience happily. He even mentioned some illegal things that he
had done, such as killing people.

“Sweetheart, you’re amazing! You’re so capable,” Xenia praised in a dainty voice.
Everyone was a bit disgusted by Xenia and Jonathan’s back and forth. What was originally meant to be a casual gathering of ex-
classmates had now turned into them showing off.
All of them were people with decent social standings. Thus, they weren’t interested in knowing what
hooligans were doing.

Only someone like Xenia would like Jonathan.
After all, she always loved being in the spotlight back in school. It seemed that she had never changed.
Jonathan and Xenia were too immersed in their world. When they realized nob*dy was paying attention,
they felt a blow to their pride.
Their ego was hurt when everyone seemed disinterested in what they were saying.
As Jonathan felt a bit ashamed, he placed his attention back on Willow.
“Ms. Stewart, I’m only going easy on you today because it’s you. Otherwise, there’d be severe consequences if someone else
disrespected me. Right. You still haven’t drunk the wine.”
“Caspian, bring the wine over quickly.” Willow didn’t want to complicate things.
“Sweetheart, why are you so afraid of him? If this happened back then, I would have killed someone as
unreasonable as him ages ago!” Caspian said sternly.
Willow was rendered speechless. She thought Caspian was bluffing again.
Willow suspected that Caspian was doing this on purpose. After all, there was no way he would throw a proper wedding for her.
Jonathan gritted his teeth in anger. This was the first time he was looked down like this since he became
a thug!

The atmosphere at the gathering became incredibly tense.
With Caspian’s words, it became even more strained.
“Mr. Green, don’t get mad. Let us give you a toast!”
“That’s right. Willow never liked drinking. She gets drunk every time she drinks!”
“Her husband isn’t very smart either. That’s why he’s so rude. Please don’t take offense!”
The few classmates quickly helped out after seeing that Jonathan was about to make a move.
Seeing that Caspian was quite robust, Jonathan knew it wasn’t wise to fight one-on-one with him.
Plus, it wouldn’t reflect well if word got out that Jonathan made a move just like that.
Thus, he could only suppress his anger.
However, Jonathan couldn’t let things slide just like that. He had to let Willow know about his background.

No woman would refuse a man with power, influence, and money. It was just like how Xenia was drawn
to Jonathan. Willow was likely no exception.
After drinking a few glasses, Jonathan came up with an excuse and left the room.
Naturally, Xenia followed him.
“Sweetheart, I didn’t expect Willow to be so ignorant. How dare that loser Jonathan talk to us so
disrespectfully! You’d better put them into place. Otherwise, they’ll think that we’re an easy target!” Xenia
added fuel to the fire.
It seemed like she wanted to stir as much trouble as possible.
“I wouldn’t let go of them so easily, of course. I’m going to call for backup right now,” Jonathan replied

impatiently.
“Especially Willow. She just loves to act all proper! Order someone to ruin her face! She won’t be
confident to show up again if that happens.” Xenia had noticed how Jonathan looked at Willow.
Thus, Xenia wanted nothing more than Willow’s face to be disfigured.
“I know that.” While replying, Jonathan went on his phone.
In the room, a classmate gazed outside.
“Willow’s husband was so rude to Jonathan just now. Do you think he will take revenge?” he commented.
“There’s a chance. He’s such a vicious person, after all. He even killed people to steal their goods. There’s
no way he’ll let this slide.”
“Willow, you guys should leave quickly. Jonathan might have gone to call for backup.”
“That’s right. You should grab the opportunity to leave now!”
“Is Xenia blind? How could she date someone like him?”
All of the classmates were asking Willow to leave quickly.
“Caspian, we should leave now. I/shouldn’t have asked you to come if I knew this would happen.” Willow
also felt uneasy.
It was better for them to leave in a situation like this.
Unexpectedly, Caspian refused to leave.
“What are you scared about?” he questioned.

“Let’s not act tough in such a situation. People like him can do anything!” Willow retorted.

“Is that right? Then let him come at us!” Caspian replied.
Based on Jonathan’s sly gaze, Caspian could tell he had his eyes on Willow.
Thus, Caspian had to teach him a lesson. After all, he was going to leave Southlake City later on.
If something like this happened to Willow during that period, he couldn’t address it immediately.
Thus, Caspian had to get rid of all of Willow’s problems now.
This way, he could leave Southlake City at ease.
“Can you stop bluffing? What if they hurt you?” Willow felt a bit helpless.
After all, Jonathan could do illegal things without batting an eye.
Willow felt that he wasn’t any different from a serial killer.
“Caspian, you should leave now. Jonathan is not someone you can deal with. Even if you leave, we won’t think you’re a coward.
It’s normal for you to run such a situation.”
“That’s right. Jonathan is really something. There’s no way he’ll lose out. You should leave right now. Your
life is more important than anything else!”
“When did you become so courageous?”
“That’s right. Everyone said that you were quite a loser.”
The crowd took turns to advise Caspian.
Caspian knew that they had good intentions. It was just that they were blunt with their words.
“Thanks everyone for your concern. However, I know what I’m doing. It’s a waste for us to go now. After all, it took much effort for
us to gather here,” Caspian said with a smile.
After saying that, he sent a message to Sylvia.
