Taming The Tiger Man - Genma Series #1

Chapter 21

Angelina lay on the bed with her gaze fixed on the ceiling. Her body was still trembling, and her eyes were slightly swollen.

Those crazy humans treated Ramaik like an animal.

Ramaik’s roar of pain rang in Angelina’s ears. She scrunched up her face while covering her eyes with her bent right arm. Her heartbeat was uneasy, and a quiet sob escaped her lips.

“Paul… what should I do?”

It was eight in the evening. It meant Ramaik was fighting in the arena.

Ramaik, I hope he’s okay.

Exhaustion made sleepiness come faster.

Angelina closed her eyes and made a promise to herself before falling asleep. Tomorrow, I will check on him.

“Doctor, wake up!”

A hard shake of the shoulder made Angelina open her eyes. She stared dazedly at the man before she widened her eyes in surprise.

“Mr. Nixon! W-what are you doing here?!”

Angelina pulled up the blanket to cover her body and stared in horror at the man who disturbed her sleep. He only wore pants and was almost on top of her!

Nixon gave her an impolite look before he rose to his feet. “Come on, Doctor. They need you.”

“W-what? Need who?” Angelina asked in confusion. Her eyes observed Nixon. That man was wearing a shirt that draped over his left shoulder.

“The animal you’re responsible for seems badly injured,” Nixon replied as he fastened the last button, then reached for the stun gun he had placed on the edge of the bed. “Come on, Doctor, before they lose their precious asset.”

Angelina woke up and ran towards the closet. “Wait for me outside. I’ll change first.”

“There’s no time! Come on. We’re leaving now!”

“B-but.” Angelina’s eyes flashed in panic when she saw Nixon open the door. In a hurry, she hastily put on her watch, grabbed one of the folded sweaters, and quickly slipped her feet into her shoes.

They left the room. Angelina caught a glimpse of Nixon taking a card from his pocket and locking the door to her room before returning it to his pants pocket. The two then walked towards the elevator in a hurry.

The elevator went down. Angelina expressed her concern. “Ramaik. What happened to him?”

However, Nixon looked at Angelina from behind the mirror before grinning. “Doctor, I see a large piece of dirt in your left eye.”

Angelina used the sleeve of her sweater to clean her face, then looked back at Nixon with a sour expression. “So, what happened—”

The elevator stopped. The doors opened. Nixon walked out as he commanded, “Come on.”

Angelina couldn’t argue. She followed the man who had walked far ahead while continuing to fix her shoes properly.

They went through door after door. The empty rooms were dark and quiet. However, it was different when they passed through the secret zoo. The aggressive roars and barks of the cats in the cages greeted Angelina and Nixon as they walked down the hallway toward Ramaik’s place.

Did he lose? Or had Reiner overdosed on him? Angelina’s heart was beating ominously. She even felt a little bit nauseous.

The woman stood uneasy as Nixon opened the last door. They entered the room where Ramaik’s cage was. The smell of blood was strong.

Ramaik curled on the floor not far from the bars. Angelina walked over to him and crouched down. The woman’s eyes widened when she saw the condition of her patient.

Red covered almost all of the creature’s tiger fur, not to mention the shredded wounds that cut into his human skin.

Ramaik looked unconscious. The tiger man’s breathing seemed very fast.

“What’s wrong with him?” Angelina stammered. She turned to Nixon. That man stood near her. “Where’s Doctor Fonda?”

However, Nixon just shrugged his shoulders while yawning. “Doctor Fonda said that the beast is now your responsibility. Earlier, the Hantu Raya took the form of Gerion.”

“How very professional of Doctor Fonda,” Angelina muttered as she retrieved the medical equipment and supplies. “So, what kind of animal is Gerion? I need to know the cause of his injuries.”

“Doctor, you must read a lot,” Nixon scoffed. “Gerion is a giant of the Greeks. He has three heads, three bodies, and three pairs of hands. It’s like giant triplets stuck together.”

Angelina was stunned. Exactly how far did Genma Corporation go? She rushed to the sink to wash her hands before stepping up to the cage door.

“Open this door.”

Nixon did not argue. He obeyed Angelina’s wishes. The woman walked in before the bars locked from the outside.

“Doctor.”

Nixon’s call made Angelina turn her head. The man slightly tilted his head towards the CCTV and whispered, “They’re watching you.”

Angelina’s eyes widened. She had forgotten about the surveillance cameras.

Angelina nodded before looking back at Ramaik. That creature was still in his original position. Thick red liquid soaked the area around him. Her patient might soon die from blood loss.

Crazy humans! Angelina gritted her teeth in anger before letting out a long breath. Focus, Angelina, focus.

Angelina walked over and then sat down at her patient’s side. The woman’s eyes searched for the most severely injured area, picked up the cloth, and pressed it. She turned her head and shouted at Nixon, who just stood watching. “Mr. Nixon, help me apply pressure to the wound!”

“Hmm, sorry, Doctor. I don’t think that would be wise.” Nixon refused by shaking his head.

However, Angelina did not accept the rejection. She gave him an angry look while scolding him. “Mr. Nixon, help me, or we will lose his life! That’s for sure!”

Nixon looked back at the CCTV for a moment. The man walked over while muttering, “I will regret it.”
