Chapter 70 Doris Asking For Help
The longer Jay and Doris stayed in the car together, the more the heat intensified between them.
In fact, Doris was quite frightened to say something back, afraid that Jay would do something to her. After all, they were not entirely familiar with each other's personalities.
"You've seen other men's manhood?" With sour face and furrowed brows, Jay's voice was coated with aggravation.
"Why wouldn't I? I'm a doctor, and I practically do that every day. Don't say that you don't know that!" Doris answered with an impatient tone.
"I..." He tried to say something, but a lump found its way to his throat as his heart sank. He was evidently uncomfortable with Doris's answer. "Why do you have to be a doctor who specializes in that? Can't you work in other departments?" Jay suggested with a grim face.
"What's wrong with that?" Doris was confused as to why he would say such a thing. 'He seems strange today. Why would he care about that?' she thought to herself.
Even her friends wouldn't question her decision on that aspect, lest he was merely someone she knew.
"Yes, I know. You have a special hobby of looking at our manhood. Yes, this must be it, right?! You went into that field so you can see male organs whenever you want!" Although he sounded angry, Doris felt like he was mocking her.
"Yes, I like it, and it's none of your business. And don't try to come clean! You like women's bodies too, right?
No wonder why you're always surrounded by them, Mr. Fang!" A smug etched on Doris' face as she retorted.
"Well, aren't your imaginations wild? It seems that you know me better than I do!"
"Humph!" Doris snorted, before continuing, "You are such a bland man."
"Go on with your talks!"
"I never talk nonsense with dogs. They always bite me!"
"Did I bite you?"
"Yeah, you bit me!"
"Sizz..." The two bickered on top of their lungs, with none of them aiming to lose to the other. Their voices filled the car until a sharp brake sound halted their ride by the roadside.
"Are you crazy, Jay?!1 Doris yelled. She hadn't gotten over the last car accident yet, and now this man had almost caused on again!
"I am not crazy!" He cast a glance at her with his eyes glimmering and said, "Doris, you said I bit you even if I never actually did. So, come on! Let's settle this matter now, once and for all." With that, he leaned over and approached her face slowly.
Hearing this and seeing how he moved, Doris was stunned for a while. Her hands tightly held the seatbelt as she anticipated his actions.
But seconds later and after figuring out what he intended, she burst out angrily.
Raising her hand, a slap landed on his handsome face.
"What the?! Why did you hit me?!" Jay roared, caressing his now red cheek.
"That's exactly what I want to do with you, Jay. Look at me! I'm not like any woman you play around with. I don't owe you anything now, and you don't have anything to threaten me. Please don't ever show your face to me again!" After that, she pushed the door open and immediately got out without looking back.
Meanwhile, Jay was left in his car, seemingly in a daze while watching Doris hail a taxi and getting in. "This woman is so hot!" he uttered with a smirk before roaring the engine to life and driving back home. Seeing as how she was ill-tempered, he figured there was no way for him to get close to her.
They just weren't compatible, and playing with her would just be sheer torture.
However, it never occurred to him that he would miss such a rude woman so much.
Especially now that the weather was perfect for cuddling, and he was alone in his mansion. So, Jay tightly held on his phone while her picture flashed on the screen.
At this moment, Doris was trying to cover the window with something in her house.
She had just checked the weather forecast and was trying to take precautions during the storm.
Her apartment was pretty old and dilapidated that it couldn't stand the strong wind and heavy rain. Moreover, this typhoon that was at least twice stronger.
So when she got home after work, her room almost flooded, and the glass dregs of her window were scattered on the floor.
Only the window frame was left, and if she wouldn't plaster something on it, her room would be a pool by the time she got up in the morning.
"God, what should I do?" She hurriedly grabbed the paper in an attempt to cover her windows. But before she could even reach it, she slipped on the floor.
"Please stop! Please!" She climbed up from the ground and bowed towards the window. However, before she could finish, another gust of wind blew, and she fell again. This time, the impact was so much painful that she almost cried.
The apartment was not big, and she had no other space from where she could secure shelter.
And while the storm ravaged, she simply crouched down in a corner and remained still.
"God, please take away the typhoon," she prayed.
Well, Doris was aware it was not gonna leave anytime soon, but she still hoped it would.
Otherwise, she was uncertain what would happen to her, given that she was alone in this grave situation.
And much to her misfortune, the typhoon ever got stronger-the wind billowed, and the rain poured down heavily.
As the night lasted like forever and by every hour, Doris felt even more desperate.
Suddenly, her phone rang.
Doris clicked on it with her trembling hand, only to find that the person calling her was Jay.
She had never thought of asking this playboy for help, but given her situation, she didn't have much of a choice.
At least she knew him, and perhaps that was enough.
So, even for a stranger like him, Doris was more than relieved that he called.
"Hello..." she greeted with a shaky voice.
Doris had always been cold-hearted in Jay's eyes, and hearing her from the other line, he couldn't believe that she was sobbing. "What's wrong with you?" he asked earnestly, inexplicably nervous or worried.
'Wait. Am I worried about her?' he suddenly thought, smirking.
"Jay, there is a typhoon in my house!" Although Jay knew what she meant, she still sounded funny with how alarmed she was right now.
As a matter of fact, she wanted to sound more dramatic and say that the typhoon had swept her away. Perhaps this way, he'd immediately drive over to her place to help her.
But Doris recognized that they just had a quarrel last night, and her pride wouldn't let her directly ask him for help.
So instead, she expressed her thought implicitly, hoping that Jay had the intellect to crack her code.
"Well, the typhoon is now in the whole city, not only in your home," said Jay with a smile on his lips.
"But the typhoon in my house is very violent!" This time, Doris' sobs were much more evident on the phone.
So at this moment, Jay finally realized something was wrong. If nothing terrible happened, this woman wouldn't let herself cry while talking to him.
She'd never let other people see her weakness.
"Is the window broken?" Jay quickly stood up and walked outside.
"Yes, the window glass is broken!" Doris admitted.
"Just stay there and wait for me!" Jay commanded before running outside to his car.
"Hey, Jay! Where are you going?" His mother, who saw him downstairs, asked with a slight alarm in her tone.
She knew how silly his son could get, and now that he had just recently came back to the old mansion, she just couldn't let him go out amidst this storm. If it was any other time, she would just let it be, but not tonight. No matter how hardheaded he was, there was no way his mother would let him leave. If something terrible happened to him, the Fang family would have no heir.
"I just need to go to the company, Mom," Jay uttered as he obviously found an excuse to leave the house.
"Mom, I think my brother is in love. Even if there's something wrong with the company, the employees can handle it themselves. There's no need for him to go over there. If he's braving this storm, it must be for a woman, Mom. I'm sure," Jay's sister, Sarah Fang, suddenly interfered, evidently teasing him with a wide grin etched on her lips.
