Chapter 969
Chapter 969
Larissa was unable to sleep the entire night because of what she'd seen at the restaurant.
She couldn't get Marilyn and Allen's smiles out of her head.
She didn't know what they meant, but she felt like it had something to do with her.
Early the next day, Larissa received a call from Marilyn.
"Larissa!" Marilyn sounded anxious. "I accidentally broke the bracelet you gave me last night! Do you know if there's a place where I could get it repaired?"
Larissa calmly told her the seller's address. "You can just head over. I'll let them know online."
"Could you come with me. Larissa? I've never bought these types of bracelets before. I don't know what it's like to repair them. What if the owner cons me? Marilyn was worried.
"I don't know, either." Larissa wasn't lying. She had never bought jewelry like this. She just thought that this was a trustworthy shop.
"If you're worried about it, you can put off the repairs. I'll ask about it another day and see if there are any reliable jewelers in Westonia." "But this is your farewell gift to me! I want to get it fixed and put it on quickly." Marilyn didn't seem willing to take her suggestion. "Please.
Larissa. Come with me."
Larissa was about to refuse, but when she looked up, she saw Lewis, who had just happened to be walking toward the kitchen. "Alright," she said instead. "I'll get myself ready and pick you up at your house."
When Lewis heard that he was about to ask a question, but then Larissa held a finger to her lips.
"Oh, there's no need! I'm the one who's troubling you. How could I make you pick me up?" Marilyn refused immediately. "Why don't I drive
you?
Larissa thought about it and said. "That works too."
"Alright, I'm heading out now!" Marilyn hung up in satisfaction.
Larissa put her phone down, her face somber.
"Who are you going to pick up?" Lewis glanced at her and bit into the sandwich that she'd just made. He scoffed. "And it's so mysterious." "Marilyn," Larissa replied.
Lewis narrowed his eyes, tensing immediately. "What are you picking her up for?"
"I had dinner with her yesterday, and I gave her a bracelet. She called me to say that she broke it, and she wants to fix it but she's afraid of being conned."
"Nope. I'm not letting you go." Lewis looked serious. "Call her right now and say that you're not going."
"I still have to." Larissa wanted to see what tricks Marilyn was hiding up her sleeve. However, she wasn't going to risk her safety for that.
"But you're coming with me." She looked at Lewis.
"What?" He was stunned.
"Didn't you say that you wanted to protect me? Now is the time for you to commit to your responsibilities." Larissa smiled. "I know that something's off about Marilyn, but I know that she's not being manipulated. She's conspiring with someone else."
o tell her.
Il Marilyn was being manipulated by Allen, it would be Larissa's responsibility to
"It's definitely the latter." Lewis was sure about this.
"Why?" Larissa didn't know why Lewis would say that. "Is there something you're hiding from me?"

He put the sandwich back on the plate and reached out to take the glass of orange juice next to Larissa. But she look it away and said. "I you don't tell me the truth, let you choke to death." Lewis gagged and choked on the breadcrumbs stuck in his throat.
Finally, he got slightly better and held his neck as he said, "Marilyn is the traltor in the company."
"What?" Larissa let go of the orange juice, and it spilled all over the floor,
