Chapter 941
Chapter 941
With a little nudge from Lewis, Larissa realized the issue. "How did Moorewell Shipping get this information?"
"That's the issue. Besides, you heard from Mr. Ackley. Moorewell Shipping's offer was slightly lower than ours." Lewis spoke in a cold tone as his pace quickened
A thought formed in Larissa's mind. "You mean, we have a mole in our company?"
Corporate espionage was commonplace in the business world. Still Larissa had never encountered it before, so she was shocked.
Lewis nodded. "He or she should be easy to find."
After all not many people in the presidential office knew about the purpose of their trip. By questioning them one by one after they returned, they could find out the source of the leak.
Seeing Larissa's solemn expression, Lewis stopped in his tracks and gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry too much about this. We
already signed the contract, and we haven't suffered any losses. We can investigate this later. Aren't you meeting Sharon for dinner? When are you leaving?" He forcefully changed the subject.
"I've called a car headed to the city now. You can go back to the hotel yourself. See you tomorrow." Larissa's mood eased slightly.
There were still several hours left before the appointed time for dinner.
Before this. Kevan had advised her to wait at Microworks Corporation if she arrived early from Thompson Medical.
It wasn't Larissa's first time at Microworks. However, it had been six years since her last visit. Everything here still felt unfamiliar to her.
She had already called Kevan before her arrival. Someone came to greet her as soon as she entered the building.
The person who came to meet her was one of Kevan's assistants. He led Larissa into Kevan's office and asked her, "Mr. Rogers is still in a meeting. Mrs. Rogers, have you had lunch? Would you like me to order lunch for you?"
When he addressed Larissa as "Mrs. Rogers", Larissa shuddered inexplicably.
"Just call me Larissa. if it is no trouble, please order something for me. Thank you," she replied.
"Of course, Ms. Larissa. If you have any other requests, you can call me anytime, I will be outside." The assistant smiled.
He exited the office and closed the door as he left.
Larissa sat on the sofa for a while. She found it boring and decided to wander around the office.
Kevan's office was meticulously organized as he was, probably because of his obsession with cleanliness. Everything on his desk and cabinets was neatly arranged in strict order.
The books in his cabinet were arranged alphabetically from A to Z. There was not a book out of place, except
Larissa suddenly noticed something unusual. There was a book shoved into a corner of his bookshelf that was nearest to his office chair.
It was a high school physics textbook, seemingly out of place in Kevan's office.
Through the glass, Larissa could see that the physics textbook was very old. Some parts of its spine were worn and the pages were yellowish
Larissa guessed that this might be the textbook Kevan used when he was in high school.
She couldn't figure out why this particular book was the one lelt among other textbooks
She gently took the textbook out of the shell.
However, Larissa trove in place as soon as she flipped the cover.
