Chapter 68
Chapter 68
Phrases like "fulfill a request of mine" oftentimes contained a huge trap.
Although Kevan was not a bad person, he was definitely no angel either. She would never dare delude herself into thinking of taking advantage of him, because she knew that this was impossible. So, she said "It's better if I transfer the money to you."
However, Kevan's attitude was not as aggressive as she thought. He even changed his mind after her words, saying, "Sure then. Transfer 1.5 million to me tomorrow."
"What?!" Larissa thought she might have misheard. "1.5 million?" She felt like an inexperienced and naive person at this moment, complaining loudly. "Isn't it just a dress? Why is it so expensive?"
But deep down, she knew that the gown really was that expensive.
"If you suspect that I'm lying to you, I'll have Vivian send you a picture of the receipt later." Kevan looked at Larissa. He was as cool as a cucumber.
Well, since he said so, Larissa could no longer question him like this.
However-
"I don't have that much money at the moment," she said with some embarrassment. Could I pay you back in installments? Or wait until my lawsuit with Travis is finished? Once I get the house, I'll sell it and pay you back all at once."
"Installments?" Kevan raised an eyebrow with some disdain. "What's your monthly salary? Twenty thousand? Even if you don't eat, you still have to wait a few years before it is all cleared, right? As for the lawsuit between you and Travis-with his current condition, how long do you think it'll take before he can accept any inquiries
from the court?"
Larissa was struck speechless by his questions,
"My apologies, Ms. Seymour. Even if you can wait for that long, I'm afraid I can't." Kevan rejected her installment payment plan suggestion at once.

Larissa felt that she was standing at a fork in the road, but one of the paths had been off entirely. Before she knew it, the elevator had reached the 19th floor, and sopened with a ding. Larissa looked out, but she could not step out of the

elevators.
They remained in a deadlock, and Kevan clearly had no intention of backing off.
Larissa hesitated and struggled before asking, "What do you mean by fulfilling a request' of yours?"
If he broached the topic now, she may consider it. If he insisted on getting a promise from her first, she would do whatever it takes to gather 1.5 million dollars for him.
Seeing that she had relented, Kevan's smile became a little obvious.
"It's simple," he said. "Pretend that you're my girlfriend."
"What?!" This was even more shocking than the 1.5 million dollars earlier. "Why?" She really could not understand.
A man like Kevan could have any woman he liked. If he wanted, he could have a real girlfriend as well! Why would he need her to pretend? It was so unnecessary.
Kevan tugged on his tie, his face contorted with disgust.
"Too many women are trying to sleep with me. It's annoying," he said. "You're the only woman I know who isn't interested in me. So, I hope to fend off the annoying ones with your help." Larissa had witnessed the terrible state he was in after Karin had drugged him, so she knew he was not lying.
But-
