Chapter 202 Bastard
When Ann got the news of his boys being injured, the dull ache of concern crept into her chest.
"Don't be afraid. They will be fine." Ann hugged Nikki tight and kissed her on the forehead.
The light of the tutor room dimed as she spoke.
Ann turned around and saw a tall figure. The man was wearing yesterday's suit. The blinding sunlight cast on him, defining his beautiful outline. But at this moment, his eyes dimed. Nikki's eyes lit up, and she stopped crying when she saw Phillip.
Suddenly, the little girl burst into tears again. She reached out her little hand to Phillip, "Daddy..."
Nikki's voice was broken because she had been crying for a long time.
Phillip saw Ann's hair messy and her clothes ragged, and Nikki's pitiful look.
A tinge of killing intent flashed across his eyes. The temperature dropped sharply even it was in summer.
Phillip stayed there and stared at Roy.
"What happened, Mr. Roy?" He asked in a frosty tone.
Roy was surprised when Nikki called the man dad, but his expression changed from amazement to fear after he locked eyes with Phillip. He peeped at Ann and the tall woman at her side.
"Mr... Mr. Phillip, it's not a big deal. It's just the kid's trivial fight. Nothing serious. I invite you here to have a steady talk between parents, and maybe we can fix it."
"What trivial fight? Her kids bullied my children! Didn't you see that?"
Although Phillip's forceful vibe put out the tall woman's arrogance, she was sure that Phillip wouldn't hit a woman. So, she held her head up high.
"Nonsense! Bob called Nikki a bastard!"
Carson jumped out behind Phillip and angrily pointed at the boy.
Jackson poked his head out from the other side.
When Ann saw the band-aid on the boys' faces and the wounds on their arms, her eyes burned with tears.
Phillip was impatient and looked gloomier than before.
"You're lying! You punched me first! Mom, help me take them down!" Roy retorted as he stretched his neck up.
Jackson looked at his poor sister and mother. His pale face stiffened in anger.
After a while, Jackson pulled Phillip's hand and raised his head. His face registered frustrated.
"Daddy, he said that we didn't have a mom, and Nikki and we are a bunch of bastards. We wanted him to apologize, but he hit me! Oh, he also warned us that his dad could kick us out of school." It was rare for Jackson to be so eloquent and offensive. Carson widened his eyes in surprise as he saw this.
Carson tilted his head towards his brother and whispered.
"I thought you didn't lie?"
"He did say that. I didn't lie."
Bob didn't retort this time because he indeed laughed at them.
The boys had been used to Bob's stupid mock. Usually, they ignored him. But this time, they escalated the conflict because Bob offended both Nikki and Ann.
Carson's trick worked. Rage crept into Phillip's head after hearing Carson's disclosure.
He narrowed his eyes at Bob and his mother.
"Bastard?"
Phillip's piercing eyes were like two rays of laser beams, making the woman guilty. Her eyes flicked to Roy's side.
"Mr. Roy, you have to follow my words if you want to keep your job."
After that, she took Bob and walked to the door.
Phillip grabbed the woman's arm with one hand hard. The woman made a series of distressful groans. Her face was distorted in pain, but Phillip remained composed. Phillip peered down his nose at her and questioned in an emotionless tone.
"Follow your words? What do you mean? Get you a million or get him fired?"
When Bob saw his mother under attack, he rushed towards the boys.
Phillip loosened his grip and gave a slight push. The woman hit right on Bob, and they fell to the ground.
The school leaders came to the door. Phillip turned around and threw them a warning.
"I don't want to see them here anymore."
The school leaders made a hasty echo.
Phillip bent down and picked up the boys. He turned around and left when Nikki's tender voice rang behind him. "Daddy."
Phillip paused.
A chill of horror swept across Ann. She hurriedly covered Nikki's mouth.
Nikki got herself off Ann's arms and trotted towards Phillip. She looked at him with a pair of puppy eyes.
"Daddy, are you leaving Nikki?"
Nikki's face was glazed with tears. Her eyes gleamed with anticipation.
The two boys quickly gave his dad a suggestive wink.
"Daddy!"
The boys knew it was a great chance.
Phillip's eyelids fluttered, and after a moment of hesitation, he decided to pick Nikki up. As he bent down, Ann stepped forward and picked her up.
"Mr. Phillip, I'm sorry. Nikki is a silly little girl. Please forgive her!" Ann apologized.
Ann lowered her head to avoid eye contact with Phillip. They were so close that Ann could hear Phillip's breath. But they couldn't get any closer, as if there was an invisible wall between them.
His eyes dimed disappointedly. His lips sealed into a thread. After a while, he picked up the boys and left.
Nikki burst into tears.
Nikki gaped after his dad, suddenly pouted, and a rogue tear streamed down her face.
Roy asked tentatively, "Bob's father donated a library last month. Do we really kick him out of the school?"
"You know nothing! If we stand against the Moore family, we might lose more than a library. I guess the Bridge family is pretty much screwed."
Ann had no interest in their conversation. She picked up Nikki and left.
A Bugatti stopped outside the school.
The boys leaned against the car window. Their eyes didn't leave Nikki and Ann until they got on the taxi.
Carson crossed his arms and glared at Phillip.
"Daddy is an idiot! You didn't even say something nice to comfort Ann and Nikki. They're sad!" "
Jackson nodded and echoed, "Miss Ann must run for other. We're going to lose Nikki."
After being mocked by the boys, Phillip tightened his lips and gripped the steering wheel hard.
He started the car and followed the taxi.
"Shut up!"
The boys sealed their lips in a grievance.
How did they end up having a dad always hindering them?
