Chapter ( 10 ) A Walk Down Memory Lane

I walk alone tonight in the New Fallen Snow. Remember a young man I once knew, many moons ago, in my younger years of the life I once knew, As a young lass of thirteen years.

I was head over heels for a tall dark and handsome lad that was in the History class with me when in JR.-High Days. (7th,- 8th, grade, in my time)

He and his family had just moved here from out of town I guess. I first saw him on the School Bus that morning, I knew he was new, I kind of fell for him then, but shrug it off and turned back around in my seat.

All the popular girls would gather around him like a hawk waiting for his prey, to pounce on and feed, no matter where he'd roam or be.

All though he didn't seem to mind, I sure did, all though, I had no right, for he knew nothing of my feeling for him...I would be a friend and nothing more as far as he was concerned when that time came.

I'd keep hoping he'd see me for who I am, and not what he wanted me to be. Just a friend.

I would continue to be his friend several years after...All thought it would hurt like a knife stabbing me now and then...

Especially when I saw him with someone new, cling to him like a climbing vine to a trellis hanging on a wall or tree.

Then one spring evening he asked me to go to a movie at a drive-in theater...with one stipulation for use of the family car...We'd have to take some of his siblings to be granted the privilege of using the car... I had No problem with that and neither did my parents, they kind of welcomed the thought, in all honesty... I had just turned sixteen in Dec. the year before he'd asked me.

All though we took two brothers and two sisters we really enjoyed being together that night, or at least I did, I'm not for sure if he did, but I believe so. It was a night to remember as far as I'm concerned...We dated off and on after that night a few times...not as much as I would have liked, but it was what it was...I remained friends with the family and even dated his brother second in line for a short time.

I use to help babysit some of the younger ones once in a while if mom and dad needed a break from 7 plus kids if my memory serves me right.

I use to sit on the floor with them, I'd Play, read bedtime stories and sing to soothe their restless ways at times...I became fond of the family. They always treated me as if I was a part of it, no matter what.

These memories will forever have a place in my heart and soul until my dying day...No matter what others think, believe or say... It is part of my Lifes History and it is not something you can easily forget and give up just because someone else doesn't want to, accept, or respect what you had before them...

I have many memories, I'd like to share one day, but not right now, another time and place.
