Chapter 31
Chapter 31
In fact, Becky had heard what everyone was saying, but she didn’t show any expression. It was the moment she saw Ned resigning that she was surprised by how quickly Sigmund acted.
After the divorce, he actually listened to those words, which was ironic.
The other people in the department couldn’t help but admire Becky’s strong mental resilience when they saw her indifferent attitude. If this happened to someone else, he or she would either be boastful or be overwhelmed by everyone’s criticism.
The only thing Becky did was sit in the office without saying a word, which was something
that no one else could do.
It was not surprising that these rumors had also reached Sigmund. When he first heard them, he was astonished. “Do the rumors keep spreading and evolving as they are passed on?” he wondered. He quickly called Marsh and asked what had happened.
Marsh never expected that everyone would blame Becky for all these responsibilities. He didn’t even dare to say a word when he saw the gloomy expression on his boss’s face.
“Now, add me to the company group chat,” Sigmund said after a while.
Marsh pulled out his phone without any hesitation, adding Sigmund to the group.
Most people had never seen Sigmund’s ID, so they just thought he was an employee who
came in to watch the commotion.
As soon as Sigmund entered the group chat, he saw a constant stream of messages flooding the screen.
[I knew Becky wasn’t an ordinary woman. She has just come here, and Ned was fired.]
[I hereby announce that a very tough woman has come to the design department. Luckily, she’s not in our department, or it would be chaotic.]
[This is pure nepotism!]
[If I were her, I would be very arrogant as well. Capitalists are the most disgusting

creatures in the world!].
Marsh watched Sigmund’s expression grow darker, just like the last time he saw him in the
break room.
Finally, Sigmund typed something on the keyboard. Marsh could feel the group chat, which had been bombarded with messages, suddenly fall silent because of Sigmund’s words.
Subconsciously, Marsh wanted to check out what Sigmund had just sent. When his eyes met his boss’s expression, he stayed still.
“Go do whatever you need to do,” Sigmund said. Marsh nodded before leaving the office.
As soon as Marsh stepped out, he immediately took out his phone from his pocket. He saw a cold and domineering message from Sigmund.
[If you continue spreading meaningless rumors, don’t bother coming to work again.]
With just a casual sentence, the whole group fell silent.
Originally, no one knew Sigmund’s identity until the high–ranking executives in various departments recognized him. They cautioned their subordinates not to seek trouble.
Promptly, no one dared to speak up after Sigmund’s statement.
In the design department, everyone except Becky held their phones, their expressions full of all kinds of moods.

Lindsay’s eyes shifted between her phone and Becky, who was diligently working at the moment. She could tell that something was wrong.
Suppressing her wild curiosity and desire to gossip, Lindsay waited until lunchtime. Her actions mirrored Becky’s. As soon as Lindsay saw Becky stand up, she followed suit.
She even observed what Becky was eating, trying to make herself appear less intrusive.
Just as Becky sat down, Lindsay swiftly sat beside her.
“What a coincidence, Becky. You’re eating here too,” Lindsay said. As she spoke, Becky’s fork paused.

“What are you up to, girl?” Becky murmured inwardly. She had noticed earlier that Lindsay. had been following her discreetly, but she wasn’t worried about what Lindsay might do because Lindsay seemed rather clumsy.
“Yeah, what a coincidence.”
Becky smiled politely and then started fiddling with the plate of food in front of her, not intending to speak first.
A little while later, Lindsay couldn’t hold back her curiosity anymore and urgently asked the thing she wanted to know.
“Becky, can I ask you something?” Lindsay asked.
Becky looked up at her.
“Well…” Lindsay suddenly looked serious and asked Becky, “Do you really not know Mr. Moolery?”
Becky furrowed her brow and replied confidently, “Of course, I know him. Would anyone in the company not know the boss? But if you’re asking if I know him personally, then no, I
don’t.”
When Sigmund found out that Becky was still in the department instead of going to the cafeteria, he thought she couldn’t eat due to being upset. He wanted to know what was
going on.
After all, with everyone talking so negatively about her, Sigmund was curious if Becky would get angry because of it. However, he didn’t expect to hear such a nonchalant
comment when he arrived.
Clearly, this was not the answer that Lindsay wanted. Seeing that Becky didn’t seem to be lying, she could only nod in resignation.
Becky suppressed her laughter, casually picked up the cup on the desk, and gestured at Lindsay.
“You go ahead and eat. I’ll go get some water.”
Lindsay was now feeling frustrated. She had thought she would hear something extremely

shocking but ended up with no results.
Becky thought that Lindsay was simple–minded. Lindsay’s facial expressions precisely showed her mood and thoughts. Becky couldn’t help but curl her lips in a smile.
The moment Sigmund saw Becky so happy, his face turned cold. His thin lips were tightly pressed together.
Just as Becky was about to pass by him, he suddenly walked out and grabbed her, pulling
her into the break room.
Becky hadn’t even had time to react when she heard the sound of the door locking with at “click.” Immediately, she was enveloped in darkness.
With the familiar aura around her, Becky could figure out who it was without looking up. Of
course, it was Sigmund.
Soon, Sigmund’s deep voice was whispering in her ear.
“You don’t know me personally?”
Seeing that Becky wasn’t looking at him, Sigmund reached out and grabbed her chin, forcing their eyes to meet.
Becky could clearly see the anger swirling in his eyes.
“When you threw yourself at me on my bed, did you think that we didn’t know each other? Why are you so eager to distance yourself from me now? Humph.”
Sigmund’s aggressive kiss swept over Becky. The kiss was domineering and wild as if he wanted to consume her entirely.
No matter how hard Becky tried to resist, Sigmund showed no intention of letting her go.
“Is anyone in here?” Suddenly, a voice of confusion came from outside.
Becky stiffened.
