Jasper was irritated and grabbed me.
“How would I know he would run down the
road to the river? Olivia, I’m not the murderer of
my son! It was just an accident!”
I laughed bitterly. “You didn’t know he would
run to the river? Didn’t you know how much he loved playing with water? How many times did he beg you to take him to the water park? He was only five years old. When he saw a small river by the road, how could he resist playing by the water? How could he know it was dangerous? Isn’t this your responsibility as a guardian?”
My barrage of questions made Jasper even more

ashamed and furious.
“Anyway, you can’t divorce me! That would just confirm that I abandoned my wife and child!”
I looked at his disgusting face with great revulsion.
“Fine! You don’t want a divorce? Then I’ll sue you. I want everyone to see you for what you are–a cheating scumbag who killed his son and still clings to a wife he doesn’t love!”
By then, we were surrounded by neighbors returning from work.
They all looked at Jasper with accusatory expressions.

Jasper was embarrassed and left with a gloomy face.
I went upstairs, opened a bottle of wine, and drank until I passed out.
When I woke up the next morning, my phone was buzzing incessantly.
A flood of messages and numerous missed calls. greeted me.
As I groggily checked my messages, my best friend, Zoe Taylor, called.
“Oh my God, Olivia, you finally answered! Do you have any idea what’s happening? You’re all over the internet! Everyone’s furious at that scumbag, demanding he apologizes and divorce

you. You need to check online right now!”
As Zoe rattled on, I finally pieced together what was going on.
Last night, overwhelmed with grief, I posted a message on Instagram in memory of my son.
I simply stated that my beloved son had drowned, and expressed how he was the only one in the world who truly loved me.
But what I didn’t know was/that the local authorities had issued a statement about child drownings, urging parents to take responsibility for their children’s safety. Soon, some vigilant netizens found out the whole story.
Someone even uploaded a video of Jasper and

Victoria at a pet hospital.
Quickly, the internet unraveled the whole
narrative–revealing Victoria as Jasper’s mistress and exposing that on the day of the accident, he had left our son by the river to take her dog to
the vet.
The power of the internet was astounding.
They managed to track down Jasper’s workplace, car plate number, and even Victoria’s residence and pictures of her little Teddy.
As the enraged public bombarded Jasper and
Victoria with accusations, I was left stunned.
While sitting on my bed in a daze, my phone

rang–it was Jasper.
As soon as the call was connected, Jasper started yelling at me.
“Olivia Miller, you crazy woman! Are you determined to ruin me? Just wait, if I can’t live peacefully, neither will you!”
Just a moment ago, I was considering explaining to Jasper that I hadn’t intentionally stirred things up.
But now, I realized he wouldn’t believe me no
matter what.
I narrowed my eyes calmly and sneered in my
heart.
