Spoiled by the Silver Fox

Chapter 660

"Huh?"

Stephanie looked at him, utterly bewildered.

Sebastian stared back at her, into those clear and pure eyes that were as beautiful as a spring of fresh water, and softened his voice, "Remember what happened at the Palmer family's place?" "I remember."

"So, you're not on guard at all? Huh? Going into a man's room in the middle of the night, a man whom you barely know, to rehearse lines?"

"I'm sorry."

"What good does it do by apologizing? Stephanie, your life is your own. If you ruin it, there's no turning back."

Stephanie also looked a bit scared at that point, her face turned pale, "So is Sullivan a bad guy?"

"So far, he probably hasn't gone completely bad, but he's absolutely no saint. I suspect he's connected to Rebecca. I've already had Martin investigate!"

"Huh? Sullivan knows Rebecca?" Stephanie was shocked.

"It's just a speculation, there's no concrete evidence yet. But it's highly likely. According to Putnam, it was Jeffrey who threatened Rebecca with her son's life, and that's how Emily was saved." Stephanie gasped, "So if Emily was saved from Rebecca, then, that night, it really has something to do with her!!"

Sebastian said calmly, "Rebecca has been spoiled since childhood, she's arrogant and cunning. She's a tough cookie. If it really was her, Ashley is the best example. Given her hatred for Ashley and Emily, Emily would have been doomed. And you wouldn't have fared any better. so there's something fishy about this, we need to find out the truth."

As for Ashley, death would have been a relief.

If she hadn't known she was pregnant with Emily, she wouldn't have had the willpower to continue living!

Upon hearing this, Stephanie felt a chill down her spine and was filled with fear.

Sebastian held her even tighter.

"Sweetie, don't be scared. I'm back now, and I'll protect you."

Stephanie sniffed, "But you can't always be by my side."

"Stephanie, you're in your twenties. You're not a little kid anymore, so you need to learn some basic self-defence." "How do I do that?"

"Don't easily trust anyone in this

world! If you encounter a similar situation next time, I won't stop you from learning acting skills from actors who are better than you, from rehearsing with them, improving yourself, getting closer to your dream. But Stephanie, there are many ways to do anything in life."

Stephanie couldn't help but ask, "Like what?"

"Like you can have your two bodyguards that I arranged for you to come up, leave the hotel room door open, and let them guard from outside." Stephanie blinked, "But won't that make people think I'm being cautious and have an opinion about me?"

Trust was important between people.

If she acted like she didn't trust them, or was being cautious around them from the start, who would want to be around her?

Could she make friends like that?

Stephanie was clueless.

Sebastian tapped her forehead with his finger "How dumb can you be? Can't you just say that I or Emmert arranged for them to be with you for your safety, and you have no say in it?"

Just shift the responsibility onto someone else.

Sebastian finally understood.

Marilyn and Stephanie were both et

smart and clever, but they were both easy to trust others, not knowing how to protect themselves.
