Lily continued, "I've told Queen Yasmin that I would be creating a new drug that can regenerate cells to prolong life. She believes it, at least for now. I'll just go back and continue the research. Then I'll get her to stop the R10 experiment."

Austin said, "Even if she believes it, she'll need to test the drug on someone. She might even use it on you if she's suspicious of you."

Since Yasmin was suspicious by nature, Austin's worries were reasonable.

Before Lily could reply, someone suddenly said, "I'll go."

Surprised, they looked toward Mike. He held up a hand, adamant as he said, "Let me go with you."

He looked over his shoulder at the hesitant Lily. Mike blandly said, "Since the experiment will need a test subject, I'll volunteer."

"Mike, do you know what you're talking about? It's not a joke!" Austin said despite himself.

As Lily had said, she had only made up the experiment to fool Yasmin. No one knew what would happen if the queen wanted to test it on someone.

"I know," Mike smiled, saying, "Lily clarified it just now, but that's why I need to go. I can be the test subject if I do. What if Queen Yasmin wants to test the drug on Lily if I don't go?"

Although Mike did not say the name, everyone knew who it must be. The only other person in the embassy who was not a Yudonian was Nick. Even though he was a child, the Yudonians did not care about that.

After all, they had abducted him to make him a test subject. They did not care what experiment they tested on him.

Although only Lily and Alexander were familiar with Nick, others like Austin, Dominic, and Cameron knew he was just a child. It was inhumane to experiment on him.
