Chapter 18 Reluctance to Admit the Truth
Sebastian, who was fierce looking just now, suddenly stopped. He could almost kill her and avoid future trouble.
After loosening his grip, Emily held the sofa and gulped. She was thrown into a panic.
After one minute, she felt painful, and showed a hollow laugh, "Don't you want to kill me?"
Sebastian gritted his teeth, "What do you want?"
What she wanted was as crystal clear already.
"Doesn't Mr. Clark know that already?"
He pulled the corner of his mouth, looked at Emily in a ferocious look, and then said, "You'll never get it."
"You killed your father and was put in prison for two years. Then you take advantage of me to revenge on your stepmother and half-sister. Now, you want me to marry you? Do you think I'm a fool or too naive to know nothing and let you jerk me around?"
He deliberately lengthened the final sound. His words made her nervous and panic-stricken and even broke out in a cold sweat.
Two years ago, he was there too. Emily was in bed with him all night long. Unless she could separate herself into two persons, otherwise, she couldn't do those things.
Emily stood up with her hands on the sofa. She stared at Sebastian. She could feel his hatred and anger overflowing from his eyes, hurting her self-esteem, scraping her face.
She unconsciously smiled and glanced at the good-looking but fierce man in front of her, "Then I have to bother Mrs. Clark to meet with me. I can't have my baby born without a father."
"How dare you?" Sebastian glared at her and said fiercely, "If you do that, I will let you disappear in C City."
"Of course, you can. But don't forget I have the photos taken that night in M Restaurant."
Emily finished speaking very firmly, and then threw the door closed and left.
The thin heels of her shoes touched the floor, making clear sounds. Sebastian clenched his fist and hit the desk, making a huge sound.
Hope went in. He pursed his lips tightly, maintaining a fist-clenched posture and striding toward the door.
"Mr. Clark, Miss Morris has already left."
He suddenly stopped, gritted his teeth, and ordered, "Send someone to follow her all day, and report to me at any time if something happens."
Emily went downstairs and stood in front of the door for a while. A silvery-grey Porsche came to her, which was still the old model three years ago, but because of the excellent maintenance of the owner, the car was shiny.
Seeing the 666 on the license plate, Emily knew it was Ewan's car.
The car was driven past her and stopped one meter later. The familiar smell and figure made her mind messy.
In the beginning, Ewan chose this car because of her, but now everything had changed.
Emily wanted to take a few steps around and hide behind the big jade pillar beside her, but Ewan got out of the car and saw her first.
Now he was no longer the young boy a few years ago, he had changed into a well-dressed, mature, and charming man.”
"Emily, what are you doing here?" He asked in confusion.
Emily never thought she was a nice person, but at the thought of what happened between Ewan and Sabrina, she felt disgusted and wanted to slap him in the face.
She turned around and smiled with a hint of indifference, "You can come here. Why can't I?"
Ewan felt embarrassed and guilty, and then said, "Silton Construction and Seaview Properties have cooperation on the project..."
"I don't care about that. It has nothing to do with me." Emily did not want to continue the conversation with him at all, so she interrupted him, "Since you have to go to talk about your cooperation, you can't delay. I will leave first."
"Sabrina said you have passed the interview in Dier. Why did you refuse it?"
She gritted her teeth, and couldn't help saying, "Why hadn't she told you that I got the opportunity by sleeping with a man?"
But in fact, what Sabrina told Ewan was even worse than that.
"Emily, Sabrina and I..."
"Adulterous." She could hardly hold back her hatred and cursed them.
Everything had changed, and so had she. Although she was bright and cheerful in disposition, she would never say these before.
At that time, she was of noble indignation and cool, just like other girls from rich families, capricious and lovely, magnanimous and hypocritical. While now, Emily was really like a bad sinner. Others could see hatred from her eyes.
"Emily, you can resent me and hate me." Ewan stared at her and questioned, "You must break up with me at that time. Had you already planned to get rid of me and then stay with Sebastian..."
In the end, he still chose to stop at where it should. Anyway, that was his pain and her shame. That didn't feel well when your wound was torn apart.
"No."
Ewan couldn't resist the blow of her words. His body was rigid, "Have you ever loved me during the two years when we were in the relationship?"
He would feel satisfied even she loved him a little. He didn't dare to ask for more.
"I have never loved you. I dated with you just for fun." She laughed and said these words against her will.
Ewan stood in front of her, wanted to say something but stopped in the end. The bright sunlight shone on his handsome face, and the scene made her feel sad and heartbreaking.
They stood face to face and said nothing. Emily was not worried that he would come directly to question and entangle with her. He had always been courteous. He would never do that and disdain to do that. Her brain flashed a sentence, "The world is but a little place, after all. Although it is but one foot's distance away, now it looks as if it were as far as the horizon,."
Same words, but different meanings.
Emily held back tears, "I have not had the opportunity to meet you since I was released from prison, and now that you have seen me in person, can I go now?" Ewan felt bitter in his heart. He closed his eyes and asked, "Emily, I have thought about it for a long time, but I have not been able to understand."
Emily never watched those idol dramas or read love stories. What she believed now was only the reality.
"There are only two reasons for breaking up in this world - either you did not love anymore or you had been pretending to love all the time. I hold the second reason."
When she said this, her whole body, even her lips and eyelids were shaking. Even she was a little reluctant to admit that when she saw Ewan, she still had a bitter feeling in her heart.
"Move on! The Clark family can make me live a better life. And you had ganged up with Sabrina when we were still dating. You have your new lover, and I have what I want now. If we meet each other in the future, Mr. Burke, please show mercy to me."
Her light voice was like the piercing cold wind, blowing into his ears, and also into his heart. There were thousands of extremely sharp knives in the wind, cutting off his skin piece by piece, which hurt him so much.
Ewan kept his feelings. Despite the pain, he still said with a smile, "Wish you happy the rest of your life."
They didn't even hug each other in the end. They just left in different directions and started different journeys.
It was selfishness, and also a weakness. They just didn't want to be decent when they knew they couldn't return to the past.000
