Sparkling Hope: Chapter 10

This term paper in journalism was the worst thing to approach me unless someone wanted to help me with it.

Even after a failed attempt to find a term paper on my topic online, the number of written words on my document remained the same at two.

My first and last name.

The term paper was due next Wednesday, so exactly seven days were left. Seven days to write anything sensible on the blank document on my laptop. I sat in the campus coffee shop, hoping to focus a bit on the paper, but more interesting was the butt, which looked perfect in those light denim jeans.

My eyes wandered from my laptop screen to that butt as she walked past my table.

I ignored that it was my roommate’s butt, but I couldn’t resist.

Anything would distract me right now to not have to keep working on this crappy chore.

The sex has come a little shorter lately, and I needed to change something about it quickly.

I was missing the sex.

Not with Luna, but pacification with my hand under the shower didn’t compare to tight pussy or tongue from some cute girl at a frat party.

I needed sex this week, or I’ll start staring at my roommate’s ass even hungrier, and I want to protect myself from that.

Every girl but not this girl.

I kept playing with my pen between my fingers as I read through a short blurb in an online article. While trying to understand the text, I wondered if I looked as highly focused and intelligent as the others who wore glasses on the bridge of their noses and had their heads deep in books.

One of the guys who fit that description had a blue and white plaid shirt on and was pretending to sit in his own law office.

‘Here, your coffee,’ Luna spoke, and I lifted my gaze from my laptop to her breasts, which looked really hot in that tight-fitting top.

I was really distracted by everything.

How could she suddenly have such an exciting body that I preferred to focus on that rather than my still-blank document?

She puffed out loud. ‘This is where the music plays.’

Luna placed a cup of coffee filled to the brim next to my laptop on my notepad.

I hated coffee.

‘Do I look like I drink coffee? I definitely did not order this.’

‘I know, but this girl,’ I looked up at Luna and couldn’t help but contort my face when I saw her headdress.

Her head was covered with a black headband, and bats that glittered were hanging from two spirals that stuck in the air.

‘Stop laughing, asshole,’ Luna rabble-roused, her cheeks turning slightly red. I turned away from her momentarily and tried to pull myself together and do my best not to laugh aloud when I looked at her again.

I thought I had my laughter under control again, but when I looked at Luna, who looked at me seriously, I couldn’t help but laugh again.

My jaw was already hurting from trying so hard to keep it together.

‘You look so damn silly,’ I smirked.

‘Then you and I have something in common,’ Luna countered as the glittery bats wiggled on her head.

I got myself under control, looking at my laptop instead of Luna.

‘You can take the coffee back,’ I pushed it aside to show her that Luna could take it back.

Only then did I remember that she just nodded in a girl’s direction before I couldn’t hold myself together laughing because of her headband. With my fingers, I pulled the coffee cup by the saucer closer to me again. ‘You know, better leave that one.’

Because when I saw who handed me the coffee, I kept this deviant drink with pleasure.

A blonde who had pinned her hair back with a bobby pin bit down lightly on her pen as she looked at me.

Holy shit. That girl was hot.

I would take any distraction right now to not have to sit at this crappy term paper, and she was the perfect distraction.

Luna was already gone serving other students who ordered something, but as she wiped down the table next to me and cleared the dishes, I handed her a little note.

‘Will you give her this note?’I asked her, holding a piece of paper, torn out of my pad, between my fingers.

‘I’m definitely not playing your cupid, Weston,’ Luna snatched the note from between my fingers and tossed it into an empty cup.

‘You fucking serious?’

‘I told you, I’m not playing your cupid. Go over there and talk to her, or don’t,’ with the tray full of dishes, she walked behind the counter, which was also decorated to match Halloween.

Everything in the store was decorated, and it looked terrifying.

I took the hot cup of nasty coffee in my hand, held it toward the pretty blonde, and nodded my thanks.

God, this girl knew exactly how to play with her eyes to captivate you.

Her looks were insane.

My dick twitched and reacted to her hot look immediately.

I would love to take her here and now on the table, but that remained just a blur of wishful thinking as she started packing her bag. I scanned every millimeter of her body, studying every movement.

Whether it was the last sip from her cup, the muffin crumbs on her visible, very hot cleavage, or how she slid her hands through her long blonde hair and fluffed her curls after taking the bobby pin out of her hair.

‘See you at the Halloween party, sweetie,’ she waved at me and then left the cafe.

Did this girl just call me sweetie? Bah.

‘Are you so sexually frustrated that you have to chase after every girl?’ smirked Luna as she returned to my table and looked at me with raised eyebrows as I averted my gaze from the other girl.

So if this was exactly how it always goes down, I would sit here pretending to study more often.

‘Are you a little jealous, Hazel Bug?’

‘Definitely not, but if you had your buddy between your legs more under control, you would have managed a bit on your term paper.’

Although I would never tell Luna to her face that she was right because that would only make her already too-big ego grow even more.

‘If you like, you can do the term paper for me, then I can take care of my buddy,’ I smirked at the designation of my dick.

Luna rolled her eyes, as she so often did, at what I said.

‘Absolutely not. I’m happy to be done with my term paper myself,’ she turned on her heels and walked behind the counter with the coffee cup that had been on my table until just now.

It rattled behind my forehead until I had the idea.

Even though I would have wished for anyone else to ask for help, I was left with only Luna.

‘What’s your major?’ I approached the counter and propped myself on my forearms while she dumped coffee beans into the glossy black coffee maker.

‘Sports management.’

‘Minor?’

She furrowed her brow. ‘What’s this going to be? An interrogation?’

‘Minor?’ I repeated my question.

‘Journalism.’

 Bingo.

‘Would you help me, please?’ the last word came out of me rather tortured because I didn’t ask for things. I just get them when I want, but it was all a bit different with Luna. ‘Definitely not.’

‘Not even if there’s something in it for you?’

‘What good will come out of this for me? Sitting in the car with you yesterday was torture enough.’

‘Sex.’

She’s bound to jump at that. Everybody wanted sex.

I do, anyway.

I loved sex, and sex loved me.

‘Jesus, Weston. Think about something other than some perverted shit for once. Get your dick under control already,’ she hissed quietly and angrily.

‘I did, and my dick is in great shape and in standby mode right now.’

‘Hey, you want some more, or can you leave her alone?’ the fucking guy whose name was pinned on a tag on his shirt and identified himself as Landon looked at me questioningly.

‘I’m done. Thank you for your heroic behavior, Landon,’ his name I said provocatively and looked at him bitterly before turning and walking towards my table by the store window to pack my things.

Landon was a piece of shit. Like, really shitty.
