Sold To The Untouchable Alpha

Chapter Hybrid

[lvan's POV]

I became more and more positive that the cause of the force and light was Arissa as we drew closer to the location of the disturbance. Despite telling myself again and again that I wouldn't accept her as my mate, I could easily feel her presence, and I was shocked to find just how comforting it truly was after all the worry I had gone through.

Picking up my pace, I pushed my way through the force that was attempting to keep me away. It was strong and I could see Hans struggling to stay behind me due to it, but I didn’t bother stopping. I could feel a strong sense of hatred and fear in it and knew that she needed me even if she didn't know it herself.

"Alpha, is this a good idea?" Hans puffed, as we stopped in front of the mating house to examine the white light that was flowing through a hole in the roof. "We don’t know what this is or who is responsible.”

"It is Arissa.” I responded, beginning to move again.

"How do you know?"

I didn't bother explaining how I knew; I just knew. I could feel her from here and I could feel her warring emotions.

Inside, the house was empty due to the fact that it wasn't time for the blood moon yet. Of course, that would give Arissa’s kidnappers the perfect place to hide without being seen. However, how did they manage to sneak in without Isaac or his men noticing?

Pushing my suspicions aside, I made my way up the large staircase that sat in the middle of the entryway towards the second floor, where Arissa's scent was radiating from.

Feeling disgust rush through me, I took in the long corridor in front of me that was lined with many doors made of steel. This place truly was sick, and I couldn't believe that Arissa had to be kept here for so long before I found her.

It didn't take long for me to locate the room where she was being kept. The door blocking her from me was locked and bending against the force of Arissa’s power pushing against it.

"Stay back, Hans." I ordered, lifting my foot.

Giving a snarl, I kicked out, letting my foot connect with the metal. It gave a creak on impact, but remained in place. Feeling my panic rising due to the fear I could feel so strongly coming from Arissa, I prepared to deliver a stronger blow. I didn't know what she was experiencing, but I would be sure to take care of it.

"Do you want my help?" Hans asked, beginning to move forward.

As I opened my mouth to respond, another soul-piercing shriek escaped from the room, sending the door flying against the wall of the corridor.

Not wasting any time, I rushed forward into the room to find Arissa curled up in a ball on the floor, clutching at her head.

"There you are.” I sighed, bending down and scooping her into my arms. "You can relax. I'm here now."

Pulling her against me, I greedily soaked up her scent and warmth against me. It was only in this moment that I truly realized how terrified I had been over her, and I knew that from this moment forward, I wanted to protect her for the rest of my life.

"No," she whimpered, beginning to struggle against me. "NO!"

Confused, I tightened my hold on her, stopping her from struggling to break free. It seemed that she was lost in her own head and suffering.

"Hans, examine the area, see if you can locate who is responsible for this.”

"Yes, sir."

I waited until Hans was gone before attempting to calm the raging Arissa once again.

Her body shook violently in my arms, and her skin was ice cold. The energy I had felt coming here was slowly fading, but it was still very strong. It was like nothing I had experienced from her before, and I couldn't stop my need to know what was going on.

"Arissa,” I murmured, grabbing both her cheeks and forcing her to stare at me. "You've got to snap out of it. Whatever you're seeing or experiencing isn't real. "

For a moment, Arissa seemed to relax ever so slightly, and her eyes, which were squeezing shut, began to slowly open, revealing two glowing red irises where her beautiful blue ones used to be. Sucking in a breath, I tried to make sense of what this was as she examined me curiously. It was clear from the look she was giving me that she didn't know who I was, but she remained calm, as if unafraid.

"Arissa,” I said again, hoping to see some resemblance of the woman I knew."Can you tell me what happened?”

She didn't respond as she continued to examine me, but soon her lips curled into a smile, revealing two very sharp canines.

"I'm so hungry.” She purred with a giggle. "Can you help me?"

"What?"

I was still trying to process exactly what was going on when she moved forward in an attempt to bite my neck.

"Alpha! " Hans yelled just in time, reaching out and letting Arissa's teeth sink into the top of his hand. Hissing, he pulled it free, causing Arissa to let out a hiss of frustration. "Alpha, something is wrong with her!”

"l can see that." I snapped. "We need to get her back to the estate so that she can be looked over." Tightening my hold, I stood and began to make my way out of the room while Arissa struggled to break free.

"Let go!" She growled.

I was shocked to find that the angrier she grew, the more her normal aura of bloodlust surged from her. It had never been this strong, and I couldn't quite keep from feeling its effects.

"You'll be fine." I murmured, heading out into the night. "Just hang in there until I can get you help.” Turning, I met Hans' concerned gaze. "Did you find anyone?”

"There was no one, sir." Hans reported, frowning.

Shit, it seemed that I would have to let Arissa's abductors go free for today. However, I would be sure to find them and make them pay for all the torture she had endured. Her body was covered in bruises and her cheek was torn and swollen where she was clearly punched.

A finger for every scratch and bruise, I swore before beginning to make my way home, to our home. It didn't have that bad of a ring to it.
