Singularity

Michalei and Kira reappeared in the throne room. Sephiroth looked up from the throne startled by the bright light. When he saw who it was he was overjoyed.

“Kira! You’re alright.” Sephiroth said racing over to embrace her.

“Was there ever a doubt papa?” She giggled as she hugged him tightly.

“You did well son. You kept your word to me and saved us all. I owe you a debt of gratitude.” Sephiroth said as he reached out to shake Michalei’s hand.

“It was an honor sir.” Michalei replied as he took the hand offered and shook it.

Sephiroth noticed then that both Kira’s hand and Michalei’s hand were covered in dried blood. A smile crept across his lips as he took a step back.

“Well, I’ll be damned. My king,” Sephiroth bowed to him. “I’m sure you two have quite the story to tell me regarding the last twenty four hours.”

“We did it papa. Domascus can return here no more. I have banished him to Earth.” Kira replied. “I couldn’t have done it without Michalei and his devotion.” She took his hand in hers.

“Say no more.” Sephiroth chuckled. “Let us just celebrate this as a win. Perhaps we could even make this union official with a public ceremony. It’s a bit embarrassing my only daughter eloping twice now.”

“Papa!” Kira blushed.

“Your daughter has been through enough hell, sir. We should allow her a period of rest before we ask her to do anything else that may strain her.” Michalei prompted.

“You both need to quit treating me like a hopeless child. I’m fine, truly and completely well. You need not baby me any further. Avalon is my home and they deserve to be a part of this new beginning. And I believe we should get ourselves cleaned up and do so promptly.” Kira stated.

“It is unfair to keep them waiting in despair. So, for starters, Michalei darling, would you be so kind as to gather what we need to lower the guardians. I’m sure that would bring ease. After which we can go to the town square and explain to our people that we are safe once again.” She stated.

“Yes of course my queen. I shall get right to that and meet you in the chamber below.” Michalei kissed her hand and quickly walked away.

Kira turned to her father and smiled when he spoke, “You grew up too fast my daughter.”

“It is how it was meant to be papa. My only wish now is that Avalon can enjoy a peace that lasts for an eternity.” She smiled.

“I am so proud of you. Even in the midst of darkness you bloomed into a beautiful flower.” Sephiroth hugged her tightly.

“Off with you papa. You should rest and be appropriately dressed to announce your daughter as wife and queen.” She urged.

“Of course my daughter.” He smiled. “I shall return soon.” He kissed her cheek and disappeared up the stairs.
