Chapter 27: Couldn't Get Out

Screech!

After the darkness inside the huge chamber vanished in everyone's sight, chaos had immediately followed. The Cave Rats ran into panic as they tried their best to stay away from the human who was brazenly trying to enter their turf.

If that human was just any other, they might probably have rushed towards the other party right now and then ate him already. But knowing that that human had a strange ability, they couldn't be that careless.

That said, they tried to put some distance away from that human. After all, it was a beast instinct to fear those who were stronger than them.

They were just planning to surround the other party later on when he finally entered deeper into their turf and then attack him with all of them going at the same time.

"The darkness really did vanish..." Sakim remarked in awe. As he stepped his foot into the chamber, he was astonished to see that even though there was no source of light, that place was just all bright. He swept his gaze around before turning his gaze above. "What a peculiar sight..."

After thinking about something for a good while, Sakim then finally shifted his gaze in front of him, and only then did he notice the many terrified rats that were trying their best to push each other to determine who would be the vanguard.

Seeing them, Sakim was delighted. He never thought that he would cause such terror to these rats just by stealing the darkness away. How much more if he stole their life itself?

In any case, Sakim went inside the chamber for some reason. First, he wanted to see if there was an item that dropped from the monster he killed before. But when he looked around, it was to his dismay that he couldn't find anything of value at all.

Just what the heck was this? Sakim frowned. Was the drop rate of items from low-level monsters really that low? Sakim just found it hard to believe that even within the forty-plus monsters he had killed, he couldn't find any item that dropped at all. Was it because of his luck being so low? Or there was more reason for it?

Knowing that no item had dropped from the monsters he'd killed, Sakim could only sigh deeply. After which, he gave a cold stare to the many rats in front of him as he thought for the second reason why he went inside this chamber.

And that was to gain more exp by slaughtering these monsters. It was just a pity that his mana wasn't recovering at all for he had currently no item that could give him mana regeneration attribute. If he wanted to kill those monsters, he could only use his basic attack with his [Rusty Sword] against them. And Sakim felt that it would definitely be tiring.

And with the lots of them, Sakim was afraid that he would definitely die if those monsters worked and attacked him together. It was still fine if he could fight against them one by one. But with all of them working together against him? Sakim could only shake his head as he thought that the possibility of his survival would be slim. Sakim guessed that although he had already killed more than forty Cave Rats before, he counted that those rats that were still alive were still more than a hundred. How could he possibly win if those rats swarmed at him?

But of course, although the chance of winning was slim, it wasn't impossible. With the item [Wrath of Heaven] he had stolen, Sakim was more than sure that he could do splash damage and then kill them all in one go.

And of course, Sakim wouldn't waste such a precious item for these monsters. Not unless his life was in danger.

So as for now, Sakim had just stepped foot near the entrance of the chamber. That only meant as well that he could turn back from the chamber at any moment if in case that those rat monsters tried to gang up at him.

But seeing that no one was so daring to come at him, Sakim felt disappointed but at the same time, relieved. He was disappointed since he couldn't lure at least a few of them so that he could gain exp. He was in relief because he guessed that once one of them come at him, the others might come at him as well, and then it would be no end to it. That would really be frustrating thinking how large the numbers that those rats were.

In any case, Sakim wouldn't go there in the middle of the chamber just to slaughter those rats. He might end up be the one who would be slaughtered especially upon knowing that he had no mana left.

With that being said, since no item had dropped from his slaughter, and since he had no mana left to continue his slaughter, Sakim turned around and prepared to leave. He knew full well that no reason to stay was a good reason to leave. It was just a pity that even after draining his mana, he didn't level up at all or receive anything valuable.

But as helpless as he was, he could only turn around to hurry up and go to the beginner's village. With the many shops built in there, he was more than sure that he could buy plenty of mana potion for him to continue his leveling.

On the other hand, seeing that Sakim had turned around and was planning to leave, sigh of reliefs had immediately echoed across the entire chamber. It appeared that the Cave Rats really wanted Sakim to hurry up and leave already. If they could just speak, they might have probably bid farewell to Sakim right now. And with a joyous smile at that.

But to everyone's shock, including Sakim, when he was just about to step out of the hidden dungeon, he suddenly banged his forehead to an invisible wall. He couldn't help but lose his balance as he fell on the ground with his ass on the floor and with both of his hands on the ground trying to support his upper body.

"What the hell is this?" Sakim was surprised when he suddenly bumped into something invisible. He also held his forehead trying to ease the pain.

But before Sakim could get even more confused about what was going on, the System suddenly appeared right in front of his face bringing him another huge surprise.

[Cannot leave the hidden dungeon. You need to defeat the hidden dungeon boss first before exiting.]

"This..." Sakim widened his eyes in shock. There was such a thing? What should he do now?

Sakim turned his gaze behind him only to see many eyes widening in shock and horror. He couldn't help but form a bitter smile as he felt that there was so much work waiting for him to do this time. It appeared that he really needed to slaughter these rats. But with his current mana, could he really do that? contemporary romance

The Cave Rats, on the other hand, had also just remembered that every human who tried to enter their turf was not allowed to leave unless they defeated their boss. Really, just what kind of luck did they have? They already thought that their problem would finally be solved when this human left their place but who would have thought that their luck would leave them helpless. Was there really no other way to solve this problem other than to fight that human with their life on the line?

If only the darkness didn't vanish... At that moment, only one thought floated on the mind of every Cave Rat in there. With the darkness being gone, their buff left them useless. Their attack that was supposed to give a fatal blow against their target was now no different than an insect bite.
