Chapter 312
Chapter 312
Henna momentarily stiffened, her hands clenched tightly.
Seeing this, Fiona patted Lizetta’s hand and said in a gentle voice. “Liz, | didn’t know today, didn’t bring a little welcome gift for our little bean. I'll make it up next time.”
Lizetta shook her head, “Wait till Joy is born, then you can give it, it’s all still early”
Fiona chuckled and rubbed Lizetta’s belly, “So the baby is named Joy? Good, that’s a nice unisex name. Joy, I’m your great- grandma, you hurry up and grow, so you can meet your great-grandma soon.”
Lizetta’s lips curved slightly, looking down at her still-flat belly with tender eyes, her gaze as gentle as water.
She didn’t notice that as she stared at her belly, Remington sitting beside her was also looking at her intently, his gaze never leaving her. Remington looked utterly besotted, his thin lips curved in a soft smile, his eyes rippling like melting ice.
Hanna stood aside, feeling out of place.
Fiona then stood up, “You two probably have a lot to talk about, | won't intrude on your couple’s time.”
Her mood had soured a bit because of Hanna’s interference.
Lizetta quickly stood up, “Then let me walk you out, Grandma.”
“No need! You just sit tight, don’t movel” Fiona made Lizetta sit back down as if she were a fragile treasure. She then turned to Remington, “Take good care of your wife, If she gets hurt again, don’t call me Grandma!” After saying this, Fiona left with Hanna. Once out of the room, her smile faded.
They rode in silence, Hanna sitting next to Fiona, feeling a bit tense
Fiona’s face was stem, clearly angry, and Hanna was still somewhat afraid of her mother-in-law
“Mom, | was just worried Lizetta wasn’t being cautious, messing around and the child could be at risk.” Hanna couldn’t resist the pressure and started making excuses first, Fiona’s aged but sharp gaze turned on her. Hanna faltered, then Fiona said stemnly.
“You know why you did it! The child in Liz’s belly is Remington’s, your own grandson, not a tool for saving Joseph! Keep your ulterior motives to yourself!”
Fiona was aware that Hanna w

hoping the baby in Lizetta’s belly could be a donor match to cure Joseph’s illness.
Hoping for a match was human nature.
But to treat the unbom child as a mere tool for treatment was unfair to the child, Lizetta, and Remington!
Once the child was bom, given Lizetta’s affection for Joseph, she would definitely volunteer for the compatibility test without anyone
asking.
Asuccessful match would be a blessing from heaven for the Dashiell family; a failure, on the other hand, should not bring guilt or disappointment. It’s simply fate.
Fiona didn’t want Lizetta to carry unnecessary stress from epancy Pregnancy was challenging enough, requiring sensitivity and
care.
“Saving Joseph is not the responsibility or obligation of Remington and his wife. Don't bring this up again before the child is born! Do you hear me?”
Fiona glared at Hanna, who nodded. “| understand, Mom.”
Fiona could tell her agreement was insincere and added, “You already made a mistake with Remington once, cooling his heart towards you. If you treat Remington's child as a lifesaver, how do you think he will feel? Even he’s your son, he can't withstand being let down again and again! Think about it!”
Hanna’s face turned pale at the mention of past events. Thinking back, Hanna also remembered Lizetta, who always seemed to oppose her.
With a mix of regret and resentment, she muttered, “Stella was so perfect in every ưay, so close to me. If she had durvived that year, she and Remington might have...
She trailed off as Fiona gave her a stem look Hanna closed her mouth, but Fiona, reminded of past sorrows, looked tired and sad, closing her eyes without saying more.
