Secret Scion

Chapter 94 -

"Elle, Tony just called. He said that Asher attacked him? What happened? Asher's back?" There was a hint of anxiety in Candace's voice. It was obvious that things had developed beyond her control.

"It's all thanks to your wonderful idea, Candy. I'm done for," Noelle could not help but grumble to her and then told her everything that happened.

After Candace had listened to the entire story, she apologized saying, "I'm so sorry. I've never dated, so I didn't realize this could happen."

It was at that moment Noelle wanted to give herself a facepalm. That was right, Candace had never dated anyone, so of course, she would not have any experience in romance. She was such a fool to ask Candace for ideas, and worse still, she actually used her ideas.

"That's not your fault. You only wanted to help me, after all," Noelle said.

Candace gave it a thought and then said, "Elle, maybe I should look for Asher and explain everything to him. I was the one that came up with the idea, so it's only fair. I don't want him to have any misunderstanding with you over this. How does that sound? I mean, what happened is my fault at the end of the day. I feel bad that the both of you ended up like this."

Since Asher was not picking up her calls, she had no chance to explain it to him. She believed that maybe it was a good idea for Candace to speak to Asher. Maybe he would really forgive her after understanding what happened.

Asher did not think that Noelle would really interact with another man. His trust in Noelle immediately went into the negatives. Could it be that just as Phoebe said, Noelle merely pretended to like him?

While one could not literally drown in their sorrows, alcohol could definitely alleviate one's misery in the short term.

The Wet Stone. Sunset.

Asher did not come here to look for Phoebe, he only came here for a drink. After his trip to the Webbs Martial Arts Center, she never contacted Asher ever again. That was why he thought that Phoebe had chosen to give up. If that was the case, she would not waste her time in Rollinsford. There were a few snacks on the table, but Asher had not touched them at all. Instead, he had already finished two bottles of the Webbs' specialty wine.

While Asher could drink a lot, he wanted to get drunk despite the wine not being that strong in the first place. He could feel his head getting lighter, but he was in the mood for more drinks, so he ordered two more.

When Asher came into the establishment, the manager had already noticed Asher. Phoebe had personally told him about Asher and that he was a special guest here.

When he saw that Asher was drinking on his own, the manager gave Phoebe a call after some consideration and told her what was happening.

"Let him enjoy himself for now. I'll be there in two hours."

After Phoebe hung up the call, she quickly checked for the flight that was departing to Rollinsford from the Capital City using her mobile. Luckily, there was one flight left. She then contacted a friend from the airport and asked for a ticket to be reserved for her.

After about an hour, Phoebe arrived at the Rollinsford airport. She then headed directly to the bar by hailing a taxi.

When she got to the bar, she began scanning for Asher. She finally found a drunken Asher in an inconspicuous corner.

From Phoebe's understanding, he would only get so drunk for one single reason-love. Asher had only recently returned to Rollinsford, so it was obvious that the person that made him so anguished was Noelle.

That was why Phoebe made her way to Rollinsford so quickly.

"You can give me a call whenever you want to have someone to drink with. I'll be there for you no matter how far I am." Phoebe sat down in the seat opposite of Asher's.

Asher was slightly surprised and asked, "When did you get to Rollinsford?"

"Just now," Phoebe said with a faint smile. "I told you. As long as you want to drink, I'll be there for you."

Even though Asher was getting high, he was still somewhat conscious. He never expected that she would come here all the way from the Capital City. Could it be that she was not planning to give up all along?

"Check please," Asher said as he wanted to run.

Phoebe gave the waiter a glare as the waiter approached, and he quickly turned around and left.

"I didn't say that you can leave, so you will be staying here for a while. I'll make sure that you'll

have enough to drink. We can drink as much as you like." Phoebe rolled her eyes as she grabbed

a bottle of wine and continued, "Let's drink using the bottle directly, shall we?"

It was a waste of time to ask a person who was already high if he wanted to drink more. The more drunk one became, the easier he would agree to a challenge. Phoebe knew about that and intentionally provoked Asher.

"As long as the bottle stands, so shall I." As expected, Asher could not stand such a provocation. He grabbed another bottle of wine and gulped it all down. It was as if he was not drinking wine, but water.

After half an hour, Asher was lying on a bed completely wasted in the room that Phoebe was staying in. Phoebe was very tired after helping Asher up to the second floor. Since she had drunk some wine, her face was also quite red, and there was a layer of sweat on her forehead.

"He looks lean. I didn't expect him to be so heavy," Phoebe mumbled to herself. At this time, a voice came from outside the door. It was the waiter.

"Boss, the dessert that you ordered is here."

The dessert was a sweet, warm soup. It was still a bit hot, so Phoebe placed it on the table. She had just sat down when Asher's mobile began to ring. When she saw that Asher did not react, Phoebe then grabbed the phone from his pants. On the screen was the name Candace. Phoebe searched her memories and eventually remembered that she was Noelle's best friend. After some hesitation, Phoebe finally picked up the phone, but she said nothing. "Asher, where are you? I want to tell you about Noelle and Tony. I was the one that came up with a bad idea, and it had nothing to do with Noelle. If you want to blame someone, blame me. Not to mention that the reason Noelle did that was because she wanted to test if you loved her or that woman Phoebe Webb. I know that the plan I came up with was a bit rough around the edges, but I couldn't come up with anything better. She's in a hot mess right now, so can you please give her a call?"

When she heard the words, Phoebe realized why Asher was drinking so much. It must be because Noelle wanted to make Asher angry, so she intentionally approached the man called Tony. However, all she did was enrage Asher in the end.

Oh, Noelle Steward. Everyone says that you're a conqueror in the business world, a peerless strategist. However, it seems that you have no clue at all when it comes to romance.

"This is Phoebe. Asher has drunk a bit too much. I'll let him know what you said when he wakes

up."

"Phoebe? Phoebe Webb?!" Candace was stunned and cried out in shock.

"Does that mean Asher is with you right now?"

Phoebe said with a smile, "How can I pick up your call if that's not the case? He's on the bed right now. Should I wake him up?"

"Asher, that bastard!" Candace was so angry that she blurted out, "There's no need to let him

know the conversation between us. I'm so sorry for disturbing your rest!"

With that, Candace immediately hung up the phone and then gave Noelle a call. She

immediately said, "Elle, there's no need to explain to him anymore..."

Noelle's heart skipped a beat. "You mean, Asher's on Phoebe's bed?"

"Yeah. Phoebe's such a shameless woman! She must have intentionally made Asher drunk so she could sleep with him," Candace said angrily.

When she heard that, Noelle's hand shuddered and her mobile immediately fell to the ground... Phoebe fed Asher some warm soup back in the room. However, as Asher was not fully awake, he dozed off right after drinking it.

No one knew what Phoebe was thinking when she looked at Asher, who was fully unconscious. Her face blushed like a blooming rose, beautiful and seductive.

A few minutes later, Phoebe removed her jacket and then lay down next to Asher and fell asleep. The next day, when Phoebe was awake, she realized that she was sleeping on Asher's arm with her face close to his chest. However, just a touch like this was enough to make Phoebe's face red.
