Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Tragedy’s POV
I woke up to the soft rays of morning sunlight streaming through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room.
Who knew that having a bedroom window would be such a koury
The exhaustion that had consumed me for so long seemed to have melted away during the night, replaced by a sense of tranquility and renewed h
hope.
As I stretched my limbs and sat up in the plush bed, I couldn’t help but marvel at the comfort that surrounded me. The soft sheets embraced my body, and the gentle breeze carried the scent of fresh flowers into the room. It was the best night’s sleep I had ever experienced…
If only the members at my old pack could see me now!
With a contented sigh, I swing my legs over the edge of the bed and stand up, relishing in the feeling of being well–rested.
As I made my way to the small bundle of clothes the kind lady had left for me, I admired the elegant pink floral summer dress that lay on top.
They were a far cry from the wom and tattered clothes I had worn in my previous pack – although I was still thankful to the hood I had knitted recently – it gave me the comfort I needed in some of my hardest hours.
I chose to shower, brush my teeth and hair before slipping on the beautiful dress…
Slipping it on, 1 felt a newfound sense of confidence and self–worth. Today was a new day, and I was determined to embrace it here at this new pack!
I wasn’t exactly sure why the Alpha had been this generous so far, but I wasn’t complaining. The people here already seemed different, and he seemed to believe that I wasn’t a troublesome spy so fa
far which worked out great on my behalf!
Just as I had finished getting ready, there was a knock on my door, pulling me from my thoughts. It was the kind lady again, her smile warm and welcoming as always.
“Good morning dear! How was your sleep? 1 just knew that rose dress would look incredible on your She chimes and claps at my appearance as I blush slightly–having never been complimented before now
“I had a great sleep thank you! May I ask your name?” I ponder, as she smiles brightly.
“Ruth… and you are Tragedy correct? A name so unfitting for you my
my dear! The woman sighs and shakes her head.
“Anyhow, The Alpha requests your presence for breakfast, so we better get you down there as he can be very impatient!” Ruth chuckles, seeming unfazed by the Alpha as I nod in agreement
I was ecstatic for breakfast with the Alpha, I was starving at this point- however it was a feeling I had grown used to. At times I would go days without eating, and when they did decide to feed me, it was never much.
As I followed the lady through the corridors, the familiar anticipation built up within me. The scent of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries wafted through the air, tantalizing my senses.
The pack members we passed by offered me respectful nods, acknowledging my presence as a guest of the Alpha.
This was all very unique and different to how the members of my old pack would act in my presence… they revolted whenever I entered the room.
Finally, we arrived at the dining hall, where the Alpha was already seated at the head of a long, polished table. His presence commanded attention, his gaze fixed on me as I entered the room.
A sense of nervous excitement fluttered within me, unsure of what this breakfast meeting would entail.
“Tragedy, please, join me,” the Alpha said, his voice a soothing melody that resonated in the quiet room.
I took my place at the table, a mix of curiosity and gratitude swirling within me. The fresh coffee was laid in–front of me, along with a cup of fresh orange juice, followed by a plate stacked high of delicious food.
As we began to eat, I had to use every ounce of power to help control my moans… this food was quite simply the best I had ever tasted in my life!

The Alpha’s gaze remained focused on me – looking amused as he ate himself before finally, he spoke, his voice gentle yet commanding…
“Tragedy, yesterday you shared a glimpse of your past, of the burdens you’ve carried and the name that has defined you for so long.” He said, his eyes filled with genuine interest. “Tell me, if you would, why Tragedy? What significance does it hold for you?”
I took a moment to gather my thoughts, appreciating the Alpha’s willingness to listen and understand why I came to get such a unique and insulting
The very name that became a weight on my shoulders was now being questioned by someone of his status.
“Alpha,” I begin, my voice steady and filled with determination. Tragedy was the name bestowed upon me by the Moon Lust pack when they took me in. It represented the pain and loss that surrounded my early life, as if my very existence was just a tragic event, and to top things off – they soon learned that I was a runt wolf so it just seemed fitting I guess I shrug, poking around at the food on my plate as I spoke.
The Alpha nodded, “I understand,” he said, his voice flat.
“Tragedy is a name that carries a heavy burden, one which I do not want to seep itself into my pack. If you are to reside here, I want you to start a fresh, with a new name. If what you have told me is true, then you deserve better than what your last pack gave you.” He almost grits out the words, as 1open and close my mouth – unsure of what to say.
em to care…
Why does he seem to
My heart skipped a beat at his words, a mixture of surprise and anticipation flooding through me. A new name, a fresh start–it was an unexpected proposition, one that I hadn’t dared to hope for.
“What would you have me be called, Alpha?” I ask next, my voice filled with both curiosity and a touch of nervousness.
I had only ever been called by Tragedy. A name that I was regularly teased and bullied for throughout my life. A name that almost gave people a free
pass to neglect me…
The Alphas piercing eyes set on me, his gaze unwavering. “A name that’s short and sweet–easy to remember,” He mused.
“A name that suits you… He continues on, leaning his elbows on the table as he thinks.
1 pondered his words for a moment, feeling a surge of excitement building within me. This was an opportunity for reinvention, a chance to leave the tragedies behind and embrace a new identity…
“Something
pretty… how about Rose. The Alpha leans back, folding his arms with a smirk, as my eyebrows furrow at the choice.
“Rose? Why Rose?” I ponder, tilting my head in curiosity for the choice.
“Your dress, it is covered in pink and red roses, you suit it – it’s pretty.” The Alpha concludes, as I practically swoon out of my chair.
Did he just… call me pretty? Nobody has ever complimented me like this before….
p
“Th–Thank you Alpha… I find my voice, not wanting to be rude in his presence.
Rose it is…
My new name…
My fresh start
“Now Rose… if you would kindly finish your breakfast, I can tell you your chores for the day. He sips at his coffee, bringing me crashing back into reality.
My chores… Im getting ahead of myself here… the Alpha isn’t flirting with me.
He’s only being decent.
After all, I will be working for him from now on… he just doesn’t want me to feel awkward, I guess.
