Saving Kinsley

Chapter Craving

Kinsley's P.O.V

Unlocking my door "Hey, uh would you mind showing me around tomorrow? If you're not busy." I asked Calum.

Calum smiled brightly at me "Yeah, be ready say around 8am? We can stop by the grocers first."

Setting the items Calum brought me on the counter, I pulled out the items and cooked some food. This will have to hold me over until tomorrow.

'Or we could hunt.' Ember suggested.

'Not yet, we don't know the area. We can't risk being seen by humans.' I reminded her, and myself. I was itching for a run, to feel the wind ruffle through my fur as I ran freely through the woods. To just smell the soil beneath me, as the sun set.

After finishing my food, my muscles were starting to ache. Walking into the bathroom I decided to take a relaxing bath. As I waited for the Tub to fill, I undressed.

The large scar stretched across my neck, forever marking me as a victim from that night. Sighing I ran my fingers over the mark that marred my flesh, at least I'm still alive. I should have died that night.

Closing my eyes I still remember the last moments I saw before everything went black. He lunged for me, I hadn't moved quick enough when he caught me by the throat. I could feel as he ripped into me. Before I completely lost consciousness I remember the feeling of regret and anger washing over me. The next thing I remember is briefly waking up as hands covered my wound to stop the bleeding, looking over I could see fur from a wolf. Burnt and unmoving it laid a few feet from me.

To this day I still wondered how that rogue wolf died. Had some humans stumbled on to it and killed it? The most terrifying part was I didn't know if anyone had seen me. I don't remember shifting back to my human form. That thought always worried me.

Sighing, I stepped into the bath. Sinking below the water as the bubbles wrapped around me.
