Chapter A Mates Rage
Kole's P.O.V
I knew I shouldn't have left her alone. How could I be so fucking careless? A growl ripped from my chest as my fist went through the drywall. My wolf was going wild within. I knew the moment I picked up Kassandra and Cassius' scents, she was gone. I should've taken her to Dark Moon Immediately. Another punch to the wall.
"We'll find her Kole. They couldn't have gotten far." Madi attempted to soothe my rage, but only one person could stop how I was feeling at this moment and she was gone. "How Madi? Their scents are at least an hour old!"
Kade growled at my tone, "Calm down brother!" He shouted as he stepped in front of Madi. A snarl came out, "Don't give me that shit Kade. You know damn well how I'm feeling right now!"
"Enough both of you!" Madi growled, her own dominance battling with Kade and I. "The longer we sit here and argue, the more our chances of finding her dwindle. Pull your head out of your ass Kole and try to use a clear head!"
I closed my eyes and inhaled the remnants of her scent, enough to bring my temper down. Madi was right, we all need to think clearly. One misstep and my Mate could wind up dead.
"I will take Noah and Tate, we'll go East and branch off to the West. You two, go South and split to the North. I will be the center of communication since I'm the one who can communicate with all of you. If anyone catches her scent, alert me immediately." Tate and Noah had joined us, nodding their heads, as Madi took control. The four of us hastily exited the building and went our separate ways according to the plan.
Shifting, my wolf took the reigns and charged into the woods, desperate to find our Mate. 'I've got a scent. Mostly blood.' Kade announced not long after branching off to the North. I could feel the connection open up inside my mind as Madi dispersed the information to all of us. Skidding to a stop, I whirled to the North where Kade was. My heart in my throat, I fought back my fears.
Standing in a clearing now, my eyes searched the bodies frantically, praying to the Moon Goddess she wasn't among them. None of them were her.
"Goddess, what the hell happened?" Madi whispered from her covered mouth.
Kassandra, Cassius, an unknown Male, and sadly Alpha Ian were lifeless on the ground. I watched as Madi cautiously crept towards Alpha Ian and placed her glowing hand on his chest, after a few minutes a sad sigh left her. "He's gone." She sadly spoke as she shook her head.
Kassandra and the Male looked as if they suffered the most. Walking closer, I picked up the scent of my Mates blood. A deep growl came from my chest as I clutched my fists. They harmed her.
Dakota came out of nowhere, earning startled growls as he kicked the Male, "I hope he fucking suffered." His chest was heaving as he spat out.
"Did you know him?"
"That evil bastard was my father." Dakota's gaze met mine head-on. If he wasn't dead already, I'd have ripped him apart with my own hands. He was the main source of Kinsley's blood. "I smell her blood." A growl came from me as I paused, "Not enough to be life-threatening." Another growl escaped me as my wolf pushed closer to the surface, my blood was pure fire. I stepped closer to Dakota's father's lifeless body, angry that he was no longer alive for me to rip his heart out for harming my Mate.
"I'm following the blood trail, someone needs to go back to the pack, find the Luna. Their Alpha is dead." I barked out shortly, and shifted, now leaving the decision up to the five of them. Kinsley was my only concern.
Following the blood trail, I snarled as the scent grew thicker. Someone else found her before we did. My Brother's black wolf was now beside me, soon after three more wolves joined us. We continued to climb further up the mountain, Kinsley's scent growing stronger. My heart plummeted the second her screams pierced my ears. A ferocious growl came out as I pushed myself harder.
I'm coming for you, Kinsley.
