Chapter 285 The Necklace Is One Hundred Million
Chapter 285 The Necklace Is One Hundred Million
The whole family knew that Nathan had always put a lot of thought into gifts he chose for others.
For example, the pink diamond ring which he bought for Penny was also worth one hundred million.
Even the pill which Nathan had previously gotten for Sean Smith was worth hundreds of thousands!
No one in the family would believe Nathan even if he had insisted that the red ruby necklace he had
chosen as a birthday gift for Leah was a cheap imitation.
Penny fixed her gaze on Nathan and asked him seriously, "Nathan, is mom's red ruby real or fake?
How much did you pay for it?”
Before Nathan could answer, Leah said with a stern look, "You have to tell us the truth. Don't lie to us!"
At their insistence, Nathan Cross could only oblige and speak frankly. "That red ruby necklace is
actually real. It is a 70-carat red ruby worth over a hundred
million.”
The entire family stared at Nathan in shock.
Upon hearing that, Leah's world seemed to be spinning and she almost fainted from Nathan's
revelation. With her lips quivering, she muttered, "It's all over! How could I be so stupid to sell a
necklace worth a hundred million for just five thousand! Boohoo... I knew that May wouldn't be so kind
to buy over my fake necklace. She even kept raising the price! Now I know it's because she knew that
it was the real deal and had intentionally cheated me!"
Leah was devastated by her foolish deed and was feeling tipsy. Benson and Kylie immediately stepped
forward to support her and consoled her.
The woman was inconsolable though for she had sold such a precious item for merely five thousand!
How could she not be distressed?
She could not stop blaming herself for doing something so stupid. Leah felt that she had done
something unforgivable.
"It's all your fault! You should have told us the true value of the necklace earlier. What should we do
now? There's no way May would return the necklace when she had gotten such a steal." Penny Smith
reprimanded her husband, while joining in to console her mom.
The reason Nathan Cross chose not to tell his family the price of the necklace was to avoid being
reproached by them for his extravagant spending.
He had not expected that such an episode would unfold.
However, he comforted his family with a smile on his face, saying, "Don't worry, this necklace belongs
to mom. No one else is allowed to have it. I have my ways to make them return it willingly."
When Penny and the rest heard Nathan's declaration, everyone just shook their heads.
None of them believed that those greedy people from the Smith family would return the necklace on
their own accord, especially when it had already fallen into their possession.
Meanwhile, at the Smith family's mansion, an exquisite and precious red ruby necklace was lying on
the table. That 70 carat ruby on the necklace sparkled under the light.
Sean Smith and his family, including Samuel, Paul, Miles and May, formed a circle around the table,
expressing amazement at the red ruby necklace.
May was filled with pride as she said, "Leah is such a country bumpkin! She had such a treasure but
treated it as junk. I managed to buy this from her for only five thousand. Haha!"
Everyone praised May for being astute. It was a feat that she was able to own something which was
worth a hundred million for a mere five thousand.
Samuel Smith let out a cold harrumph and said, "Aren't you also a member of the Smith family? If we
manage to associate ourselves with the Russo family, won't you also benefit from that?"
Although it was obvious that May still resented the idea, she did not dare to argue further. Coոtent оf

Miles and May were thrilled at their grandpa's words. However, May was still not contented. She said
softly, "Grandpa, that car is only worth at most twenty million, but my necklace is worth more than a
hundred million.”
Sean Smith replied with a smile, "But don't forget that you got this necklace for five thousand because
you cheated Leah. If Nathan Cross comes looking fortrouble, do you think you alone will be able to
handle him?”
