Chapter Rush 11
Chapter 11
“Me! On what side? What do you mean? Look, you got it all wrong. I wouldn’t have married you If I knew you were gonna be in a coma! I was just trying to be nice, checking on you. Locking doors? It’s a habit, a total accident. If I thought you’d accuse me like this, I’d never have come!” Alicia’s eyes were teary, and she sounded real upset,
She couldn’t believe that he actually thought she wanted to marry him, getting some angle. If she wasn’t flat–out desperate, there was no way she would tie the knot with a guy who was basically a
Malue.
Her story seemed legit, and she didn’t look like she was lying. But Dalton wasn’t buying it. “Oh, playing the victim now? Just watch, Alicia. One of these days, you’ll get what’s coming to you. Now get out of my sight!” Dalton’s voice was like ice.
With her hands balled into fists, Alicia stormed out of Dalton’s bedro
Meanwhile, at the Slater Manor, Sean got the update and ordered his crew to grab Ellen and head to the Slater residence. A fleet of cars rolled up, and Sean stepped out, smirking as he eyed the grand gates. He thought inward with a smug. I’m going to call the shots here now. So what if used to be the big man? Dead guys can’t compete.
The gates creaked open, and there was Nick, chilling in the doorway. The flickering lights made everything seem kinda spooky. Nick tilted his head, saying, “Welcome, Mr. Slater. The Slater residence’s all yours.”
ton
Sean busted out laughing. Nick used to bite his head off at every turn, and now here he was, acting all humble.
Behind Sean, Ellen’s voice shook, “Nick, where’s Dalton? He’s not… really…” She was pale, her eyes. filling with tears.
“Yeah, Mr. Ellen Slater, Mr. Dalton Slater’s gone. Sorry for your loss,” Nick replied.
Sean’s laugh went off the rails; his eyes were ablaze with crazy glee. He didn’t waste a second and had his guys pull him right into the villa. The gates slammed behind him. And there was Dalton, cool as a cucumber, sitting in a wheelchair.
Sean’s face went ghost–white. “No, no, no! This can’t be! You can’t be alive, Dalton, you’re messing with me!” Sean was freaking out. His mind raced, ‘How is Dalton still alive? All the experts had bailed; there is no way Dalton should be breathing! But now, none of that mattered. Dalton was very much alive, and Sean knew he was toast. He knew Dalton too well; begging on his knees
wouldn’t save his skin.
Right then, a scream ripped through the air, like something out of a horror movie, but it was cut short. In no time, Sean’s guys were all hushed up. The air went thick with what smelled like blood.
Dalton cracked a wicked smile. “I warned you last time. Cross me again, and you’re dog meat.

Seems like you forgot so maybe you’re better off a dog food now.”
Please, Dalton, don’t do this! He’s messed up big time, but he’s your uncle! He’s still family. For my kake, let him off this once, I’m begging you, Ellen cried, pleading for mercy.
Sean, scared stiff, stared at Ellen. He didn’t expect her to beg for him when he was in deep trouble.
Dalton was like ice. He tried to off me, and you want me to let it slide?” His voice was frosty. He looked rough, still shaken up from his close call. He was done. Sean had too many chances, and every time, he tried to rub Dalton out
Ellen kept at it through her tears. “Dalton, Sean did you wrong, but he’s still a Slater. I can’t stand it. Just take everything from him, kick him out of the family, don’t let him back, okay?”
For Sean, losing it all and getting kicked out was a fate worse than dying. His eyes were wild. “No! You can’t leave me with nothing… Just end me, Dalton!”
Dalton seemed to think it over. “Fine. Send him packing. But don’t let h. around, fiving a crummy life no one wants.”
- e. I want him to stick
Sean screamed like a man possessed, “Dalton, you heartless jerk! I’m your uncle! You can’t do this to me! You’re cursed!”
In the spooky light, Dalton’s smile was stone–cold. “I was never supposed to have it good. And if I’m heading to hell, you’re going first. Anyone who sides with him is against me. Get them out!”
“Yes, Mr. Slater, Nick replied.
