Rogues Revenge

Chapter 2

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

The sound was the only thing which helped me keep track of the time passing.

The cabin I was now waiting in was set up just how I wanted it.

There was no bed, no comforts any home should have. Maybe that was because this was no home. No memories of love and laughter will find its way here.

This place was only the resting spot before I made my decent into hell.

My eyes scanned the bare room. In the centre was the main part of my plan. The part that has taken me six months to build.

I could feel the smile creep onto my face as I pictured the man who ruined me, turning me into the same thing as him, the man who destroyed my world ripping my girls from me.

The chair made completely out of iron was nothing short of a master piece.

From the iron nails covering it top to bottom, to the arm and leg clamps that will hold the beast inside him still so I can get my revenge. The thing was wonderful.

The bare walls held nothing but a single photo. A reminder of why I was doing this to him. No doubt the monster had moved on, killed again, broken another family apart. I will never be allowed to move on from the torment he put me through.

The only other item in the room was the tool box I had filled with certain pieces of equipment I will need when I bring our guest back.

I reached down a picked up the back pack at my feet before leaving the cabin. I made a show of locking the door even though I knew the animals that were watching me weren’t going to go in. The moment I started to make my way down the track deeper into the forest, they would move to follow.

I knew they would come for me. Not many survived the transition from human to beast or werewolf as they called themselves, so they hunted me, until I let them find me.

The only problem was, they were the one being hunted.

I made my way through the line of the trees stumbling until I was covered by thick forest, changing my stride to the one of the beasts inside. Shifting effortlessly into the monster they made me.

My pack held tightly in my mouth, the four legs I was now on, pushed me faster than any human feet could move.

Giving in to the wildness inside, I couldn’t deny how freeing it felt.

Power pulsed in my muscles; wild blood pumped through my veins heightening my senses. My ears twitched at the sound of their paws following behind.

I had a good head start but they had been at this longer. Shifting course where I knew my prints would be hidden by the thick foliage that covered the ground. I made my way, as fast as I could, back the way I came. Hoping I was able to get behind them.

I dumped my bag just as I had reached the trail again, one of the wolves was waiting with its nose to the ground. My guess, hunting for my scent.

It’s coat of matted fur looked to be dark brown in colour, but as it was so dirty, it was hard to tell. Yellow eyes kept darting around, looking for any clue.

I made my way as close as possible, creeping slowly, hunched down on all fours. Once I was in striking distance I waited until the wolf had turned, giving me a clear shot of the neck.

My coiled legs propelled me forwards, jaw open ready to wrap around the throat of my enemy. I felt his flesh give way; blood pulsed into my mouth. My front paws helped me bring the body down to the ground while I tore my teeth away from my prey, ripping out his throat as they came free.

Shifting back to human from I stood over the dying animal at my feet, covered in its blood.

“Let the hunting begin.”
