Chapter 1517
How shameless could Finn be?
Harvey felt a strange sense of relief. Over the years, he'd grown up without a father to guide him. If Finn had been in his life, he would've likely ended up selfish and directionless a mirror of the man before him. Finn slammed on the brakes abruptly, his anger flaring as he turned to scold Harvey.
"Is this what your mother taught you? No respect for your elders?" Finn's voice rose, sharp and accusatory. "I may not have raised you, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm your father!
"When your mother married me, it was an arrangement between our families. I never loved her. Later, I found true love, and of course, I had to pursue it. Your mother-she was just a simple country woman who didn't understand anything. "She couldn't give me the life I wanted. Would you have wanted to waste away in the countryside if you were in my position?"
Finn took a deep breath, unleashing years of bottled-up frustration.
All three of his sons were ungrateful. They only cared about their mother and had no regard for him their father.
They only thought about Janine.
To Finn, the blame lay squarely on Janine. In his absence, she must have poisoned their minds, filling them with hatred toward him.
Back then, when he was with Janine, he often thought about spending his life with her in the countryside, but he wasn't willing to settle he couldn't let himself be buried in such mediocrity.
Finn didn't think he had done anything wrong.
It was Janine's fault. She shouldn't have held him back. She shouldn't have raised the children to hate him.
Harvey was stunned by Finn's shamelessness. "You are shameless!"
"You're too young, and you haven't
had the experience I've had. Wait a few years, and you'll understand why I did what I did. Right now, you can't comprehend it." Finn slightly
regretted speaking so muchver
swnover
Harvey sneered and said, "People are different. I'm not as shameless as you, and no matter how many years pass, I'll never stoop to your level."
"You! You don't understand anything." Finn almost exploded in anger.
Harvey tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Around my mom, I'm as considerate as can be. But when I'm with you, I'm suddenly disrespectful?"
"You!" Finn's breath caught in his
breath
throat, the words dying on his lips.
He had believed Harvey, his
youngest, would be the easiest toet
reach But Harvey's sharp tongue cut deep, relentless in its disdain.
Harvey glanced at his phone. "Fine, drop me off here. The hotel is just next door."
Hearing his words, Finn looked out the window. Seeing the hotel, he took a deep breath and tried to calm his emotions before speaking again.
"What I said earlier was too harsh.
It's normal that you can't accept it all
at once. But that doesn't mean
don't love you. On the contrary, I
about you, just like I care about
care ab
Steven and Charles."
Harvey looked at him coldly. "My mom told me that a man should act like one-no need to be wishy-washy or make excuses."
The more Harvey listened, the more contempt he felt for Finn. He thought to himself that Janine had truly been deceived, marrying someone like Finn and having children with him.
At least now, she had met Ted. Compared to Finn, Ted was hundreds of times better, just based on the fact that he cared for Janine.
"You! Why can't you talk calmly to me? Why does it always have to be this confrontational?" Finn was losing his patience, nearly on the edge of losing all composure.
